This salon is conveniently located near my house, but I'm not completely awed by it. The prices are standard for Gainesville and the salon is clean. The pedicures are the only thing I would really recommend here. They do a great job and my toes are left in tip top shape and the pedicure lasts a few weeks at least. However my manicure never lasts. Even with gel, my nails are chipping within a few days. When I get gel at other salons, it has lasted up to a month and still looks perfect. This is very frustrating as I cannot stand chips on my nails and I have to remove them pretty quickly after getting them done. read more

Such a lovely experience, I got a mani-pedi with regular polish. This was my first time here as I just moved nearby, and I plan to make this my go-to salon. They started me with my pedi, and halfway through another lady walked over to start on my mani. The lady doing my pedi was very well, and she massaged my toes, feet, legs, and knees. I'm used to the messages being very fast and too quick to enjoy, HOWEVER this lady spent at least 10 minutes per leg which really made this an incredible experience. The lady doing my mani also massaged my hands, lower arm, and slightly my upper arm which also felt amazing. The massage chair was a nice touch. I feel so refreshed after visiting, and it wasn't very expensive either! $35 for my mani-pedi with amazing massages. (I was also happy that they had Dr. Phil playing on one of the TV's!) read more

I came as a walk in on a Tuesday. There was a steady stream if people coming in which I take as a good sign. The woman who did my nails was very kind and although she took breaks at the beginning and end of my service to do 2 other peoples eyebrows, I was happy with her work. She was meticulous in cleaning up my hands and feet with the cuticle nipper, didn't cut me at all, and took her time making sure my toes were super clean and presentable. EXCELLENT! I should've came here in the first place to get my acrylics done. This salon was recommended to me by a friend. I came here for a fill on my set of acrylics after being unhappy with the shape that was done at another salon in Gainesville. The nail tech was amazing and kind with me. She was also extremely patient with my tense hands. She reshaped my nails to give them a more natural shape and did an excellent job on the fill. I was pretty happy with my French tip manicure. It was $35 + $5 to remove the gels I had. I thought Tina did a great job. I got her to remove a little too much length & round them out too much, but that's my fault. The next time I get new tips, I will get them longer & keep them more squared. But she did exactly what I asked & did an awesome job. They could have put more lotion on my hands, or been a little more personable, but all in all, I liked the location & they did a great job. They should get kid prices, tho. Besides that, I liked it, & will prob go back for fill-ins..& to get longer ones next time. I made an appointment to come for an appointment. I showed up one minute past my appointment time and they had moved onto another client and said that I needed to wait thirty minutes before they could see me. I have been in there before and had to wait on the nail technician to finish with another client and I have never minded that as I know things go over in time sometimes and the importance on being flexible. I arrived one minute late and there was no room for flexibility on their part. They want their time to be valued but do not extend that value and flexibility to their customers. I never get my nails done, I've had mad experiences in the past. I called ahead and was able to schedule an appointment on my lunch break during work, I wanted acrylics for engagement photos. I believe she was the owner/manager who helped me. They were very busy but she was able to see me within 10 minutes after arrival and completed a full set with polish and drying all within an hour. Being new in town, I did what I always do, and chose my nail salon on the basis of Yelp ratings. Well . . . People were friendly. The price is definitely right, $20 for a pedicure though I'm happy to pay a bit more to get a great job. I waited 1/2 an hour for a chair, but that's what I get for walking in on a busy day. The pedicure is okay, though I can see tiny traces of color on my skin. I prefer to have my toes "set" under lights, but although no one was using the light, the tech insisted I sit in the chair for an additional 1/2 hour until I was sufficiently dry. I finally just said I had to leave, and she helped me slip my foot into the sandals. My concern focuses on cleanliness -- rinsing the tools under the tap after use does not constitute sufficient cleaning, let alone sterilizing between clients. Also, her sponges and buffers were just stuck back into the tech's tool basket, and used directly on the next customer. I can't be sure, but I tried to watch carefully, and I didn't see any use of disinfectant or cleaner on the soaking bins between clients - just let the water out, swish a bit with water, and on we go. While I was waiting, a woman came in who said she had a pedicure just at the beginning of the week. The polish on two of her toes had lifted -- "How long will I need to wait to get a touchup?" The response, though said politely: "We don't have time to do this, but you are welcome to use the polish yourself." Ummmm. Not good enough, my friends. I'll be trying elsewhere. read more

*week later update on bottom* Gel polish (no manicure) cost $20 and the polish looked watered-down. She did 2 coats yet it still looks blotchy. Not sure if you can tell with the picture. Pedicure cost $20. This was the fastest pedicure I've had but not in a good way. She didn't even scrub my legs (maybe I needed to pay more for that...?) I live in Miami and usually in Miami they do a lot more for a $20 pedicure. She didn't scrub my legs but she just put lotion and gave me a weak massage. She cut my toe nails but on both feet some of them came out crooked. At least the staff seemed friendly.... **Update** A week after getting nails done, my shellac started peeling off like as if it was a sticker! This has never happened before, usually they last me at least 2 weeks. I am 9 days into it now and I only have 3 nails polished. Mind you, the only time I use a lot of warm water is when I shower. I don't typically write reviews but I feel like I had to. I went on a Thursday and got a full set of acrylic with gel. By Saturday mostly all were lifted and three nails had completely come off. I went back to the salon and got it fixed, but the nails were different shapes and they had lost the original color I got a few days before. In the pictures you can see the difference in my left hand versus the right which I just got done again. Ended up taking my nails off the same day and will be going elsewhere. read more

I came here for the first time after looking at online reviews. I made an appointment with swan (as recommended on reviews here). As I walked it, this woman with glasses was very very rude. After selecting my nail paint, I was looking at her to direct me towards swan. She very arrogantly said " swan is right there why are you looking at me?" I explained - as I mentioned on the phone this is my first time here. Other than that, swan was wonderful. Very meticulous and sweet. She did a fantastic job and was nice to talk to. Worst Eyebrow waxing I have ever gotten. She asked me if I just wanted it cleaned and I said yes, keep in mind that I already have pretty shaped and full eyebrows. I'm not sure what she considers cleaned because she over did it so much you can see a tan line. She also gave me a shape that is truly awful and ruined the arch I had. When I got there every pedicure chair was occupied, but the owner was very apologetic and made sure I was comfortable while I waited. She did a great job on my mani/pedi and didn't rush even though it was after hours. The hand and foot massage was great and she even gave me a shoulder massage while my nails dried! Ever since my regular nail place closed I've been searching for a new place and this place is it! I came here with a friend and my daughter and our toes and nails look amazing! We all agree that they are so nice here and do a great job! They have good prices, too. I'm hard on my nails and very picky and want my polish whether regular or gel to last longer than a couple of days. I got a manicure and regular polish and almost 2 weeks later my nails still look awesome and no chips. My daughter got a full set of white tips and she said she was very happy with the lady who did them. We also got a pedicure and our feet feel great and look pretty.
