Even more overwhelming when you're reading random yelp reviews, but it's probably late night, and you're trying to make a decision, so here we go--I think her glory days are behind her so whatever accolades she's garnered have everything to do with her past. She's pretty condescending, rushes you out the door, and yeah, just thumbs down. I would recommend Suzanne retires from the medical field and head off to work on a farm growing mushrooms. I'm not one to post negative reviews, but this Dr. is incredibly cold and uncaring. She prescribed me hormones without doing blood work then when I had horrible pain and ended up in ER.. she attempted a biopsy without the sedation I requested. when I screamed from the pain, she threw down her instruments and said "we're done here if you don't stop screaming". I was in tears after all I had gone through... just getting the appointment for biopsy took a month. I was never a priority and she didn't even greet me when she entered the procedure room. I have then since found a remarkable and caring Dr. with much better bedside manner. I wouldn't trust this Dr. period, she doesn't give one thought about you. read more

had to cancel a procedure because her office messed up on the dosage of medication before the procedure. I called her emergency line a few times around 11 pm to figure out what to do and they never returned my call! what if I was in labor or had an emergency???? I ended up not doing the procedure and the other gynos said that it wasn't even necessary. And that it could have made my complications worst to have a baby. read more

Suzanne, had me on hormone therapy replacement of highest dose - something that is only given to patients with serious problems and mostly for 6 months - for 7 years. When I started bleeding daily for a whole year - I'm post-menopausal - she had no idea what was happening. She literally threw her arms up in the air. At the end of the year, I went to see another doctor, who in 5 mins told me exactly what was happening. I was drowning in hormones. It's interesting she's writing about post-menopausal women. The trauma she caused me both psychologically as well as physically will never be repaired. read more

First time patient and never even got to meet the doctor. After making an appointment 4 weeks in advance for myself and my daughters the doctor canceled my appointment a week before. I was rescheduled for two weeks out only to be called the morning of and told she may be running late because she was on call and at the hospital. ( why schedule new patients during this time ?) While driving to office 10 minutes before my appt. I got the call that she couldn't make it! I read previous terrible reviews about her making her patients wait, even while in the delivery room, but chalked it up to rightfully angry patients expressing frustration. I am here to say it's all true! The office staff is rude and condescending and the doctor's attitude lacks respect for anyone else's schedule but her own. At the time I was having some irregularity but nothing major. She sent me a notice for a follow up 6 months later, which I assumed was a follow up examination. *Note to Dr. Lenz- if you think what I wrote is slanderous, just look at the OTHER bad reviews below* I have been to Dr. Gilberg-Lenz several times, but not because I feel confident in her or her staff, but because like many people, it is hard for me to find a good gyno that I can stick with. Anna is very rude on the phone and does not accommodate patients. I've had a very bad bacterial infection for 2 weeks and I had to call back Dr. Lenz and BEG her to give me the right medicine. When she or Dale are on the phone, they always make you feel like you are a pain in the ass and really, they have better things to do so make it quick kind of attitude. I have never felt so uncared for by any type of doctor. I am looking for a new gyno as I type. They ran tests and gave me the wrong antibiotics before the test came back. It was so hard to contact Dr. Lenz to follow up to get through that wall of rude people, from Anna to the front desk ladies. It is always so hard to get my prescriptions sent because they say they will send it and they don't. So I finally get a call back from Dale and she tells me the one I have will clear it up. She promises to send new birth control, but surprise, my pharmacy did not receive anything AGAIN. Then I suffer another weekend and finally get a hold of Lenz where she explains then I NEED another antibiotic. Also, abruptly tells me after 5 minutes of me asking serious questions, "I have to go now" CLICK! My condition was not improving the next day so I left her a message and she called me back. Dr. Lenz was very caring towards me and we discussed what were the next steps. She even said I should come in. I was about to alter my review, and to increase it and modify it, but then she mentioned my review on yelp. She pretty much mentioned that I was writing things that were slanderous and that I needed to find someone else. She told me that I should not write that Dale Perry didn't know anything, because in my opinion she doesn't! (Do you guys have any idea how much I've spent on antibiotics that were wrong for me? Missed work?) Maybe Dale Perry does know something, she just doesn't care enough about her