Yesterday the crew was here for the recent job of removing concrete landing step ( which started to fall apart during the winter) and replacing it with a granite step. Guess what he kept his word! Mostly everything was fixed back to its condition before they came out. Now with all the recent snow and all the melting thats taking place, my basement would have been a literal disaster. But its not, its super dry and smells great and is airtight. Couldn't be happier really…read more I had a handful of previous estimates but never pulled the trigger to get the work done because I didn't trust the companies that came out. They would arrive late, skip appointments or take two weeks to send the estimate. If I can't trust them to write out an estimate, how can I trust them with the actual project. When I called Westwood Masonry, I was immediately confirmed with an appointment. Roy, the owner, was a pleasure to work with. He gave me the estimate immediately after measuring and scoping out the project and discussing my needs. We agreed upon a start date and he told me the project would take roughly three weeks. Roy and his crew arrived a day early (of course after he asked if this was OK). I love it when contractors start their projects as scheduled and don't "ghost". He communicated continuously throughout the job and his entire crew could not have been more professional and with exemplary workmanship. You could tell they all took pride in their work and were true craftsmen. Roy finished in two weeks and a couple of days... finishing the project QUICKER than what he told me. I can't recall the last time this has happened with a contractor. Another thing I like is that Westwood Masonry did not require a hefty deposit to start the work. Frankly, they didn't require any deposit. I often feel that contractors grab a deposit and then you don't see them for several weeks. This job started and they worked every day until it was complete. The finished patio, staircases, walls and firepit came out EXACTLY as envisioned and it all looks fantastic. He did a couple of additional touches as an added bonus. I can tell this patio is going to last for a generation. The quality of work was outstanding.
