I wish I had written this years ago. If you are someone in a larger body, I cannot express strongly enough that you should seek treatment elsewhere. Dr. Rosenbaum's fatphobia and arrogance entrenched issues I was dealing with instead of diagnosing them and led her to misdiagnose me with PCOS. The diagnosis itself did not bother me but her delivery and subsequent actions were extremely damaging to both my psyche and body. More details below for those who may need to vet their doctors with much more scrutiny. (CW: Disordered eating/eating disorder & mention of weight loss and caloric count) From the time I started seeing her in my early 20s, Dr. Rosenbaum gave her strong opinions on my weight and what I should do about it. At 5'8" and 180 pounds at the time, I may have been clinically classified as "overweight" but my life wasn't affected by it, nor were any of my vitals. Her bedside manner rubbed me the wrong way but I thought it was my fault because of my weight. Her practice was close to my office and finding someone else seemed like a hassle for an appointment I had once a year even though I always dreaded seeing her and would push my appointment months to try losing more weight so I wasn't made to feel worse about myself. She was much less condescending the year I came in and had lost 50 pounds in six months, and she enthusiastically congratulated me on my effort which, in hindsight, she should have questioned instead of praising and telling me to keep it up. In the following year or two, I had put the weight back on much to her dismay and my shame, and my periods continued to be irregular as they had been since I first got my period at age 12. At that point, she told me she thought I had PCOS and had me get bloodwork. When I met with her in her office, she told me that I did indeed have PCOS as she suspected. I asked her if she had gotten my bloodwork back and she said, "I don't need to see it, I know it's PCOS." She told me I would need to lose weight and stop eating carbs and recommended seeing the nutritionist, Dr. Rahnama, in their office. She said, "Dr. Rahnama *loves* her PCOS patients. They do really well on her program because they're not... you know..." and trailed off. I can only imagine what it was I was supposed to "know." That PCOS patients do well on a nutrition program because it's not their "fault" they are fat, they aren't lazy and unmotivated like 'regular' fat people? I don't know what else she could have possibly been thinking besides some version of that. She jokingly made comments that I may need to take medication in order to conceive but that her patients without PCOS were jealous of that. I went to see Dr. Rahnama who wanted me to go on an extremely restrictive, 1,200-calorie diet of deli meats, vegetables, and protein shakes. That was the last time I engaged with Dr. Rosenbaum or her office but I have been healing the wounds of that since, putting off seeing doctors or trusting them. That was five years ago and a new doctor recently questioned Dr. Rosenbaum's PCOS diagnosis and did a new set of bloodwork and pelvic ultrasound. My testosterone levels were completely normal and I did not have cysts on my ovaries. Dr. Rosenbaum diagnosed me based on my weight and my irregular periods. If I had shown up at her office looking emaciated, perhaps I would have gotten the proper diagnosis: an eating disorder. Upon working to resolve those issues around food restriction and obsession with my weight, I have gotten my period regularly for the past year and a half and my weight has stabilized at a place I'm sure would horrify her, but I am so much healthier and happier than when I was in her care. Dr. Rosenbaum did a lot of harm and caused me to feel so much shame that I internalized deeply. I would imagine she is a decent doctor for people she believes to be in acceptable body sizes. If that is not you, please find someone who will treat you with the care and respect you deserve, who is informed in a Health At Every Size approach. I am sorry for not writing this sooner and perhaps stopping others from having the same experience that I did. read more

I cannot say enough about my experiences w/ Dr. Rosenbaum. She was on call when I was delivering my first child back in 2008 at Cedars and while my OB/GYN was on vacation. She showed up, I was having a difficult time dilating during my delivery and she made me feel incredibly safe and comfortable. So sweet and so kind. She made such a huge impact on my experience at Cedars so I knew when I got pregnant the second time around in 2012, she HAD to be my OB/GYN again. Every office visit, and every advice she ever gave me was so comforting and I trust her. I needed her when she came into my life. Let me just make say this as a side note: Sometimes when doctors treat celebs or become celebs themselves, they have a sense of entitlement. Some, not all. I myself