On a voucher on a Friday night, which is pretty unusual as vouchers are often kept for mid week when things are slow. We did have the earliest booking 6pm and that turned out to be a very good move as there was a large table booked for around 7pm. The restaurant was pretty full by 7:30pm and very very noisy. As time wore on you could see that the chefs and staff were getting a little edgy and pushed.
Our food as excellent and so was the service until 7:30pm where you could see patrons asking for pepper (no condiments on the table) or water etc which had them running around in circles.
Our starter was a fresh baguette with truffle butter (yum); entrees were snail spring rolls (interesting and tasty) and ratatouille on a puff pastry (very nice); our mains were beef cheek (very good) and gnocchi (you can taste the goat's cheese); our desserts were chocolate garden (a bit disappointing and not like the description on the menu) and sticky date pudding (smaller serving than the full paying customer next to us).
I would give it another go on a voucher at a quieter time. read more
