The place is amazing. The sashimi appetizer included real crab meat, and I received a complimentary salad that was amazing. I like how they slice the white radish into thin stripes rather than square section strips, makes it more edible for those who are into the white radish. Service was great too and the price very reasonable for the quality! read more

Sushi UNI - Complientary salad and "Magic Mushrooms" shown. - Sushi Bars Near Me - Lenexa, Kansas

Fresh, nice little place. Had lunch while in town on business. Service was pleasant, food quality seemed very good and price very reasonable. I base this review on years of stoping in little places like this while traveling for business and as always my own taste buds ! Enjoy! read more

Easily the best sushi in the city. VERY good. The hot and sour soup and spicy crab salads are also awesome! Highly recommend this place!

Seriously one of the best lunch specials in the city!!! Nice and cozy, friendly staff, and the Royals always seem to be on! The fish is fresh and the hot and sour soup is crazy good! Try the yellow tail and green onion roll! read more

So yummy! The Sushi chefs are incredible! Pink lady, tornado, daikon. And Spicy crab salad! Everything is fresh and look out for the wasabi! You know some places don't know how to serve the right wasabi. Well not here. Oh, yea, don't forget the homemade ice cream. The taro is just like ice cream should taste. read more

Wow. AND I thought that I had tasted all the good sushi in KC. But these guys can make sushi!

My husband and I first came to Sushi UNI after a powerful craving for sushi after Ren Fest. A quick Yelp search led us here, and it has become our absolute favorite sushi place. So after our wedding, it was an obvious choice to head down to Lenexa for some quality sushi at great prices. The wait staff is amazing, quick to answer any questions that customers have. It's an intimate place, with close attention being given for a great customer experience. If you get a soft drink, you do need to pay per can, but for the quality of the food I'm more than happy to do it. read more

Excellent! New favourite sushi restaurant in Johnson County! Been here several times and we've yet to be disappointed. Love the hot and sour soup, vegetable tempura, spicy crab salad and any of the sushi rolls. Well done! read more

Let's cut to to the chase: Decor: small and minimalist. I like that it's not pretentious. Sushi presentation: none whatsoever Sushi technique: It was ok, left a lot to be desired. Food quality: Top notch. The fish was fresh and thick. Sushi rolls are very tasty. Very good sized portion. Lunch special: you can't beat the price ($11.95 for three rolls, plus soup or salad, and a crab rangoon). It's the best bang for your bucks, considering how much food you get and how good the food quality is. read more

Wow! This reached its way to the top of "my go to sushi place". Very small if you're dining in. However, excellent service, excellent selection, excellent presentation, and absolutely amazing food. My family and I enjoyed crab rangoon, pot stickers, and egg rolls for an appetizer. These were cooked to delight. With a crunchy outer crust and a bite of full flavor in the middle. Must I add- the pot sticker side sauce was to die for! Then for our entrees, we all had sushi rolls (duh), they were prepared in a timely manor and the BEST rolls I have had to date. Dessert was offered, but we had already maxed out the tummy, nice to know it's available though. To all of the sushi lovers out there, please do yourself a favor and visit this place. You will not be disappointed! read more

This is my go to place for sushi!!! Pretty much everything on the menu is delicious. It's somewhat small as far restaurants go but no need to worry because you can order to go!!! Say what??? Yeah so if you want primo sushi and not wanting to sit there then to go is your choice. And they also deliver too but it's only a 2mile radius of the restaurant. They seem to have a roll of the month every month which isn't on the menu and you grove a try if there and hadn't tried it yet. Okay to the details...largely all their rolls are delicious as is the spicy crap salad, hand rolls, soups, and other non-sushi items are very sure thing that it is a winner! read more

Sushi UNI - Fresh and delicious! - Sushi Bars Near Me - Lenexa, Kansas

Wow. Ordered the 12 piece sashimi dinner. $ 24.95. Add anothee soup or salad and it is enought for two. Comes with Choice of soup, 2 crab Rangoon. I sat at the bar and they threw in a spicy crab salad (first time I ever had it. Amazing. Light spicy. Good for all palettes.) The slabs of fish were some of the largest I have ever gotten. Oh yeah, comes with daikon maki roll also. I don't know of a better sushi restaurant I have ever been too this far inland. Go there. read more

Really good Sushi! Freshness like you would expect on the coast but delivered to Kansas with style.

