Where do I start, swan pools built my pool about a year and a half ago and charlie was great to me. Charlie did an outstanding job on my pool. Everything i wanted he did his best to make it happen. I did want a bigger pool, but with all the rules and spacing, permits i would of needed a bigger property, he maxed the spacing he can use to build the pool, even when the inspector came by he told me your right on the money for room. Charlie really put in work on my pool and it's beautiful. His sub contractors are good too. All respectful and nice. I had a vision on what I wanted my pool to look like and Charlie drew it out, moved things around until I was happy. Even when major days on building I was there to make minor adjustments on things to fit what I wanted and no issues. All were respectful. When we were originally in the market for a pool we didn't really know where to begin. We did call about four different companies and all of them came out and gave us quotes. While Charlie was not the cheapest quote I felt that he would the best suited for the job. Do you really want to use the cheapest guy when building a permanent structure in your backyard? Not me! The one thing that sold us on him was the fact that he had design ideas. All we knew is that we wanted a pool, with his experience he was able to give us excellent ideas on our pool and what would be best suited for our backyard. He kept us informed every step of the way and always let us know what was going to be next on the list to do. His communication is top notch! This is my recent post 10/18/19... this review update should've been up a while back but we've been busy enjoying the pool! Bottom line: great job, AGAIN. Pool 2 is done. Friends and family are also building pools w Charlie. I think the ppl that ramble on and on with bogus complaints are either delusional or have a personality disorder. Communication goes both ways! Customer service is a joke and all I've done so far is asked for a quote. When he called he sounded less than enthusiastic or happy to oblige. When I asked for his availability to provide a quote he only gave me 1 time slot and when I said that day or time won't work for us, he said he'll call me back. No phone call yet and it's the next day. He did however, call me twice yesterday, once by mistake and when I told him we just spoke and he called back the wrong person, he blamed on HomeAdvisor, that theyre sending him all kinds of contacts. Pass the buck, no call back to schedule. You're busy? So are we. On to the next contractor. Will likely go with Hansen pools, their service is 100%. read more

Our experience last year with Charles was a major nightmare. I am a C-36 Plumbing Contractor and would never treat my customers the way he treated us. He was constantly asking for money before the each phase was completed and would threaten not to show up the next day if he did not receive a payment. It was a constant battle with him. He was supposed to run my area drains to the curb but did not. He used the excuse we have roll up curbs and could not do. Two of my neighbors have drains to the curb. He put in a gravel pit and told us it would handle the rain. Now every time it rains my backyard floods. Charles subcontractors where good. There are many pool companies out there. We absolutely love our pool and spa. Charlie will build you a solid product for a fair price. He has good subcontractors that have worked with him for a long time. He was spot on with his quote and we had no problems with our contract. Our project was a little tricky because we were working with a large existing area that we wanted to blend. He made it work! We told him what we wanted and he designed it perfectly. He had a lot of great ideas about how to tweak the overall design to make it all flow together. Our pool took longer than expected, but the pool industry is very busy right now with the all of the pandemic pool building. We have done a lot of construction projects so we know how these things work. It can be hard to be patient, but it is worth it! Charlie at Swan pools is awesome. He was the only one who returned our calls when we were first inquiring. He showed up, listened to what our ideas were and answered all of our questions. He was really good about explaining what we should and shouldn't do, but wasn't trying to upsell us at all. I wish I read some of these reviews before calling Swan Pools. Charlie is absolutely ridiculous. We should have known from the get go because when my parents called to request an estimate to get a spa made...he said something about how our pool being really old and needing extra work done. He continued by saying "it's going to be at least 15K -20K, do you even want me to come by?" In a rude tone. My parents got the impression that he would be wasting his time if he came. Ugh. Anyway, they scheduled for him to come out on Sunday. Charlie reassured my parents that he would be here. Not only was the guy late but Charlie didn't even show up!!! When my mom asked...the guy said "oh he's a workaholic and has a habit of saying he'll come but it's impossible for him to go to all appointments." WTF. Strike 2! The guy gives us an estimate of approximately 28K. We chit chat..whatever and request a formal written estimate for us to use as a baseline when reaching out to other companies as well. That guy was pretty nice and agreed to do so. Fast forward to today, my dad receives a phone call from Charlie YELLING at him. Saying stuff like "how could you make my guy go over there and waste his time?!? I already told you about how much it's going to be and you told me to come anyways. And now you only want to spend 5-10K? If you want a pool guy...call somebody else and don't call me anymore" then hung up the phone. He didn't even give a chance for my dad to respond!! We hadn't even told them whether or not we were going to use their company...we also hadn't even received the written estimate. The 5-10k he's referring to was a comment my mom made about how she originally thought that's how much it was going to be and how mistaken she was. Talk about taking something out of context. The moral of the story is: swan pools is incredibly unprofessional, rude, and full of lies!!!! read more

