This would take far too…read morelong, so I'll number it and try to be concise: 1) Sales Rep told us "no demo required" and drafted a plan for somewhere between 9-11 galvanized steel piers to be driven into "bedrock" (later explained to not be the case). 2) $10K deposit already processed when the crew showed up. a) "This diagram is inaccurate." "We need to go under the deck and rip up the first 8-10 planks". b) Wrong - we can't go under the deck. "We need to chisel out the floor at the rear of the garage to install 4 piers there". 3) This 3-4 day job, tomorrow am, 22 Jun, will be day 13. 4) They had an excavator, all the dirt, boulders, and other loose stones parked on the side of the lawn for 12 days before removal. 5) AFTER finally removing the excavator - 21 June - the crew told me I was supposed to remit payment. a) They haven't addressed the large crack in the corner of the garage, and b) I financed 60% of the job through their 3rd party finance company GreenSky. There is no money owed them, once they finish - it's now on a payment plan through GreenSky. PS - Their office has NO IDEA how this works. Called 3 times to ensure billing would be applied to the account we were approved for. NO CLUE AT ALL. 6) They also had to dig to the foundation on the R side of the garage (known). They dug it up to spill over the retaining wall into the neighbor's driveway. The neighbors couldn't use half their driveway for the same two weeks due to dirt and stones falling into their driveway. Read GROK, & their BBB ratings (Boston / Plainville MA specifically). There is always, always, always an excuse. Nothing but "yes man" responses from the project manager. I NEVER WANT ANY COMPANY TO LOSE WORK, because there are too many people who lose business because ppl want their asses kissed. Not the case in this instance. I'm writing this as they still haven't finished the work. LOOK at the pics, consider how the job was written, conveyed, we were told no demo, and this was the garage and driveway for 2 weeks. After seeing the images of the dump truck in our neighbor's yard, the home office sent a kid to Home Depot to get some hydraulic cement. He slapped some in with a putty knife and said "all done". THAT'S how they completed the job. Remember, this company told us 3-4 days. The ONLY reason I agreed to ripping up the garage floor was I would have it back in a few days. The office approved us in MARCH for financing, and their office is telling them to grab a check. The left hand never knows what the right hand is doing. I hope they read this, and refute it - I'll be happy to elaborate further, this is enough for now. Again, use your preferred AI for reviews, prompt it for follow-ups, delays, service, complaints, and the longer list of complaints for return calls.

As they say...pictures say a thousand words, Roy and his team transformed our backyard into a thing of beauty! The workmanship was A1... Roy explained the pro's and con's on what we envisioned and made some suggestions that we loved. They would arrive late, skip appointments or take two weeks to send the estimate. If I can't trust them to write out an estimate, how can I trust them with the actual project. When I called Westwood Masonry, I was immediately confirmed with an appointment. Roy, the owner, was a pleasure to work with. He gave me the estimate immediately after measuring and scoping out the project and discussing my needs. We agreed upon a start date and he told me the project would take roughly three weeks. Roy and his crew arrived a day early (of course after he asked if this was OK). I love it when contractors start their projects as scheduled and don't "ghost". He communicated continuously throughout the job and his entire crew could not have been more professional and with exemplary workmanship. You could tell they all took pride in their work and were true craftsmen. Roy finished in two weeks and a couple of days... finishing the project QUICKER than what he told me. I can't recall the last time this has happened with a contractor. Another thing I like is that Westwood Masonry did not require a hefty deposit to start the work. Frankly, they didn't require any deposit. I often feel that contractors grab a deposit and then you don't see them for several weeks. This job started and they worked every day until it was complete. The finished patio, staircases, walls and firepit came out EXACTLY as envisioned and it all looks fantastic. He did a couple of additional touches as an added bonus. I can tell this patio is going to last for a generation. The quality of work was outstanding. I have another masonry project in mind for my property and I will be 100% calling Roy and Westwood Masonry. Here's a quick YouTube video of the project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HM-zJNpGKR8