patients to get it done! She always talks to me in a belittling manner. I began to cry and explain to Dr. Lenz that I stood by my review and that all the things were true and then my cell phone died. I called to make an appt and I was made very clear they DO not validate parking which is ok you know I can live with that, but she is booked full until March and I need a new prescription for bc NOW. I would give Dr. Gilberg-lenz no stars if that was possible. In 2017 I was pregnant with IVF twins. She was my ob so after IVF clinic discharged me I followed up with her for the short duration of my pregnancy. I was clearly a high risk patient (something I didn't realize then) and should have been referred to a high risk provider. Instead she managed my care. At 20 weeks I was in early labor and admitted to cedars. All the cedars residents told me there was nothing to be done. No attending came by to see him until a day had passed. Instead of offering me options, she came to my bedside and cried with my husband and I telling us this was the hardest part of her job and that we in fact wouldn't want 24 week old twins (even if I made it that far). I was lucky enough to be transferred to UCLA to receive care from one of the most renown perinatologists who saved my pregnancy and my twins. The twins were born early and we dealt with many complications, however, I am beyond thankful to have my miracle babies. Unfortunately, if you are high risk anything please do not trust her to provide care. read more

Thanks to good Yelp reviews, I had my first visit with Dr. Gilberg-Lenz today. In general, the experience was a mixed bag but the negatives were no one's fault, really. For example, the building has valet parking, which I incorrectly read as "free parking." (I'll get to that later.) I arrived about ten minutes late, I'll admit, but still waited about half an hour to be seen. I was having my annual exam, so at first I saw the doctor's assistant (extremely nice) and then met Dr. Gilberg-Lenz in her office. She's young, friendly and puts you at ease. The exam wasn't any more uncomfortable than normal (I mean, it IS a pelvic exam) and the doctor recommended that I get a bone density test since I've been on Depo-Provera (a godsend) for many years. What's nice about this office, rather than smaller ones, is the capability to do things like bone-density scans in-house, rather than sending you elsewhere. Long story short - the scan was easy, painless and the technician was also extremely nice. I met with Dr. Gilberg-Lenz briefly afterwards - she explained the results (nothing to worry about) and on my way out, I scheduled my next Depo injection. For a big office, it was a well-oiled machine - despite seeing multiple people (doctor, assistant, technician, scheduler) everything ran smoothly. I should mention, though, that for a 9:45 appointment, I didn't leave until noon, and the bone density test took all of ten minutes. This may because the practice IS large and has multiple doctors - the waiting room remained nearly full the entire morning. My last gripe is about the aforementioned parking. Granted, I was there over two hours, but I was charged $13.20 for parking. I don't have a Beverly Hills parking permit, so street parking is out of the question. Being stuck with paying for parking every three months for my injection is a bit of a pain but I'll give it a shot (no pun intended) for the time being. So, in a nutshell - I recommend Dr. Gilberg-Lenz, just don't go if you're in a hurry :) [ Update! Apparently there's free parking on the side streets south of the building! Dr. Gilberg-Lenz delivered my daughter 6.5 yrs ago at CS not sure why I'm reviewing now but here's the deal: She's freaking awesome...it was a rough delivery...things got hairy but she handled it and rallied the "team" and drove hard for the win...her depth of knowledge and ability helped me to be strong...I was pretty scared and that doesn't happen. My little one was doing her newborn thing and a couple of Residents came rolling in and tried to be harda$$ and really disrupted the bonding. Dr. Gilberg-Lenz asked them to take a step back and they balked. I about lost my shi# and Dr. Gilbert-Lenz literally grabbed me by my face and said with fire in her eyes "Papa Bear...I'm a passionate person too...I got this...go be with your wife and baby"...and she went to bat. I'll never forget that...this little lady grabbing a torqued off 6'2" 225lb man by his face and giving me permission not to be a harda$$. My point is she's on your side and willing to roll up her sleeves and crack some skulls as your advocate. She's the real deal! She sets the bar pretty high and if I ever am blessed with another child she'll be there to run the show! I don't think I ever got the chance to thank her...but I guess I'm kinda doing it now. To the Dr.: my girl is doing awesome. She's a wonderful child and a beautiful, brilliant little bada$$ to boot! I LOVE Dr. Gilberg-Lenz. I have been going to her regularly for 8 years now (WOW that's a long time.. I didn't even realize it until I counted) and she's the best. She is always very friendly, and super easy to talk to. Even when I was in my teens and scared to talk about anything, I always felt comfortable with her. She's my friend on Twitter! hehe Making appointments has