have personally experienced this situation with an OB/GYN who use to be on the television show "The Doctors". I won't mention her name here but I will post separate review on my experience w/ her when I miscarried my first child. I mention this because it is obvious that Dr. Rosenbaum is good at what she does. She delivers babies everyday for both regular every day people like you and I, and she also delivers babies for celebs. Yet she remains the same. She treats everyone of her patients the same. With love, respect, and kindness. I had a high-risk pregnancy the second time around and she was there for me every step of the way. What I can say about her office and staff is that they are all very professional. I never had any issues over the years with billing, cancelled appts, etc. I've never been kept waiting for long periods of time for any of my appointments. Parking is easy. Absolutely no complaints!! I'll preface this whole review with the fact that I was late as hell to my first appointment, and while that's characteristic for me with work, various events, and one day my own funeral, it's something I have always avoided with dr appts. For some reason, I hate being late to the doctor! Alas, I was late, and it honestly would have been well within Dr.R's staff's rights to kindly suggest I bring myself back another day. Instead, they worked me in in relatively no time. I went and peed in the cup and then I was led to an exam room. After scale and BP, of course I started to remove my clothes like a conditioned concubine. Right? The nurse instructed me to leave them on. Intrigued, I wondered what exactly was going on. I was having a pap, right? Well, I got the shock of my life when Dr. Rosenbaum came in. She was super friendly and warm, and told me that she knew I had questions (as I'd told the nurse), but that if she didn't get to all of them, we would schedule some additional time together for later in the week or the next week. Then, she sat down, and we proceeded to have the most comprehensive conversation I have ever had with a gyno--fully-clothed woman to fully-clothed woman. I was shocked at how much more cohesive my thoughts were while making eye contact with my doctor, rather than getting half-answers while she diddled around my cervix. We talked about every single concern I had in detail (I had a literal list in hand), and she answered every single question confidently and knowledgeably, in a relatable way. She even shared her own experiences as examples, rather than doing that female gyno-thing where they behave like robots from the year 3040, constructed without vaginas or any reproductive concerns. Then came time for the pap. Hold on to your hat: I'd noted that latex tends to irritate me per their intake questionnaire. So, guess what? Dr. R noticed and used polyurethane gloves. I am serious. Over the years, I've resigned myself to the mild tightness and irritation I experience for a day or so after a pap. No longer necessary! To top it off, I swear that it was the quickest, most pleasant pap experience I have ever, ever had. I didn't feel a thing! It was so amazing that I said something and she let me in on a little secret. I won't give away her tricks, but suffice it to say she has a fabulous, pain- and pressure-free technique for the cervical swab. I really couldn't get over it and told anyone who would listen for the rest of the day. After the pap, I had a blood draw in a very nice lab also on the penthouse floor of the building, where there was no wait. And then, ta-da, I was out! It was a long appointment, but that was because I had so much personal attention. I left feeling genuinely comforted about every concern I had. It doesn't end there, folks. The days of wine and roses continued when Dr. R called personally the next morning--yes, personally--to tell me that my bloodwork came back great. She then tried to call that Friday about my pap and HPV test--which was thankfully normal following an abnormal pap earlier in the year--but somehow I missed her calls. So, when I got a VM from her on Monday, I got nervous and called. The receptionist got her on the phone within minutes. I could tell that she was busy by the background, but characteristically, she didn't make me feel at all rushed. She told me personally that my pap was normal, and that she had tried to call me Friday so that I could have a great, stress-free weekend. Are you kidding me?! When is the last time a doctor cared enough to make it a priority to get you *good* news? I really could have been knocked over by a feather. I had a follow-up appointment this past Tuesday, and I am now a JimJones-esque devotee. I had an ultrasound, which Dr. R saw me in her office to go over in detail and to give me a script for the Nuvaring. By the way, she personally showed me how to use the ring, not the nurse. Everyone there is as sweet as pie, from the