Lively and fun spot right next to the Manly Wharf. It was pretty busy. Lots of people dressed to the 9 but also extremely casual beach attire. The bar/restaurant offers great view, open dining space. No reservations. We had children with us but I wouldn't call it ideal for children. There was nice cozy lounge seating which we didn't have to wait long for. I had the barramundi and calamari which were both well prepared and delicious. The rest of our party had an assortment of pizza which were all good as well. There is a nice selection of pizzas. I followed my barramundi with a glass of Riesling. Hugo's has a full bar as well. Service was great as well and very patient. The only drawback is parking is limited but most seemed to be commuting by ferry. Highly recommend.

Great place to have lunch with good food and a beautiful view of the harbor. For non locals, you can buy an Opal card across from Wharf 4. For $15 this card will give you unlimited rides on the ferry, trains or buses for the day. You can also buy the card for the week or you can always reload the card for more usage. Get on the ferry for Manly Wharf from Wharf 4. There's a schedule of departure and pick up times at Whatf 4. They generally leave every 30 minutes. There's also wifi on board the ferry. Once at Manly Wharf, exit the terminal, turn left and you practically stumble into Hugo's. They have a lot of seats by the window and some tables outside with umbrellas. We came to Hugo's on a Wednesday at about 11:30 and the place was 90% filled but we managed to get a window table for two. They provide blankets and sunscreen to customers sitting outside which we thought was such a lovely gesture and really impressed us with their level of care. There were a lot of pizzas on the menu and we saw a lot of people eating pizzas so we asked the waitress if they specialized in pizzas. She said yes they're known for their pizzas and we were in luck because all pizzas were half off as a lunch special that day. We ordered the Prosciutto Pizza and the Salt & Pepper Australian Octopus. Both were excellent. The pizza had a wonderful crispy thin crust with thin slices of delicious prosciutto topped with fresh thin shavings of Parmesan cheese. There were six pieces altogether. The Salt & Pepper Australian Octopus was super tender and flavorful. It was topped with thin slices of red chili pepper which kicked up the spice level if you choose to eat them. We were stuffed but the waitress talked us into looking at the dessert menu. We couldn't resist the Affogato with a side of Tuaca and biscottis with pistachios. Judy doesn't drink so I took care of the Tuaca on my own . It was so delicious we couldn't believe we finished the whole thing. The service was excellent. Very attentive and friendly. We will definitely come back on our next trip. Follow my food adventure on IG @tazebudshawaii Happy Eating !!

Hugo's is a cute restaurant in Manly right on the water. The restaurant is open-air and serves pizza and seafood. We made a reservation for 7PM on a Tuesday evening. When we arrived, we were seated immediately in a table with beach and harbor views. Our server was OK - she didn't seem to know a ton about the menu (more on that later) but she was attentive and seemed to always be around our general area. We ordered some drinks, appetizers, and entrees. For the appetizers, we got both types of oysters (regular oysters with sherry/shallot mignonette and a fried one with horseradish and caviar). I don't eat horseradish so I only tried the former, but everyone else seemed to enjoy the fried one. I liked the natural oysters a lot; we were off to a good start. We each ordered a personal pizza. They were all served as thin crust. One pizza is enough to feed one person, and each is in the 20-30$ range. We ordered: -Mushroom - wild mushrooms, taleggio, goat's curd & caramelised onions -Chorizo - La Boqueria chorizo, olives, chilli, smoked mozzarella, red onions & rouille dressing -Fig - fresh figs, crispy pancetta, gorgonzola, tomato & basil -Pork - slow roasted pork belly with sweet & sour onions, radicchio & bocconcini mozzarella I ordered the mushroom pizza, and it was excellent. It was lemony and the mushrooms were fresh. I didn't get a lot of goat cheese flavor, but it was still excellent. The chorizo pizza had a bit of a kick, and I enjoyed the meat itself. The fig pizza was interesting - the grilled tomatoes on top added to it. Didn't get much gorgonzola, though. Lastly, the pork was OK - not my favorite. It was strangely EXTREMELY spicy, and our server didn't know why (I found it odd that she didn't know if it was weird for a particular pizza to be spicy or not). We asked if any of the ingredients themselves were spicy and she just shrugged. There wasn't much mozzarella on this, either. All in all, we enjoyed most of the food and certainly enjoyed the views. The ingredients were fresh and all added to the pizza. We heard that the dessert pizza was really good, but we didn't have any room left for it. Maybe next time!

