I had the special roasted sea bass which was pretty good, large portion, well presented with a large side of boiled new potatoes. While most of my companions opted for dessert I ordered the small (haha!) cheese board. Three cheeses, huge portion, loads of crackers etc I simply had to share it with my fellow diners. Epic! We stumbled on this darling Italian restaurant just walking distance from our hotel. We came here two different evenings that's how much we loved this restaurant. We started off with Veneto Sauvignon Blanc. It was a nice Italian wine. We ordered the marinated olives and focaccia. It was perfectly seasoned and the bread had the right amount of garlic and olive oil. Simply delicious. I had the ravioli which had just the right amount of cheese and incredible homemade red Italian sauce. So Devine...picture to follow. The icing on the cake included the best service from Lauro. He was such an attentive server, personable, thoughtful and gave us the best customer experience. He had a lovely Italian accent which helped with the full experience. On night two we had the Pappardelle. Another authentic Italian dinner with fish. Very tasty. We recommend this restaurant and ask for Lauro.

You've a choice of chocolate, caramel or strawberry sauces (if my memory is right) and can also get them with ice cream. *drool* Portion size was just right (6 pieces for 4 euro) and they were fresh and tasty but I think it's a little bit pricy for the amount. That said, we are in Dublin. They also serve arepas and empanadas which seemed to be going down well amongst the small crowd in the place. It was night and I was on my way home, just passing by and without paying much attention to what was around me. But I had to stop when I saw the word "churros". I was about three steps ahead, but a strange force, like an invisible and giant hand, hoisted me back and put me in front of the small establishment. The ChurroTown is of Venezuelan origin and it shares the building with a shop specializing in Argentinean empanadas. The place name tells you what the house specialty is, but the company also sells arepas and empanadas done in Venezuelan typical fashion, plus coffees and soft drinks. A portion of six churros costs €4 and you can choose from among four types of toppings: chocolate, dulce de leche (sweetened milk), strawberry or just sugar. For an extra €0.50 you can add ice cream and some more delicious calories to your day (or night). If you have a partner in crime to accompany you, the best suggestion is to get a portion of twelve churros, which costs €6. The ChurroTown offers loyalty card and, after ordering ten portions of this delicacy, the 11th is free. It is a good reason to become a churroholic, isn't it? My choice was the smallest portion, with toppings of chocolate and dulce de leche. The intention was to share it with flatmates, so I asked for a takeaway and without ice cream. When I turned the corner, I decided to try only one churro: after all, I needed to know if it was good and I also wanted to enjoy it as the churro was still warm and crispy. I ate one, then another while walking along the Liffey... and I came home with an empty box in my hands. I was glad there was a bin close by and I could get rid of the box: the evidence of my sin and selfishness. On another occasion, I went back there to try empanadas filled with chicken and shredded beef (the best!). Each one costs €3 and can also be stuffed with cheese, ham and cheese and a traditional flavor, Pabellón with cheese, shredded beef and beans. The experience was very positive and I have turned into a regular customer. My loyalty card can't get filled fast enough!

You could add soup or a salad for an extra two quid also. I went for their soup which was Roasted Red Pepper & Tomato - really zingy and fresh. For breakfast, I ordered an Americano, a ginger scone, and their Irish Oat Porridge - Classic. Their porridge is organic oats made with milk and with ordering it as "Classic", it was served with cream and honey. Starting with the ginger scone, this was another case of a perfectly baked scone - Crispy, golden exterior with a moist, buttery interior. The flavor of ginger was perfectly balanced and the raisins inside were a nice supplement to the scone. The porridge was really good, I loved the creaminess of it! Both did a nice job of filling me up and setting me up for the day of walking to come. Funny enough, around 3:30pm, I stopped here again to grab a mid-afternoon treat and ordered the chocolate and hazelnut Babka, their soft bun filled with chocolate and toasted hazelnuts. This pastry was crazy tasty! A slightly crispy exterior with a croissant-like inside chocked full of chocolate and those toasted hazelnuts. This was so rich and truly decadent. Brother Hubbard is a gem of a breakfast and pastry spot! I appreciate the relaxing café environment with friendly staff and high-quality food. However, the brunch rush came afterwards and by the time I left, the entire place was filled. It's popular. And yes, it's the same spot Phil Rosenthal ate at. I even saw the owner who was featured on the show here, helping out with clearing tables and so forth. I ordered the traditional Irish breakfast and an iced chai latte. The food was good and actually, not as heavy as I anticipated. It came with an egg, sausage, bacon, beans and a pudding, which I had to look up. It's ground meat with oats and is molded into a patty. It didn't taste bad, so can see why it's served around these parts of the world. And the meal also came with another item I had to look up, colcannon bread, which was a potato bread with kale. And it was my favorite part of the breakfast! Delicious. If you're looking for a breakfast spot in Dublin, then I'm pretty sure you already know about Brother Hubbard, which is popular, all for good reason.