reception to the nurses, to the lab and ultrasound technicians. As for Dr. R, I have never, ever felt as though a doctor cared as much, without judgment. She's sharp with terrific bedside manner. She's also a new mom, and the full-spectrum perspective is comforting as a young woman who hasn't yet had children but hopes to in the future. I can imagine she is just as much of an excellent obstetrician as she is a gynecologist. I've been content with my choices in gyno before, but I've never been absolutely overjoyed. I cannot see going to any other ob/gyn at this point; I feel as though I've found the Rolls Royce of them all. Note: do not park in the building's valet-only garage, unless you don't mind the $20 price tag. They don't validate, but there's a public garage at the corner of Rodeo and Brighton. I switched to PPO so I could go back to her when she opened her private practice. I was impressed that she seemed to recall me from her group practice when she came into the exam room. I had to wait about a half hour. The nurse was brusque. However, my annual exam turned into nearly 3 hours in the office. I was never greeted by the reception desk; I had to walk over and ask for my new patient paperwork. The women up front were taking personal calls and ordering lunch and talking LOUDLY with one another, completely oblivious to patients waiting. For a Rodeo Drive office, they were some rude and unprofessional receptionists. I've had better treatment as a college student at a Planned Parenthood. During the exam, I explained that I had some normal for me issues, but Dr. Rosenbaum wanted bloodwork and an ultrasound, and gave me a "maybe" diagnosis of PCOS, and mentioned I could start Chlomid, even though I had explained to her that I was only *thinking* of starting a family. The tests totaled over $200 even with my insurance. Dr. Rosenbaum seems kind and thorough; but in the end, I felt as though she really wasn't listening to me, and her approach to medicine seems to be one of "leave no stone unturned". For people who like that sort of doctor, then she's for you. I ended up getting pregnant the old-fashioned way 5 months later. I did find a new doctor, Sharon Pushkin, whom I completely trust and who listens and gives options without pressure. read more

We were referred to Dr. Rosenbaum who is pretty great. The problem is everyone she surrounds herself with. Considering the area we were expecting much better treatment than what was given. An hour wait in the waiting room was common along with reminding the nurses/staff exactly what you were there for. did I mention we were pregnant with our first baby. The entire experience was horrendous. It is a complete failure as an office goes and unfortunately you're judged by the people you keep, which is why we did not last more than 3 visits. To this day we are still getting calls and Emails from her billing department for a Co-pay from our first visit that they can't seem to find. They are now asking me to find the proof. It's a shame that she losses so much business at no fault of her own... Clean up your office Stacey! You look like a hoarder and you're running a terrible business... read more

Dr. Rosenbaum is terrific, however her office deserves 2 stars. Whenever I call, the automated message tells me that they are closed, even at 3 in the afternoon. Last time I was there I made I payment for a previous appointment and told them I'd call them later that week with my new insurance information. I called, literally about 5 times and left messages, and never got a call back. When I finally got through they helped me out. Two weeks later, they called me to tell me that I never paid them The lines are ridiculous and appointment availability is abyssmal, granted, this may be because of how amazing and accomodating Dr. Rosenbaum is... On to the positives: Dr. Rosenbaum is friendly, helpful, attentive, and customer service oriented. She always makes sure to follow up and give great referrals. I absolutely adore her effervescent personality and her helpful demeanor. In addition to being caring and kind, she also really knows what she is talking about, I came to her when another gynecologist was pushing me to do a surgery that Dr. Rosenbaum said may actually worsen my condition. Dr. R was THOROUGH, KIND, answered ALL questions, prescribed the RIGHT meds -- and here's the kicker - her staff is friendly and she calls you for a follow-up -- UNPROMPTED. This is entirely unheard of in the world of GYNOs at Cedars Sinai. I am BLESSED to have found her. My other doctor didn't take my condition seriously, prescribed the wrong meds and I contracted a full-blown candida globrata infection, not albicans. Dr. R zeroed in on this within minutes. Dr. Stacey P. Rosenbaum is the best OBGYN I have had the pleasure of meeting. I have been a patient of hers for close to five years now and each visit is as