always been easy for me. I love the ladies at reception. They know me when I call, and they're very sweet. As far as wait time... Well, what do you expect from a busy Beverly Hills doctor's office? They're much quicker than most other doctors I have visited. I have called the office for minor problems, and Dale Perry (Nurse Practitioner) got back to me super quickly with an answer, and a prescription called into my pharmacy (when needed). Parking in the building is a no-go for me. Street parking is usually easy, and walking a couple blocks beats paying the expensive BH valet costs. I highly recommend Dr. Gilberg-Lenz for anyone looking for a good OBGYN. I'm sorry if the other reviewers on here had a bad experience, but everyone who I know who goes here, loves her. I've been going to Dr. Gilberg-Lenz for 4 years now. She has always been a fantastic doctor. Her bedside manner is what we all wish for - kind, concerned, etc. She performed surgery on me a couple of years ago at Cedars and it was a great success. Now I'm expecting my first child and I'm glad she will be the one to deliver him/her. The office is a bit hectic. Be warned, because of this, the communication breaks down at times. Best OBGYN I've ever been to hands down! Efficient, friendly, down to earth, and THOROUGH. Doesn't give you dissmissive Dr. Babble if you have a question. She takes the time to go through your options and finds a solution to all of your questions. She even helped me discover that I had a tilted uterus (and explained in depth what the hell that means)-RAD! Dr. Gilbert Lenz is still awesome. I recommend. Been going here for a few years now. I have no babies so I come here for annuals and breast check ups. Found a small mass in my breast and they saw me next day and sent me to get mammogram and sonogram an hour after my exam. Everything is happy with this tities but I was so relieved and impressed to get immediate service. Nothing's worse than stressing about that while you wait for appts. Had my annual a few weeks later. The office is a little behind. Waited an hour for appt but it did seem like the preggos girls went right in, like immediately. Good news if you're preggos! Gilbert is very smart, funny, and is good at listening and taking your seriously. She's very present in her appts. Parking: one hour parking in Beverly Hills a block down. I was there for two hours, never gotten a ticket. I did inform her that I'm taking lots of supplements for my menstrual symptoms. FYI to everyone, these have been lifesavers. Evening primrose for breast tenderness!!Magnesium/calcium for soreness. Bcomplex for cycle. D for moods. Cranberry for bladder. Maca for fatigue. Probiotic for digestion. I have to say, it was a great one! I just recently (Feb) had my first baby and the whole process was very positive. She offers various options and what I liked the most was my delivery. Suzanne is the best doctor period! I have seen many gynecologists throughout my life and have now found the best one. For starters her bedside manners are the best. She is so kind, and listens and makes you feel completely safe and comfortable. I have been seeing her for several years now and my experience with her is a world of a difference. The most telling was with my recent visit. I had an IUD from a different doctor about 10 years ago and it was the worst medical moment I have ever had. About six weeks ago Dr. Lenz gave me one and it was easy breezy. It was mild discomfort but she talked me through the whole thing and had an assistant helping her with a sonogram. The entire process took less than 3 minutes and she was the best! I was so scared and now that I have done this with her I know she truly is the best doctor. I owe a lot to Dr. GL...she gave me my life back. After dealing with a PH imbalance for nearly 5 years, she was the one doctor to figure out what was going on and how to treat it. Within three months, the five years of excruciating pain and discomfort was reversed. Dr. GL has ALWAYS tended to my needs in a TIMELY manner. If I ran out of pills...she's given me a temporary refill until I could make it in the office. If I was in pain...she would fit me in for a visit the next day. Just recently, I found myself in her office crying and hugging her because I've been going through a rather tumultuous time in my life. She is comforting, caring, and dedicated. Some may find her demeanor short or cold...but she's just upfront, and I like that about her. It's true that it can be very difficult to get an appointment with her, but I don't see that as a reason to give her a low rating. In fact, that should be an indication as to what a greatly appreciated doctor she is! I know to schedule my appointments in advanced, and the wait is well worth it. The only reason I docked a star is because I do find that she can run behind for appointments. I know that this is because she can get tied up giving attention to her patients, which is GREAT, but her staff needs to do a better job of keeping the other clients who are waiting informed of the timeframe. I also have had a few unpleasant run-ins with her assistants (who I believe have changed a few times?). They can be a little rude sometimes. Other than that, Dr. GL is a five-star doc. This doctor fell below the standard of care when I saw her years