Ocean view on outside deck is actually worth the wait for 1/2 hour considering we didn't make any reservations for Sunday dinner. We came right in the middle of rush Sunday dinner around 7.30pm and we found that the place was jam packed full house! Starter: We ordered ham croquette, with truffle mayonnaise, it was nice and delicate. The antipasto platter was amazingly good; Italian meat ball, so packed full of flavour, Calamari was tender and very crispy with light battered, Fig & prosciutto salad is well dressed, and also came with freshly shucked oyster. Main: Queensland Spanner Crab Spaghettini was EVO base and hint of chilli, i found just right amount of oil to coats the pasta, beautiful clean flavour dish. Fig pizza also delicious, but to my liking the pizza base is a little salty, since it served also with beautiful prosciutto, however, to me, sweetness from fresh fig that just on season is right on the money, can't really complaint! Dessert: "Pick Me Up" a little need more liquor kick, amaretto or frangelico is my recommendation, since I barely notice alcohol on this dessert, however the winning dish for tonight is the sticky date pudding, absolute winner and you must try! If only I have space in my greedy tummy, I would like to order more just for my self! Service: Was very attentive, waitress always check on every sequence meal if everything's ok, well done!

It's a lovely spot, right on the wharf. And it's got a bustling, buzzy atmosphere. The pizzas we had were OK, but weren't any better than anywhere else, and much less impressive than many of the spots in Haberfield or Lane Cove. Especially for the price. And my god the place is full of trendy posers. It felt like about half of them were here for dinner because it's the place to be seen in Manly. Service was quite good, though, they took good care of us. And the wine list is pretty spesh. A mixed bag all in all, but as value for money, it's not quite there.

Fantastic setting & Service! By far the most enjoyable meal in Sydney yet! Tables really comfortable, we got to lounge at our table on the deck from 4.30 til 7.15pm, enjoying Antipasti, jugs of Pimms & beers, followed by mains! Plus we even got to experience sunset, which is a must from this location! Thank you so much, thoroughly enjoyable afternoon!!!

Phenomenal food! The first night we came here it was a 2-hour wait on a Saturday night. We opted out. The second time was a Monday night and it was a 30-minute wait. After eating here, I can say without hesitation I would wait 2 hours for this meal!! We started with the fig, Gorgonzola, arugula and prosciutto pizza that had a perfect balance of sweet, salty, savory and fresh flavors. Then for our main course we split a Wagyu sirloin and the summer vegetable risotto, and then finished our meal with a blueberry cheesecake. Everything was exquisite!! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and especially those with the most discerning tastebuds!! 6-stars!!

A follow on from the incredibly successful Hugo's Kings Cross, Hugo's at Manly Wharf is a runaway success too! Having said that, it's a success in a completely different way, but that's just location talking; a bar on the breathtaking Manly Wharf will always be a little slower, a little more relaxed than one in the frantic King's Cross. Although not a particularly frequent visitor (it hurts my poor little student wallet too much), I do like Hugo's at Manly. The pizza is very, very tasty - but also, very (only one very, not two) expensive for what you get. Somewhere to get your parents to take you for sure! They also do not permit BYO - fairly natural for somewhere that profits from being a bar as well as a restaurant, but annoying during the day! A great spot for a sunny Sunday lunch - I'd recommend the prawn and chilli pizza!

Stopped for lunch in hugos after wandering around manly for the day. Great spot by the water watching the ferries coming and going. Started with a salt and pepper octopus followed it with a cracking ham pizza and mushrooms. Everything was very tasty and the service was attentive but not overly so. All in all a very solid choice.

Amazing pizza. Great views. Friendly service. Reasonable prices. I had the lamb with arugula pizza today. It was awesome.

