Not only was the equipment free, but the terms of the contract were very doable, even though it was a longer time period than most others. I believe that we ended up signing a 48 month contract, and since we have only had one issue with the electronics (which Vivint quickly sent someone out to repair, and it was free?!?!). We are now moving, and since we do not have a home selected on the other side of the country, we are able to transfer the Vivint service to the new home buyers who also were delighted with the technology and the more affordable price. Our alarm has been activated a couple of times, by accident, but they were quick to respond and make sure that we were safe. Our system included 2 full automatic entry door locks, wifi camera, glass break sensors, window and door sensors, wifi connectivity with cellular backup, garage door tilt monitoring, and whole home thermostat. I love it, and honestly, I highly doubt that I will check out any other company once we get a new place picked out in Vegas.

Horrible experience with this company since system was installed 3 weeks ago!…read more - Installer didn't properly connect carbon monoxide detectors as a signal wasn't being sent to monitoring station or ADT pulse. - Installer didn't provide ADT monitoring our phone number and phone password to call us if an alarm sounded. - Technician that was dispatched to trouble shoot carbon monoxide signal didn't put system in test mode. ADT couldn't call us as installer hadn't provided correct phone # to monitoring station. Police showed up. - Spent 2 hours on phone with ADT and Defender requesting to cancel monitoring contract. Customer service on both sides was useless and they kept point the finger of blame at each other. I was ultimately threatened with collection action if I didn't continue to pay monthly fee for this incompetence. Do yourself a favor and find a security firm that is competent, professional and customer serviced oriented. ADT and Defender are a joke.

Because of multiple issues and poor customer service I ended our relationship and they tell me I cant because we have a long term contract??? Let me understand, even if they do not live up to an average level of service I still owe them for the duration of our contarct- they sent it to a collection agency which obviously impacts our credit etc...if they would have just been an average company with average service we'd still be with them. So this place either does not know what they are doing or they are crooks, either way you don't want your business there. Ended up going to 2 other repair shops and both were able to give a high end estimate. Robert, your response is as ridiculous as your "Million Dollars" quote. I did not get frustrated until you gave an obviously ridiculous answer. Yeah, I shouldn't have said your answer was F'ing crazy, but no other words could describe it. Don;t worry, I found Peace when I went to a professional repair shop that had no issue answering my questions. I am sure you will also find peace as your business drops off due to your stellar customer service.

We have had multiple issues with Tony and they are still ongoing. Earlier this year, we ended up…read moreowing an additional $4900 on the 2024 state taxes because "Tony messed something up". When you communicate with Tony, he will never give you a straight answer of where he went wrong. The issue ended up going on so long and we weren't notified about it by Tony - instead, going into the end of 2025, we got a letter from the Department of Revenue of the State of Nebraska that if a payment plan or full payment was not made, a lien would be placed on our property. You can imagine our surprise to receive such a letter when we are paying Tony close to $1200/year to file our taxes! A premium price for NOT premium work. Even once we made the full payment on that, Tony took 5 months for the fees to drop off of the bill because he kept claiming "their office is busy". I called their office several times and had no issue getting them on the phone. To top it off, we just submitted our 2025 taxes and we were expecting a return. Lo and behold, the return hasn't come after more than a month later. We had to call the IRS to find out why and it turns out, Tony never submitted our 2023 taxes!!! And now we are being sent an additional bill because he's claiming we owe on the 2023 taxes that he finally just filed. How did he not get notified that the 2023 filing didn't go through? When I spoke to him on the phone, he tried to play this game of "oh you know how these computer systems work"....umm no! That's not how it works! The IRS would have notified him. When he sent us the most recent amount that is now due in back taxes, he also just sent a blanket amount without the breakdown of interest and fees - probably in the hope that we will just pay it and that he doesn't have to cover the fees. Also, once I realize that multiple mistakes were being made on our tax returns, I went through them myself and found additional mistakes! I had switched jobs in March of 2024. I sent Tony both W2s for that year. When I went back through the report, he only filed one of the W2 incomes/taxes and he filed it under the wrong company! Like, this is a job where details matter and when you communicate your frustrations with Tony, he doesn't take care of it. Sometimes we are waiting for months on end and most of the time you can barely reach him by phone. Emails are completely out the window - he never responds, I doubt he even reads them. We will never be doing business here again. Do not do business here unless you want to be dealing with the same headaches that we are - dealing with taxes from 3 years ago due to clerical mistakes from Tony. I saw another poster mentioned making a report to the BBB. I will be posting there as well as making a formal complaint with the IRS.

Three people from Mid American Energy came knocking at my door the other morning. They informed me that my power meter was 15 years old and it had quit working. They told me that in order to replace the meter, the meter box would have to be replaced first and an electrician would have to do that part at my expense. So, I started my online search. I contacted Universal and three other places. One place didn't return my call at all, another said that they were too backed up, and the third one gave me a quote of $3100 dollars. Universal came out the day after I called and said they could do the job for $550 dollars. I said that would be fine and to go ahead as soon as they could. They were here the following day with Brian and his co-worker. When they saw that the entire box did not need to be replaced, they only replaced the connector parts inside the box that were bad. When everything was said and done, they said the job turned out to be easier that they had expected and dropped their charges from $550 dollars to $180 dollars. Mid American was there at the time they did their work and seemed perfectly happy with the work that Universal had done. They installed the new meter and everyone went on their way. It could not have been a better experience. If I ever need the help of an electrician again, I won't even consider calling anyone other than Universal.

Universal Electric was called to my home for what appeared to be a breaker issue. By the time their…read moretwo technicians arrived, the issue had already resolved itself. I asked them to investigate further in case the problem returned, but they declined, saying "there's nothing we can do." They never entered the home, never inspected anything, and only briefly stepped out of their van into my driveway to talk to me before leaving. At no point during the scheduling call was I told there would be a service fee. When the techs arrived, they made no mention of a charge, nor did they provide any kind of invoice or paperwork before leaving. I later received three bills by mail, each demanding $130, with no explanation of what the charge was for -- just a warning that failure to pay would result in the account being sent to collections. I did not believe the charge was warranted and disputed it in writing via certified mail with return receipt, which Universal Electric received and signed for. They never responded. No follow-up, no phone call, no documentation -- just silence. Eventually, they turned the matter over to a collection agency. It's frustrating to be billed for a visit where no service was performed, no agreement was made, and no information was shared upfront about potential charges. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Universal Electric.

I was told they had just picked the materials up and would be on their way. The receptionist from Do All called and I expressed that I was angry and when asked what could be done to make it right I asked that they come, do the work and to just stay out of my way. He yelled at me and acted as though he was doing me a favor for coming out on a Saturday (which they only ever offered a Saturday appointment) and it being a the holidays (December 5 is not a holiday) I should be more appreciative of him.