good as it gets. The office staff is friendly, prepared, and organized -- making sure I never wait to get placed in a room for the Doctor. Dr. Rosenbaum is always on time, has a warm disposition, makes me feel comfortable, and has a sense of professionalism that I have not experienced with other doctors. She has incredible bedside manner! I have the BRCA2+ genetic mutation and have a more complicated medical history than many other 29 year old women and she has always made sure to take my case extremely seriously, completing thorough check-ups, following up with me every six months, and providing me with current and new information on preventative care. What a relief! I found Dr. Rosenbaum here on yelp, in a desperate attempt to find a gyno that wouldn't roll her eyes when I told her I had PMDD and was looking for a birth control pill that would actually help or judge me and lecture me on my "lifestyle" choices. Dr. Rosenbaum was so great. Quick wait, totally thorough, she checked for EVERYTHING without me even having to beg her to do it, unlike some doctors I've been to that seem to want to do as little as possible and then get you out of there. She was totally informative, super sweet, and very understanding. She would make comments like, "yeah, you seem like the kind of person who would ___" and she was always right, which left me feeling like she has a really great read on her patients and is understanding of what their particular needs are. Plus she was funny. She told me that the only reason birth control packs start on Sundays is because people want to have sex on the weekends. I hadn't been to the gyno in over two years due to a series of really negative experiences that left me discouraged and drained. I left here feeling totally taken care of and supported. read more

I was continually harassed over the course of 9 months with bills that I had apparently never paid. But they were insane lab costs that were never explained to me at the time of my visit. I must've had a bill every 3 weeks for $20 here, $15 there... it was insane and I never received an explanation from either their accounts payable OR receivable. Otherwise Dr. Rosenbaum is truly a wonderful doctor. She takes the time to really listen and ask you questions. Her exams are efficient but still personable. I highly recommend her! Dr Rosenbaum is wonderful and I'm very pleased with how my first appointment with her went. I didn't so much enjoy the overcrowded waiting room where I found the very last seat available. I didn't enjoy the long wait to be seen. I arrived 30 minutes early to complete new patient paperwork (I'm an over compensator) and had my paperwork complete in under ten minutes. I then proceeded to wait. I was called up over 30 minutes past my appointment. I felt the staff seemed a little rushed as we seemed to sprint down the hall to the exam room. I found Dr. Rosenbaum competent, compassionate and considerate. She did not rush our appointment and made sure that she answered all of my questions. Overall- I'll return. Hands down the best doctor I have visited to date. Changed dctors after moving to Los Angeles and couldn't have made a better choice. The office is right in the middle of Beverly Hills. Very clean! The only downside is that it is a bit hard to find on the first visit, as the building doesn't label each office very well from the outside... I refused to pay $1,000 to have surgery in her out patient center because it would be free with my insurance at cedars. I went to see Dr. Rosenbaum a few years ago after reading the glowing reviews and was disappointed and honestly traumatized by the experience. She is incredibly fatphobic. I went in for an annual exam, waited about 45 mins in a very cold room to see her, and she walked in and immediately started lecturing me about my 250lb/5'10'' body and how I probably had PCOS or metabolic syndrome (she then took a bunch of tests I didn't want to take which disproved both diagnoses). She talked to me about the "dangers of being fat" while I lay there naked on her table with her hand inside my vagina. And did not ask me whether or not my weight was a concern to me at this moment or whether I wanted her help in "figuring things out." Then she handed me a brochure for a nutritionist "miracle worker" who works out of her office -- the brochure was basically for a diet that puts you on an 800 calorie a day diet for six weeks and then weans you back up out of starvation. Listen, as a fat woman living in Los Angeles, it is not surprising to have a disconcerting doctors appointment (like going in with the flu and leaving with a pamphlet on dieting) but this was particularly traumatic because I was not expecting it and did not consent to a conversation about my weight. It's particularly traumatic to see fatphobic doctors who ask no questions about personal history and just assume any fat person walking into their office has some undiagnosed condition they're going to find and miraculously make them thin, or that a fat woman would like to talk about her weight during a pap smear (I didn't). I'm sure she's a lovely doctor if you're a thin person, but if you are fat, stay as far away from her as possible. read more

