Because of multiple issues and poor customer service I ended our relationship and they tell me I cant because we have a long term contract??? Let me understand, even if they do not live up to an average level of service I still owe them for the duration of our contarct- they sent it to a collection agency which obviously impacts our credit etc...if they would have just been an average company with average service we'd still be with them. Live and learn!!!! PS- Cox has been a great security company for way less money and commitment!!! DT

Webco lied to me and refuses to correct their mistake. I was duped into signing a 4 year contract…read morethat I didn't want to sign because I knew there was a chance we would be moving states soon and it wouldn't make sense to sign a long-term contract. I was told it would be 'no problem' to continue service in another state. What I wasn't told was that they assumed I would have the exact same house (no need for additional sensors) and that I would have to re-install the (now incomplete/worthless) system myself. They actually suggested I post an ad on craigslist to find some random person to come install my security system. I was told they would send me additional sensors (which they didn't) and help me find a reputable company to professionally install their system for me (also didn't happen). They refuse to let me out of their 4 year contract which I am still paying for monthly even though I am unable to use their service. This company lacks integrity, professionalism and basic customer support.

ADT did not charge me for closing the account as I did it within their cancellation time limit. Never heard from Safe Haven after they signed me up and installed ADT's service, until they wanted their pound of flesh over six months after cancelling directly with ADT. In that one and only email interaction, they threatened to send me to their outside collection agency. That's probably typical language with any request for funds but considering they couldn't contact me in a timely manner nor at any other time, it's neither a great look nor feeling. Avoid.

Three people from Mid American Energy came knocking at my door the other morning. They informed me that my power meter was 15 years old and it had quit working. They told me that in order to replace the meter, the meter box would have to be replaced first and an electrician would have to do that part at my expense. So, I started my online search. I contacted Universal and three other places. One place didn't return my call at all, another said that they were too backed up, and the third one gave me a quote of $3100 dollars. Universal came out the day after I called and said they could do the job for $550 dollars. I said that would be fine and to go ahead as soon as they could. They were here the following day with Brian and his co-worker. When they saw that the entire box did not need to be replaced, they only replaced the connector parts inside the box that were bad. When everything was said and done, they said the job turned out to be easier that they had expected and dropped their charges from $550 dollars to $180 dollars. Mid American was there at the time they did their work and seemed perfectly happy with the work that Universal had done. They installed the new meter and everyone went on their way. It could not have been a better experience. If I ever need the help of an electrician again, I won't even consider calling anyone other than Universal.

Universal Electric was called to my home for what appeared to be a breaker issue. By the time their…read moretwo technicians arrived, the issue had already resolved itself. I asked them to investigate further in case the problem returned, but they declined, saying "there's nothing we can do." They never entered the home, never inspected anything, and only briefly stepped out of their van into my driveway to talk to me before leaving. At no point during the scheduling call was I told there would be a service fee. When the techs arrived, they made no mention of a charge, nor did they provide any kind of invoice or paperwork before leaving. I later received three bills by mail, each demanding $130, with no explanation of what the charge was for -- just a warning that failure to pay would result in the account being sent to collections. I did not believe the charge was warranted and disputed it in writing via certified mail with return receipt, which Universal Electric received and signed for. They never responded. No follow-up, no phone call, no documentation -- just silence. Eventually, they turned the matter over to a collection agency. It's frustrating to be billed for a visit where no service was performed, no agreement was made, and no information was shared upfront about potential charges. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Universal Electric.

So this place either does not know what they are doing or they are crooks, either way you don't want your business there. Ended up going to 2 other repair shops and both were able to give a high end estimate. Robert, your response is as ridiculous as your "Million Dollars" quote. I did not get frustrated until you gave an obviously ridiculous answer. Yeah, I shouldn't have said your answer was F'ing crazy, but no other words could describe it. Don;t worry, I found Peace when I went to a professional repair shop that had no issue answering my questions. I am sure you will also find peace as your business drops off due to your stellar customer service.