back for pregnancy. As other reviewers have noted, she has poor bedside manners, and responds to patient concerns with cavalier remarks. Beyond that, she puts her own personal lifestyle above patient safety. I had to be induced at 39 weeks, and she gave me Pitocin and later broke my water to induce labor. When I was about 6 cm dilated, she instructed the nurses to turn down the Pitocin dose so she could go attend a PTA meeting at her kid's school. While she was out, I developed complications, started sweating and vomiting, and my baby experienced fetal distress. The nurses called her, and she showed up much later, telling me that there were too many complications and she would have to do an emergency C-section. The delivery was at Cedars and she could not find another Ob-gyn staff to assist, so she enlisted an orthopedic surgery student to help with the C-section. During surgery, they made jokes about not keeping track of all surgical instruments they were using. She then left even before the orthopedic surgery student was done stitching the incisions. In retrospect, I should have filed a complaint against her with Cedars and the Medical Board. read more

She screwed up during a major surgery and has taken no ownership. I am in excruciating pain and instead of her listening to the patient who knows her body she just tells me to take pain meds. I was in the hospital for weeks due to her surgical error and have had multiple surgeries to repair the damage and am still dealing with painful procedures. I can't digest food, have normal bowel movements, or wear clothes that touch my abdomen. I have a horrible scar that i was told too late to mitigate with cream yet i can't even touch that area due to pain and I was told by her in the office it would be laproscopic until she called the day before surgery denying she ever said that. Yet promised me it would be better to do abdominally. Now I am numb in my genitals, have a dislodged stent pressing against my bladder, and havent had a pain free day/night in three months. I can barely work, barely walk, barely do anything and i am told its my fault and this is a normal risk of the procedure. Had that been the case does anyone think I'd have done this? She ruined my life. Don't let her ruin yours. read more

I found Dr. Gilberg-Lenz after moving to LA from NYC. I had tried two other doctors before discovering her. She has been my doctor now for over five years and I could not be happier. She is a wonderful person, an amazing doctor and the office is very nice. She spends a great deal of time whenever I come to her with a problem and always makes me feel cared for and comfortable. I had my first baby two years ago and ended up having a high risk pregnancy situation. She guided me through it with ease and I had the most amazing pregnancy and delivery. Having her deliver my baby was absolutely wonderful. She allowed me many choices in the delivery process and I felt totally at ease in a situation that originally was terrifying to me. I was looking for a doctor who could help me navigate thru menopause. My first visit with Dr. Gilberg-Lenz was fine, I was pre-menopausal and still not understanding all the crazy symptoms and changes that were going on in my body...trust me there are a lot! I recall a brief discussion about trying to start slow with acupuncture and herbs. Several months in and as my hormones took a major dive which results in things like memory confusion, memory loss, depression and the feeling that you are going crazy...I found a Physicians Assistant nearby who did some blood tests, sat with me and explained every symptom and why each one was happening based on my blood tests and a suggested plan of bio-identical meds and vitamins to help me. She was so kind and provided so much information that I trusted her and started the program. She even detected an issue with my thyroid and gave me something for that - that has made a huge difference in my life. When it was time for my check up with Dr.G-L. I told her what I was going thru and how hard it has been for me and wanted her opinion offering her the blood test results. Wow! She snapped at me saying she didn't need to see blood-work to tell me that I was going thru menopause and basically yelled at me for seeing the Physicians Assistant who actually held my had thru a very difficult transition in my life. She actually had me in tears as I tried to tell her that I didn't know what to do or who to turn to and that none of the doctors I have seen has sat down and explained or validated some of the things I was going thru. Her behavior and response was horrible, she was anything but kind and caring, not even and ounce of compassion. She was cold, harsh and dismissive. I could write a novel here and I know you don't have the time to read it. I have never written a review for a doctor before but in the case of Dr. Gilberg Lenz I feel I must. I went to her as an over 40 year old pregnant woman who wanted a natural birth. My previous doctor had told me that because of my age she wouldn't let me go more than a week past my due date and Dr. GL seemed to be okay with letting things take their natural course. She actually specifically said she was fine up to two weeks. It wasn't, in fact, until I actually WAS past my due date the truth came out and