Chocolate Fondant Dessert with vanilla ice cream and pistachios $13

Came here from 5.30pm to meet with friends and left at 9.00pm. The Canopy is a great spot for a relaxed meal, without the rush. For mains, I ordered fettuccine. The pasta was absolutely delicious, al dente and cooked perfectly. The sauce was flavoursome and not too thick, with pieces of bacon and mushroom throughout. This was only $20 and I got a huge bowl of pasta which my friend helped me to eat after she finished her meal. My friends ordered the beef cheeks and the risotto which both looked delicious. For dessert, I had the molten lava cake which was ooey and delicious - just as you want it. $13 My friend had an affogato which she said was really well made and tasted delicious $13 The servers were really nice. One of the male employees had a bit of cheek but he was funny and friendly. I would definitely come here again for a casual meal.

    Great breakfast at The Canopy.

Excellent service - we went there for breakfast with a $20 Groupon and were greeted by friendly staff, seated by a window, and served large portions of tasty food. We ordered Sweet Corn and Zucchini Fritters and the Canopy's Big Brekky, as well as Lemongrass Tea and a Café Latte. The fritters were flavourful and presentable, and topped off with pleasant smoked salmon. The Big Brekky was filling and delicious with its crispy bacon and eggs scrambled to perfection. My coffee was amazing and was very aesthetically pleasing too. Great views and great food - also for such a low price. $20 for over $40 worth of food. However there was no different treatment or lower food quality due to buying with a Groupon. Would definitely go again.

The Canopy restaurant offers prime views out over Hyde Park onto the Anzac Memorial. The restaurant offers dining and takeaway coffees and pastries. The restaurant is a little more up market with waiters and waitresses dressed in suits and more formal attire. With that said the prices don't come with a premium. I decided to try it out for breakfast. I ordered a Chai Latte and Zucchini and Corn fritters. The service was good without being exceptional. The drinks came out quickly and the quality of coffee was very good. The breakfast arrived to the table and thumbs up for the presentation it was excellent. Really displayed well. The zucchini fritters were also delicious too and good serving size. I was left fully content after the meal even though I had just finished a run. My friend ordered the Eggs Benedict with Truffle and salmon and it tasted very nice too. Good eatery and will need to check it out for a lunch or dinner some time .

Customer service was pretty poor, but the meals were quite good. Got pizza, nachos and risottos with the people I went with. Would come back but it was average.

We came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning, and with greatly reduced traffic noise - it was quite pleasant sitting outside. I imagine during a busy weekday it would be hard to hear yourself think. We ordered the French toast and the corn fritters and a couple of coffees. In general, I would describe the food as "OK". Nothing wrong with it, nothing great about it. Likewise the coffee. It tasted OK without being awesome. The French toast brioche was light and fluffy, and the caramelised banana was slightly over done and on the edge of being too mushy - but still acceptable. The main issue was the gallon of thick maple syrup - I'd probably go for a lighter blend if I were the chef. The vanilla ice cream that was supposed to come with it, didn't. So maybe that would have cut through the syrup. The corn fritters I am told we're slightly dry but still edible. The suggestion from the critic across from me was that maybe a creme fraise would have gone better than the goats cheese crumble - again the balance the textures. As you can plainly see - we've been watching way too much Masterchef. The staff were friendly and polite and the service was very efficient - so top marks for that. On the weekends there aren't many breakfast options in the city. If I was in the area, I'd come here again - but probably wouldn't make the hike on purpose.

On a raining Sunday afternoon, it's nice to step into a dry, roomy and warm welcoming space for a while. Sodden from a heavy downpour, I am met at the door, invited to leave my umbrella to dry where it's safe and shown to my table. The service is very nice. The outlook is onto Hyde Park which is pleasant. The decor is ambient with tree sculptures adorning the walls, hence the "canopy". I enjoy a hot coffee and my companion has a Sauvignon Blanc with shoestring fries. Just the thing to warm us up! It's the kind of place we felt welcome to sit in for hours, very relaxed and nice. Thank you.

On a crisp day in Sydney a creamy bacon & mushroom fettuccini takes me to a much warmer place. What a delight Canopy provides for cold hands and paws. Its presentation of this simple Italian dish feels just right. And the glow of warm service is up there with the best.

The fish of the day, can't remember what it was called but it was brilliant

The ambiance was chic & cute, and the server was great! I honestly felt like I was back in the US for some reason!

My second and most recent visit helped extinguish that memory. Our waitress was very lively and sweet. She gave us plenty of time to look over our menus and made solid recommendations. I ordered the Spaghetti Alla Norma and it was pretty tasty. I also sampled some of the polenta chips which were surprisingly good. We opted to get dessert elsewhere but overall the food was pretty good. I'd like this place more if the prices were a little lower and they had more basic pastas available. I'm not a fan of seafood or mushrooms and can't handle spicy so I felt a little limited...although the pumpkin ravioli was tempting. Next time!

On Macquarie Street next door to the Land & Environment Court and across the road from the NSW Parliament. When you get to the Macquarie Street entrance walk down the stairs. There is a bar and restaurant (Café Sopra) which offers delicious meals made with fresh ingredients. No fresh produce available at this Fratelli's. The restaurant was buzzing with suits. To start we got the zucchini fritters, burrata, and the cold meats plate. All very tasty. Then for mains i got the pork sausage pizza - i thought it was ok, hardly much pork on the pizza. I got to sample a few other pastas such as the lamb raguy and the polenta with mushrooms and gorgonzola - the polenta was very good! Lots of sauce and went really well with the polenta. For wine we tried the fratelli fresh pino grigio and it had more of a sharp after taste. Overall, I thought the food was good, I enjoyed all the entree's and the other mains except mine.
