Such a surprise that this beautiful golf course and distillery is so close to my residence…read more My daughter and I came for the red white and blue celebration on July 4th. We bought our tickets to the event when we arrived. Tickets for tours are also available. After walking through the store and the rows of wooden barrels from floor to ceiling, you find yourself in a small area with a big bar. The event price includes one cocktail of your choice. I chose the Oh Peachy and later purchased a pecan old-fashioned; both were delicious! Unfortunately, the food truck broke down, so there was no food available!! Big Mike was performing in the big lodge room; the acoustics are pretty bad, especially once people start talking, but at least it was cool in there, We spent a lot of time in the store and ended up purchasing a fused bottle of whiskey to split. It was fun, deciding which cork stopper to get to add to my daughter's collection. The store has different sizes and shapes of a wooden court display boards; in the shape of Texas. The golf course surrounding the distillery, looks beautiful and well taken care of.

It was fantastic! Fun history of the family distillery and I definitely know what I don't like! I mean if chewing on a barrel board soaked in alcohol was a thing, that's what some of them tasted like! Don't be mad! Just my opinion! I'm normally sipping on Sangria! Now the buttered pecan, it was like sipping spicy syrup! And that was delightful! Pass the pancakes! The toasted coconut ! Warmed my heart in the best way possible! And then we got to the moonshine! Thankfully it was just tiny tasting cups! My favorites were the Pecan Sippin Sauce & the Peach Pie. I mean the banana pudding moonshine wasn't terrible either! After all those little TINY sips we had dinner at the cantina on the property. I had birria tacos and TA had birria fries. So GOOD! After we had filled our bellies with FOOD, we had to check out the converted train caboose to speakeasy lounge, just a little walk behind the main building where you could order fun cocktails and just sit and chat. We met some fun people and had the best conversation with delicious cocktails! We tried the chocolate martini and the toffeetini! Every staff member was welcoming, helpful and seemed genuinely happy to work there! The property is great! LOVED the swings outside and the seating inside was fun and inviting! But from the very first phone call, Sophie at Blackland Distillery showed nothing but grace and patience. She allowed us to keep pushing back our reservation without a hint of frustration, and that alone deserves a standing ovation. When we finally arrived, what could've been a ruined evening turned into one of the most memorable nights we've had. Every single person we encountered at Blackland was incredibly kind and welcoming. Marshall greeted us with warmth, and Jeremy? He's not just a bartender--he's a cocktail artist. The drinks he crafted for us were next-level, easily some of the best we've ever had. He truly understands spirits and how to elevate them. We were genuinely torn when it was time to leave for our dinner reservation at Wicked Butcher--honestly, we could've stayed sipping Jeremy's creations all night. Before we left, we got to meet Sophie in person (she stuck around!), and by that time, we had sampled every single spirit Blackland offers. Each one was exceptional--smooth, bold, and full of character. Take home message: Top-tier spirits, an amazing vibe, and a team that genuinely cares--Blackland Distillery turned a stressful day into an unforgettable celebration. We'll be back... and next time, we're staying all night.

We arrived shorty before our scheduled time, and the distillery was just opening. Don (co-owner) welcomed me and told us to come on in. The space is very welcoming, and we immediately felt comfortable. We were fortunate enough that Don took care of us. He told us about the beginnings of the distillery, how he and his partner got started, and how they have continued to evolve. Their attention to details are unmatched. Their gin, bourbon, and vodka were all top-notch, and we were very impressed by the personalized tour. Don's passion and knowledge made the experience truly memorable. We learned so much about artisan products, and the efforts that go into making them. I strongly recommend this experience to others. Their spirits taste really good. We could've stayed longer, as comfortable as Don made us feel. We were able to sample most of their products and we had two amazing cocktails each. We purchased the Artisanal Gin, the Barrel Finished Gin, and the Blended Bourbon. My wife surprised me with a bottle of the Blended Bourbon, and Don presented it in a very nice gift bag. He actually dedicated the bottles to us and signed them. We're looking forward to bringing our friends for another visit soon. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and recommend a tour to any spirits enthusiast!
