I went for the first time today and had the best quiche Lorraine. it was so willing and smooth with great flavor. Delicious! We also got lattes that were yummy and they offered milk alternatives too. My daughter got a hot chocolate. they make them from real chocolate, yum! My daughter ordered the Nutella and banana crepes, which were also delicious. This is like the 4th croissant sandwich I've given five stars to recently, or something like that. I'm starting to question my own judgment. This croissant is even better than most of the other ones though, except maybe the one at the Parakeet Cafe. That one was like an illegal substance. This also has impressive flavor between the avocado and eggs. The coffee is good. I wasn't a huge fan of this kind of cup in the past, but this one actually has a large enough handle. And I also had a salmon crepe. The salmon is deliciously smoky of course. The tartar-coded white sauce is also a treat. Honestly, I'm not the biggest crepe simp; not that I dislike crepes, but I don't exactly crave them. However, savory crepes seem to hack into my zone by no longer being dessert. It's small inside but there is seating outside also with a big screen Television to watch sports. It is a very cute place that reminded me a quaint French restaurant we visited in Paris for baked goods. We were seated at a table inside and given menus to look over. We ordered chocolate croissants and cappuccino / coffee before we ordered breakfast. The croissants were warm and gooey when they came and the cappuccino took me back to Paris. What a great little place on Third in Chula Vista. We had the Croque Madam which had a creamy béchamel sauce, tasty cheese but not overpowering, thin sliced tender ham, and the sunny side egg. Delicious! The "side" salad that accompanied it was the star: fresh crispy lettuce, juicy sweet berries, fresh tomatoes, and a light dressing. It was a perfect pairing with the rich entree. The iced vanilla latte was smooth (they use Illy coffee products) and delicious The restaurant is decorated so happily: Chagall art work throughout, chandeliers with braided metal flowers, striped pillars, orange floor. Came here on Mother's Day morning as soon as it opened. There were only 2 other tables with customers seated inside and 1 table with customers seated outside. Although there appeared to be 3 staff working the cafe, only 1 appeared to be taking orders. We ordered a the berrie and chantilly crepe to share as they did. It have the ingredients for the crepe Suzette. We also ordered a croque monsieur to share also. The food was EXCELLENT however the service was extremely slow...it took a very long time just to get water at the table and even longer for the coffee and food. Absolutely incredible Sunday breakfast. Highly recommend both the Salmon Crepe with a farm fresh egg and the Croque Madame was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. This is nice little French Cafe just getting under way. I had a ham and cheese croissant and a Cafe au lait for breakfast. The cafe au lait was quite good. It was smooth and rich and came nicely presented in a wide cup. The ham and cheese croissant was tasty. It came with a decent amount of ham, however I did not like the way they chopped it up. Also, they need to make sure they clean the griddle between cooking sessions, because the ham picked up some that black burnt food from the griddle. The croissant was soft and butter with a touch of flakiness. The meal came with a small side salad with greens, tomatoes, and vinaigrette. A touch of freshly ground black pepper would have been nice. Such a darling addition to 3rd Avenue! Suzette is super cute, inside and out. I absolutely love all the hand-painted floral light fixtures. The staff was friendly and service was great. Was greeted by Adrian (I believe that was his name) and he had great suggestions I went with the classic latte and salmon crêpe. The latte was yummy and the salmon crêpe was very savory! The latte was amazing and my omelette was also amazing, I really loved the type of bacon they use for the omelette. The staff is very friendly and they will answer any of your questions. Another thing I enjoyed was the music they were playing during my breakfasts. My wife had the chocolate croissant and she really liked it. I came across this place on accident and am glad it happened. Since I was looking to grab a simple breakfast and some coffee, this place caught me by surprise. I ordered the following to go: 1) Baguette with butter and jam. The simplicity hit the spot for me. The bread was nicely toasted, and soft on the center. The butter was slightly savory and creamy with a hint floral essence. The jam was so yummy and you can tell it was made with love and intentionality. I highly recommend this simple yet beautifully curated of flavors and textures. 2) Macchiato with oat milk and vanilla syrup. The drink was well made. It's a rarity to have a well portioned coffee to enjoy. It was actually made the right way where the serving size is 3 ozs, not the chain style coffee that is often 12+ ozs. I highly recommend folks to check out this place if you're in the area. The staff are super nice and friendly. You can tell they care about the service, the food and the drinks. Had such a lovely lunch with friends today at this small French creperie in Chula Vista, just wanted to jump on here and write a quick review about it. It is darling, would be a sweet date spot. (And close to the Farmer's Market, so we had a nice walk around afterwards.) It's very reasonably priced and the service is good and quick. There was some pretty French music playing inside which I really liked. The owner, Jerome, talked with us for a bit. He is a fascinating guy from Paris. The quiches were delicious and the crusts on the bottom were better than I've ever had in a quiche. I had the salmon crepe, with leeks and a light creme and lox. Omigosh!!!!!!!!!!!! So, so good.