Yes, Hugo's is a pizza restaurant. But it's undoubtedly one of the best dining experiences we had in Australia. It's a beautiful restaurant. At night it's dimly lit and the ambiance is fantastic. We ordered the "Hawaiian" pizza and it was unreal. It was so good we didn't have time to take a picture. However we started with the Grilled Yamba King Prawns and I think these might be the best prawns I've ever eaten. It tasked like a mix between lobster and langoustine. Wow. This place is a must if you're ever in Manly!

I needn't have, as it turns out. De Vita, right in the heart of Manly, delivered wood-fired Napoli-style pizza that delivered on all counts. There was a wide choice but I settled on the Contadina: pancetta, wood-fire-roasted potatoes, and fior di latte cheese. Very thin and flavourful. My wife had the Regina (cherry tomatoes, fior di latte cheese, prosciutto, rocket, Parmesan, olive oil, basil) and proclaimed it delicious. The calamari starter we shared was large but lightly battered, with fresh, tender squid chunks. The wine list looked good, but we brought our own as they're also BYO. The atmosphere and surroundings are OK; It's quite open to the street (at least during warmer weather) which is good if you like buzzy going-on, not so much if you want quiet romance. Service was quick, friendly, and happy to make recommendations. Pizza fix: acquired.

Cafes serving glorified couscous salads at four times its market value are at 80% occupancy. Lukewarm, bitter coffee gets top rated and queues round the block. And somehow, I come to De Vita at lunchtime on a weekday and we are the only customers bar another table. This restaurant is fantastic. When the lunch special - all pizze at $15 - is on, it is even more fantastic. This is proper Neapolitan pizza, made to order, with ingredients that aren't bottom shelf Coles. I mean, there is not much else to say - if you know what Neapolitan pizza is, you will know, if you don't, I can't describe it in a way that would bring it across. It bears little resemblance to Domino's. At $15, on the overpriced Sydney market, you are almost robbing them. To be a fair reviewer, I have to add that the spaghetti gamberi were pretty average. Lacking in taste and salt, not the best prawns, small-ish portion. This is most definitely a pizzeria and that's what you should order (and an espresso afterwards). The service is Italian, that means efficient and a little direct, and the smile will be a little dry. This does not mean they do not like you. It's just how things are in Italy and the guys haven't quite adjusted to the matey Australian ways. Perhaps it is that it is on a side street, not on the Corso. Perhaps they need to hang a fixie upside down at the back and buy some tables made of century old wreckage wood fished out by divers wearing copper diving bells ironically. Perhaps what Australians (and the tourists and WHV expats that, to be honest, form 90% of Manly residents) want when they order a pizza is thick undercooked dough covered in low quality fat and protein, and they are surprised not to get that. Perhaps nobody reads TripAdvisor anymore (where they are in the top 10 restaurants for Manly, which is how I found them). I don't know. I don't care. Just go.

Firstly, after mentioning our fav types of wine, the waitress gave us great tips on which wine we would most likely be into. In turn we ended up with a very inexpensive wine that was at the same time amazing. We ordered the arancini balls chef special to start. Instead of the usual intense deep fried small arancini you would get at most Italian joints in Sydney, we received deliciously large BAKED arancini balls.. They were absolutely to die for. I seriously hope they become a part of the regular menu for next time we come here. Having the word Pizza in the restaurant title made us certain to order pizzas for our first visit. I'm glad we did. First was the pepperoni, which was the first perfectly balanced pepperoni pizza I've had. By simply adding capsicum (red peppers) they made what is regularly known as an intense pizza, something truly delightful and wholesome. Secondly was the extremely fun, 'quattro formaggio' aka the 4 cheese pizza.. No messing around here. A straight up cheesefest on a pizza. Perfect remedy for any mildly hungover couple. Be sure to ask for a side of chili oil as that, drizzled lightly over the Quattro Formaggio is a dangerously tasty combination. Lastly, to feel a touch more human and break up all the fun we thought we oughta grab a side of Italian salad. It had its purpose and most certainly did its job. The tables at this place are dressed in gorgeous checkered Italian tablecloths and from every vibe I got, this is a family owned and operated restaurant. My partner and I are already extremely excited about coming here on a regular basis as it ticks all the boxes.