Amazing. Their miso soup is the best I've had, and I'm a bit of a snob. Their sushi bar is full of people working quickly with fresh ingredients right in front of you as you eat. Great atmosphere. read more

A small place- not many tables, and if you get one by the door in the winter- bring an extra sweater! However, they MORE than make up for it with their delicious & fresh sushi! Great selection and AWESOME prices! read more

Best sushi I have had in KC. The quality and selection are great. You will not find a better lunch special. I go for lunch almost every week. read more

This is a wonderful place with affordable prices. The food is awesome. This place deserves 5 stars. Will come back here next time.

Let me start off by saying I really love sushi. Secondly, I know how hard it can be to find good sushi. I also know how hard it can be to find AFFORDABLE sushi and how hard it is to find a combination of the two. It's basically a unicorn. Look no further. We've discovered the UNICORN. It exists in Lenexa KS. This place is amazing. It's a little small but they're actually expanding the place to make it bigger and it should be done early mid December. The place was still a very warm and relaxing atmosphere. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I went with a couple friends and they even brought out a platter of food for us on the house. It might have been because one of us got our food before the others but to be fair he ordered 1 roll while we ordered 3 but that's just my assumption. And the wait for our food was not very long in the first place. The sake was very good too. 10/10 would stuff my face with sushi and fried rice again. OH YEAH. The fried rice was really good too. :) read more

Sushi UNI - Our warm ups before we got our sushi. - Sushi Bars Near Me - Lenexa, Kansas

Great little sushi place that's expanding soon. You can't beat the $7.25 sushi lunch special; I get it at least once a month. I always order to go as the seating is limited, but I may try sit-down service once they reopen with more space later this month. I will say that the roll preparation is sometimes inconsistent--I've gotten the 87th Street roll several times as it's a favorite of mine, but the spicy mayo has at times overwhelmed the other flavors. Still, everything is otherwise delicious. Definitely recommend. read more

I can't even begin to express the way I feel. We were here every weekend for about 3 months. We've never had better tasting fresh sushi until here. The customer is amazing and they are always making sure your needs are met. A small spot doesn't compare to the opening of food love in this place. I miss when I'm working and can't go but always make it up when I go back and buy extra for lunch the next day. I know all the staff and can't thank them enough. I do want them to open up another joint though bc I live south of them so I travel bc no one is better. read more

This place treats people differently based upon race. I have been here several times and I have noticed that people of color get terrible service. I called in and they lied to me and said they don't take reservations then when I got there i over heard the manager on the phone saying that they take reservations.. after getting seated I noticed that it took them considerably longer to get my drink order as well. Now every time I have came here I have made sure to tip accordingly and I have spent quite a bit of money with these people. I don't know why they choose to treat others differently here but I had to make a review about this because it is definitely noticeable! read more

Our first time here and everything was great! I had teriyaki shrimp and my wife had eel. The restaurant threw in a spicy salad on the house for our table and that was wonderful! The staff was extremely attentive. We will definitely be back. read more

Went here on a recommendation from a friend, and I was not disappointed. I got the sushi dinner, which is seven pieces and a salmon roll. The fish was delectable, the rice was perfectly prepared, and the pieces were LARGE. None of those one-bite nigiri pieces - these were quite ample. The dinner came with a choice of soups (I got the hot and sour) and two crab rangoon. They also brought out a complimentary plate of seaweed and crab salad which was very tasty. It's a $15 meal (suppertime, not lunch), and I left feeling very satisfied. Is it the fanciest sushi place in the world? No. It's a small restaurant, and the presentation isn't super-high-end, but the food is really tasty, and the prices are very reasonable for large servings. I was very satisfied, and I'd recommend the place to all my friends. If you're looking for an intimate atmosphere where the chef and the waitstaff are attentive and happy to see you, and you get really tasty sushi for a very reasonable price, then this is your place. read more

I am so excited to find this place. The sushi is excellent. The customer service couldn't be better. The prices are very reasonable. The Las Vegas role is my favorite! read more

One of my favorite places in town to get sushi! Super friendly staff!