Dr. Rosenbaum has been my doctor for 4 years. During that time she has given me wonderful care. She never rushes your appointment & always leaves ample time for your questions. In May she delivered my first child & the entire pregnancy was put at ease thanks to her care. We live in Santa Monica so driving to BH can be a hassle, but it was always worth the hike because of Dr. R! If you are looking for a new Doc to deliver your baby, look no further! read more

Best OB/GYN I've been to yet, by far. Dr. Rosenbaum is a rare anomaly in the world of L.A. medicine. She is genuinely interested in her patients as human beings, and actually *engages* in a pleasant and friendly way. She's extremely forthcoming with information, and welcomes questions. Her examination is exceedingly thorough--you definitely won't feel like you've been rushed through the appointment so she can get to her next patient. Unlike so many of the aloof, cold, or droid-like doctors I've been to in Los Angeles, she doesn't seem to have been beaten down by medicine. Dr. Rosenbaum is the greatest OBGYN I've ever been to! she is very nice and always wants to make sure you're comfortable at each and every visit no matter what the reason of your appt. She is not like some "judge-y" doctors you may come across. It was very easy to get an appointment as a new patient and I have been coming to her ever since I moved to LA 3 years ago (prior, I went to the OBGYNS at my University). I have recommended her to all my girlfriends as a great OBGYN and she can always get you in when you have a female emergency (such as a UTI - for her non pregnant patients). It's tricky to find the office. It's actually on Rodeo Drive across from the Hugo Boss store.... if I am heading North on rodeo (there is a parking garage nearby on Brighton just Southwest of the office that is free for the first hour or two - I've never needed to pay, so I'm not quite sure) I turn left into the courtyard right after the G-Star store on the left and head to the back elevators. I haven't had any billing/payment issues but I wouldn't give Dr. Rosenbaum ANY less stars just because she shares an office with admin people who might not be the best. read more

Dr. Rosenbaum is nothing less than fantastic, as doctor she is an A+. She is informative, kind, compassionate, friendly, down-to-earth, and very in touch with "reality". She was awesome from the very first appointment through my entire pregnancy - she never makes you feel rushed or makes you feel like your question is stupid! And she makes all results and follow-up calls to you personally! So 9 months later when she delivered my son, my sister who met her only for those few hours at the hospital told me "wow you have a really great doctor". That's how good she is. She really "gets it". A good doctor is so hard to find, she is a gem. And to top it all off, she's beautiful! Yes, sometimes you have to wait past your appointment time. It's a doctors office, IT HAPPENS people. Things come up, someone's ultrasound found a problem, some other pregnant chick showed up late or is having a problem with something, etc. Just plan that it will take extra time, like everything else in L.A. And she shares the office staff with all the other doctors there so I guess with all the commotion things can slip through the cracks, though in my experience it was never anything outrageous. I just delivered my first baby, a girl, at the age of 35. Going into this pregnancy, I had had 3 prior miscarriages, so the combination of my previous history and age automatically categorized me as a high-risk patient. Psychologically, I was in need of extra special attention - someone who would be understanding of my situation, despite having "seen it all" before, or viewing me in terms of statistics. I found the perfect combination of a professional, competent, experienced, understanding doctor with a supreme bedside manner in Dr. Stacey Rosenbaum. She was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. She continuously put my mind at ease throughout all stages of my pregnancy, provided me with sound medical advice and direction, and never once grew frustrated with my likely hyper-paranoid questions and concerns. She was patient to the point that she made you feel as if she had no where else she needed to be the entire day but with you, answering anything you needed to know. Whenever I had tests run, she would personally call me with the results vs. a nurse or administrator in her office. She has a wonderfully down-to-earth approach that allows her to break down