We drove there from the city and got there in like 15 minutes. Parking is as bit of a challenge, but luckily someone was pulling out and we got a spot. This place was packed! The kitchen was tiny, four chefs crowded around the stove making pizzas. We had to wait about 15 minutes and walked around. There were a few other restaurants, but they were all fairly empty. Got the pizza and it smelled so good. Couldn't wait to eat it. We ordered the fratelli's - with mushroom, rocket and proscuitto, the Napolenta - which had olives and sardines and the Gamberoni, which had prawns, garlic and lemon. The Fratelli was delicious and they didn't skimp on the proscuitto. The Napolenta was nice but not a fan of sardines. The Gameroni was yummy and the prawns were delicious! Great place for pizza, probably the best I've tried in Sydney so far..

The entreés were good, though portions on the small side...but good start. The crust was crispy, dough was fluffy, but the pizza itself was a little too flimsy...flimsy enough you had to eat with two hands and the toppings fell off quite easily, so I found it more annoying than enjoyable to eat. I need to come here again to solidify my opinion, but for the time being, if you live near the CBD I wouldn't make the trek out here as there are other places to go. Order a small pizza on the side if you have 6 people, as the metre long will be gone in seconds and you may still be hungry.

It must be this distinctly Italian, friendly service that has made La Botte a Willoughby institution for many, many years. The cuisine here is classic Italian but my personal favourite is their thin crust pizzas (which is how traditional Italian pizza should be made). The ambience is more 'home style' than fine dining but that is what a local Italian should feel like in my book.