she also started mentioning induction. Fortunately I went into labor before a week had passed. We had, in the last few appointments, had several unpleasant confrontational conversations about wait times and the doctor - patient relationship. As my birth approached it became clear to me that she does not like to be questioned but rather prefers the sort of patient who will treat her as the voice of total authority because, after all, SHE is a doctor and you are only a "patient". I had made an appointment elsewhere (even at the 11th hour) when my labor started and I ended up calling her anyway. She was rude and dismissive to me when she finally came to the hospital. She strong armed me into letting the nurses break my water because it was taking too long for her, I guess. I had a long labor (not her fault) and pushed for hours with no result. She had a schedule C section at another hospital so I was essentially sidelined until she could come back and perform mine. They did this by talking me into an epidural and despite me asking for it to be a light as possible it knocked me right out. When I came to I had a pitocin drip despite specifically being told it would not be done without my permission. None of this is the true crux of my complaint. I was told to push too early by the nurses and it was a nurse who pushed my belly so hard that I was able to feel my baby move out of position. The fact I ended up with a C section really lies as much on the shoulders of the staff at Cedar's than Dr. GL. The real problem I have with her and the one which haunts me to this day is that she promised me that even in the operating room I would be handed my baby immediately. Instead she was taken from me to weigh and clean despite having perfect scores and being in vital health. Not many moments of my life felt worse than to be left there on my own to recover. I insisted my husband accompany the baby, of course. To add insult to injury she had another doctor assist her in the C section and they were casually discussing holiday plans and had made comments about my own colorful language. I'm sorry but honestly, whatever a woman in labor says is her own business and yours to let go in one ear and out the other. I was cursing like a sailor and a lot of it was directed at her but what kind of OB lets that get to her and has the extreme lack of tact to mention it? Here I was about to accept a C section after trying for 72 hours to have a natural birth. The last thing my doctor should be concerned with is what I am saying. She should keep her mind on the work and rise above it. She should also have empathy for my disappointment. Having the opportunity to see my newborn angel would have gone a great way to ameliorate the situation and that is a moment of my little one's life I will never get back. My totally uneven herniated c section incision is a daily reminder of her ineptitude. I was also completely aghast to have a total stranger once refer to this review in a not very kind manner and I thought about removing it but if I can do some good by warning people, I guess I must. read more

After reading all the great reviews about Dr. Lenz I was sure that I had found my doctor. First trying to make an appointment seemed impossible, multiple times I tried to call for a new patient and could not get through. You would think that this would be my first sign that she was not worth it but against my better judgment I drove down there and paid the over priced valet parking, just to get an appointment. Finally getting one I was excited. I am an first time expecting mother, our appointment was for 3pm, we got there at 2:45 and didn't get in to see anyone until 3:40, then we were shuffled between 2 different rooms, the waiting room, the ultrasound room and her office. The first thing her nurse asked my husband and I was if either of us were of Jewish decent and my husband is half. They quickly gave us a cost sheet of the different test that are not covered by insurance and the Jewish one that they recommended was $2600, first sign that all they wanted was to run all the test, even though you may not need it for the money. We were really excited about the ultrasound, we saw the baby move and it had grown so much. We were then shuffled back to the waiting room and then back to Dr. Lenz's office when she told me that the ultrasound tech. thought that I had TOO MUCH FLUID IN MY SAC. Which can lead to DOWN SYNDROME. Mind you I am only 10 weeks into my pregnancy. I was devastated and went home crying the entire day and the following day as well. Something inside told me to contact my original OB that no longer delivers and get a second opinion. And thank goodness I did. She measured my sac and said that i was right on track and it was too soon to be making those types of assumptions. And that I needed to have a specialist do my first trimester aneuploidy screen, not a general OB and be 12 or 13 weeks along. Dr. Lenz, wanted me to do the test at 11 weeks, which is too soon because the baby is still developing and they have research about what the baby should be at during week 12 or 13 but not 11 and if you or have been pregnant you know that every week your baby is growing a lot. Thank goodness I had my original OB to comfort me and talk to because if it wasn't for her I was still