We just discovered Sushi Uni, although we live quite close. We have had great experiences no matter what we do; we have sat in the restaurant, ordered to-go, and have also had it delivered. We have a picky eater in our family and the kiddo doesn't like sushi - Sushi Uni also carries basic standard Chinese food too, like chicken fried rice, crab Rangoon, etc. It makes everyone in the family very happy. Everything tastes great here - prices are very reasonable, and delivery, if you live in the radius, is quicker than they estimate. We are so happy Sushi Uni is in our neighborhood! read more

I LOVE sushi! This place definitely reaches my expectations. They have great specials too. My wife is not a fan of sushi but likes Chinese food in general and really likes their General Tso. The dining area is a little small but the food is worth it. You gotta try this place! read more

Best hot & sour soup in KC! Try the HULK roll! It is not on the menu, one of the best rolls you will ever try! it is a little spicy.

This is without a doubt one of my two favorite sushi places in the Kansas City area. Its a small place so sometimes getting a table is a bit tricky. I've been eating there since right after it opened. Ive watched it go from an almost always empty place to nearly always full. Its a great little sushi place with always fresh tasting sushi and a very friendly staff. Without a doubt it is the definition of what makes local neighborhood eateries great. read more

I have ate Sushi Uni over a dozen times and have NEVER been disappointed. The service is always friendly, and the food is great. The prices are reasonable, and their specials are a steal. The taro Ice cream is AMAZING. They also deliver, thats right, a GOOD sushi restaurant that delivers! The dining area is small, but the food is well worth it. read more

Happy to find this place. Very good rolls at a fair price. Had to try the crab salad everyone else was mentioning, and it did not disappoint. Don't let the word spicy scare you off of this one...I didn't think it was spicy at all. We tried the Sushi Uni, Spicy Tuna, and the Mango rolls. All were great and would order again. The place is tiny, with only a few tables/booths, so this place is probably best for take out unless you're lucky enough to get a table. Service was friendly and attentive. Definitely our new "go to" for sushi out in the Lenexa/Shawnee area. read more

Very yummy! Great deals. I only gave 4 stars because it was busy at the time and the waitress took forever to help us and made me late back to work. read more

This is a great place to get great sushi. Very good lunch prices. The Sunshine roll is delicious. Great staff and great chef!

The eel and spicy tuna are great as is the miso soup. The lunch prices are reasonable

Absolutely love this small, comfortable restaurant. Not a fan of sushi in general, but their chicken teriyaki is delicious! And everyone I visit the restaurant with loves the sushi as well. Their lunch special is great, so if you are able to go in for lunch, I would definitely recommend it. Service is great, food is great, atmosphere is great. This place is as good as it gets! read more

Best sushi lunch deal, hands down! Three large rolls, choice of soup and two crab Rangoon for $11.95. Excellent service despite how busy they always are. Highly recommended this place! Our new favorite! read more

1st timer, and would return! Hard for me to give 5 stars. Go early, we went at 5pm and the restaurant was 1/2 full already. We got complimentary spicy crab salad, and it was delish! Enjoyed the hot and sour soup. Sushi is priced well, and tastes great! read more

Stunning. It's hard to find truly fresh fish in Kansas. Sushi Uni was the first place I have found outside the coasts to deliver fresh fish. The toro tuna was bliss. Staples such as hot and sour soup are thick and delicious. Outstanding all around. read more