Swan Pools just finished my humble little pool that they built from scratch. The final product was better than I expected. The price was very reasonable. Charlie Dennis is the main guy. He will come to your home in a short notice and write you up a quote the same day. Out of the 3 other companies that came to give me quotes, Charlie was the only one that was able to give me a detail bid right on the spot. I guess he really knows his pools. Charlie was very easy going and great to work with. He was a no B/S person and very prompt. Unlike most other contractors, he collects the money after the job is done. I never owned a pool before, but the experience I had with Swan Pool was great. I only wish I had a larger back yard to put in a larger pool. The only regret I have was not going with him on the decking of my pool. Instead, I went with a not-so-professional decking company and end up with a not-so-professional job so I can save a few bucks that was not even worth it. The start-up service was great...very professional...I can't imagine any start-up service better then them. I would definitely recommend Swan Pool to do your pool. Completely unprofessional. I called requesting a quote. The (I think) owner of the company tells me he won't bother with an estimate until I send pictures. Ok. So I send them on a Friday and call back on a Monday to make sure they were received. Leave a message and then nothing in return. Call again Tuesday to check in once again and I get nothing. I then run to Yelp since I get a bad feeling about this contractor. My instincts are confirmed and how happy I am that I don't have to write a review like the others "I wish I would've looked into this contractor before he worked on our pool". We met Charlie in June while looking for the right pool guy. When Charlie arrived we really had no idea what we wanted other then we wanted a pool in our backyard. He started asking the typical pool questions. Where do you want it? How big! What shape? How deep? All to which my wife and I looked at each other smiled and said I don't know. We gave him the direction clean lines raised spa and saltwater. Charlie then said "ok let me get some measurements and I will draw something up for you." A couple days later he sent over a design and we loved it so much so we used to it to get other prices. I know that sounds bad but Charlie was so confident in he's work he was open to it. He never pressured us to make a decision and even followed up a few times to see if we had questions in regards to the other quotes we got. He never said a negative thing about the other company's just simply explained the differences and that's why we choose him. Once we agreed on a price he never tried to up sell or change the agreement. The payment plan was in writing up front and when I came home a saw work completed I know it was time to write a check in the amount already determined. We even had ideas to do things, some he agreed and others he advised otherwise. His famous line is "I'll spend your money however you want but I would or woulrecommend doing that" and he clearly explains why. His work is beautiful and I would recommend him to anyone but my worst enemies (They don't deserve work this nice). In the end he started second week of June with a September 1st finish date and we were swimming in our pool a day early. I was very happy with the work that they did AT FIRST. Charlie is very artistic and will design a beautiful pool. HOWEVER, my pool was built in 2013, it is now 2018. I have had to replace ALMOST ALL OF MY EQUIPMENT because he installed crap. Every single year, something major falls apart with this pool. I replaced the heater ($3000) two years ago when it was only three years old, and the guy who replaced it said it was completely bent on the bottom and inside, like it had been dropped. I have replaced the salt cell ($700) which required draining the pool and refilling it ($460 in H2O), the breakers in the pool panel ($280 each), and now I have to replace the motor ($1000). I am really hoping that they did not screw up the stuff that will be a major disaster like the rebar, gunite, tiles and like that. It's bad enough I am having to replace all of the equipment that runs the pool, if I have to redo everything else, I might find this a-hole and sue him. I paid $60k for my pool, it should last longer than five years. A friend of mine also used him at the same time I did, and she has also had nothing but problems with her equipment. Don't hire him to do anything but the design. Hire others to do the actual work. Better yet, hire a different company altogether. I am so disgusted. read more