be crying my eyes out about what type of decision that I would have to make. Honestly, this is one of the worst doctor's offices out there. The front desk staff is so incredibly rude. I can get over the fact that I had to wait a full hour after my appointment time - things happen, I get it. You always have to wait a minimum of 30 minutes here and parking is awful, so expect to pay extra for that. However, I can't tell you how rude the front desk girl was. It was shocking. Dr. Gilberg-Lenz is perfectly nice, but there are other good doctors in this city. She has a ton of clients and they definitely try and get you in and get you out. It's a bit factory-like. I switched doctors after the last visit and I found another doctor just as nice and with a normal office staff. Plus, it turns out that you don't always have to wait 30 min to an hour after your scheduled appointment. read more

Dr. Gilberg might be an awesome doctor, but when I tried to find out for my self and make an appointment with her it was too difficult. When I called, one lady picked up the phone. To make an appointment with Dr. Gilberg, she transferred me to her assistant. This assistant picked up the phone without a hello, introduction, nothing, not friendly at all. She had an attitude. Especially when I told her that I'm paying out of pocket. She was short and inattentive. She didn't even knew the fees of the doctor she assists. She thought it was about $200 for a consult but doesn't know how much the exam is. For that she transferred me to the finance department. There I was told the whole exam and consult is from $225. Okay, I'm ready to make an appointment. Well, for that I need to talk to the assistant again, who doesn't pick up, and her voicemail says: "Since I'm SO BUSY, I don't check my voicemail during the day, blah blah blah..." wow, I definitely don't want to meet her in person or have her at all involved in my yearly exam, which is unpleasant enough! Bad customer service, especially miss Judy, Dr. Susan's assistant. Terrible system, why do I need to speak to three people just to make an appointment and know their fees in advance? I had a great experience with Dr. Gilberg Lenz. She is very professional and caring. She is candid and clear with medical information-- which I appreciated. I never want sugar coated information about my health. Her nurse and front desk staff were also very helpful and knowledgeable. I literally trust her with my life! read more

I love Dr Gilberg-Lenz. She's always been nice for all my visits. Most of the staff there are very nice as well. However, I had quite an unpleasant time during my last visit. I was suggested to go in for a testing due to possible infection. I was told to go to the restroom before the testing, and I wanted to ask a question before I do since I remember having to provide urine sample if I wanted to perform a pregnancy test. The lady wouldn't let me ask questions and told me to just go to the restroom and ask questions in the room after. I decided to just do it anyways and place my sample in the trashcan since it was still empty. She wasn't extremely rude but she wasn't pleasant to talk to. I feel like it's important to feel comfortable in the doctor's office since we're here 'cause we're concerned about our body, and since we're no doctors of course we'd be asking questions. I understand maybe my questions sounded obvious or she was just having a bad day. However, I wasn't even trying to be difficult, so I felt like her attitude was not necessary. Towards the end of the questionnaire, she told me that she DID need a urine sample, so I told her where I placed it. The whole time I was just thinking, IF ONLY you let me ask ONE question. Changing my review after a few more visits over the years. First of all Dr. Gilberg-Lenz is never available. Every time I've had an appointment I've had to see Dale Perry instead. Dale Perry is excellent and is not the reason for my review change. The problem with this place is the front desk. They are extremely rude and the hold times are 10 minutes plus even in the middle of the day. Every time I speak with someone they are short with me and usually take 10 minutes to answer a simple question. It took me over 2 weeks to get permission for a generic form if birth control. I will definitely be finding a new doctor just because of the office staff. read more

There are so few people you feel you can really talk candidly with--Dr. Gilberg-Lenz is one of them. I'll give the warning that this office is EXTRAORDINARILY busy. As the friend who recommended it told me--"It's like a black hole of time." I was there for 2 hours. I should have brought my laptop. Or charged my Blackberry. Anyway... Every single person I encountered (other patients aside)--from the office staff to the nursing staff, techs, etc... was so nice and friendly and warm. And Dr. Gilberg-Lenz was clearly whip-smart, funny, engaging, and made me feel totally comfortable for my least favorite doctor visit of the year. I felt confident that she was giving me good advice as well as a very thorough exam. Despite the crazy long wait, I recommend her 100%. I'm also completely bummed that she won't be contracted with Cigna starting in the spring, but I may even pay the extra out-of-network costs just to go see her. read more