complex medical speak into layman's terms. Unlike most doctors, she is personable, easy to relate to, and not at all pushy in terms of any sort of personal agenda. It was very important for me that when my delivery day came, that my OB be the person to actually deliver my baby vs. someone else in the practice whom I didn't know. This was something Dr. Rosenbaum assured me of from the beginning, and sure enough, when the time came, she delivered! (no pun intended) She was a fantastic labor coach - the perfect combination of positive energy, patience, calm and steady command of the situation, and would push me past where I thought I could go at just the right moments. All in all, she made my entire pregnancy, labor and delivery a pleasurable experience. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone looking for an OB-GYN. I originally started seeing Dr. Rosenbaum as my gynecologist six years ago. I had been diagnosed with a progressive strain of HPV and she saw me through it. Last year, when I became pregnant with my first baby I didn't even hesitate with choosing her to be my OB. She was actually on maternity leave most of my first trimester, but when she returned she was up to date on everything that had happened while she had been out. My pregnancy went super and I was excited to have her deliver my daughter. Then she informed me that she was leaving the group practice she was a part of to go into private practice. Her new start date was the day after my due date! I was devastated. She referred me to another OB at the new practice and assured me that she would deliver the baby if I made it to my due date. I saw the other doctor for a few weeks and then Dr. Rosenbaum came back a little early and saw me through the last week of my pregnancy. I was induced the day before my due date with no pressure from her. So many OB's pressure their patients to get induced, but my decision was entirely my own. She gave me the risks and I chose to go ahead. My induction took a long time, and in the middle of it she even gave me the choice to go home. I stuck it out and she delivered my baby girl with no problems! I truly felt like I had a girlfriend in the room with me. She was there the entire time I pushed and was a great coach. I can't imagine having more children without Dr. Rosenbaum there to catch them! In addition to wonderful labor and delivery support, she was there for me in the postpartum period as well. I was able to call her with questions and concerns and she would always call me back (sometimes on her way home from work that day!). Cannot say enough good things about Dr. Rosenbaum. She is the kindest and most compassionate doctor you will ever have. As a young woman, I was going through several treatments that were painful (physically and emotionally) and she and her staff were beyond comforting and understanding. They were also SO sweet to my husband who is always freaked out even being in the presence of anything in an OB office. She is as much a girls girl as she is a guys girl. Totally can cater to whoever is in the office and adjust to make all feel comfortable and explaining things without making the men run out with ears covered :) The best part might be her voicemails. I literally save them and let friends listen because she is so compassionate when things come back not so great, and when things come back good- she is more ecstatic then I am. For checkups when my husband is not with me, she always asks about things we were discussing in prior visits-from work to family things- she takes care in knowing her patients. And she does so before even opening her folder which lets you know she truly does invest time and interest in her patients and remembering them. She is always so professional yet she feels like a best friend you can confide in. Without a doubt Dr. Rosenbaum will be the one with us the entire way and with all of our little ones . I've been seeing Dr. Rosenbaum for five years and I adore her. She delivered my first Son and I have the most discrete, petite c-section scar. I am pregnant with my second child now and she is totally supportive of my decision to have a VBAC, which I hear is quite rare. Most Doctors just want to schedule the C-section. She's a Mom herself and she's young and cute, so you feel like your talking to a girlfriend rather than some impersonal white coat. She's knowledgeable and thorough and has impeccable bedside manner. Each year, this is always the most dreaded appointment for me. Before finding Dr. Rosenbaum through a friend, these appointments were uncomfortable (a little bit painful) for me. I experienced no pain or discomfort and she made everything easy and shes the fastest with the exam portion. She still took her time, was very thorough and got to know me before the exam - I never felt rushed even though there were a lot of people in her office for appointments.
