Great service, great sushi. decently priced. Would eat here again! tried the sweet potato roll, crunch munch and another one that was recommended by the lady taking my order!

Mediocre, overpriced, fell from what they once were. Something happened but this place has totally lost us. Our dinners have gotten worse over time, but tonight was the last straw. Dry, overcooked katsu chicken, barely edible. The sushi rolls barely had any fish on them at all, clearly portioned out to the point of being a joke, with tasteless sushi rice. I was offended to have spent a stupid amount of money for what was frankly overpriced grocery store level sushi. The pictures show the amount of fish on the roll provided, skinny, itty bitty pieces that somehow were actually served to a customer. You've lost our business.

A piece of roll they assured me did not have crab stcik in it, with the offending crab stick clearly shown.

THIS RESTAURANT IS NOT SAFE FOR GLUTEN ALLERGY, INTOLERANCE, OR CELIAC I just got off the phone with this place, I specifically ordered the gluten free shrimp California roll and it came with crab stick in it. The owners argued with me through the poor front desk girl and told me that because I had eaten part of it, that they could not offer me any kind of refund even if I came in to show them that they had served me an item with gluten in it. I mentioned that I had celiac disease and they didn't budge. Overall shocking experience.

Everything was delish! Boyfriend had the ninja roll I went woo the AAC. We shared a veggie gyoza and had miso soups. I am not a fan of the raw fish so so can't speak on that but the vegetarian options were super good! Will for sure be back

Sad looking 16 piece Sashimi deluxe platter. Comes with 9 pieces of sashimi (3 tuna, 3 salmon, 3 yellowtail)

We had high hopes coming here based on reviews, but were ultimately disappointed with the quality of the food and the service. We went there on a Sat night around 8ish and it was moderately empty. We ordered the tempera udon, shrimp tempera roll and the sashimi plate. I was actually pretty annoyed when the young waiter put our udon spoon directly onto the table without a napkin underneath. The udon was decent- it wasn't bad. It was kinda sad that it only comes with 1 shrimp tempera. The rice on the shrimp tempera roll tasted odd, and as a result, the whole roll didn't taste right. My husband was completely offended by the sashimi platter, which was supposed to come with 16 pieces of sashimi. However, half of those were cooked pieces of shrimp, octopus, egg, and crab. The sashimi itself was pretty terrible tasting (it was quite obviously frozen and not fresh), Despite being the only ones in there for some amount of time, we had to wait for our server to finish talking with the other servers at the cash register before he would bring us our bill. All in all, we won't be back

Chicken Katsu..i like the sauce of the vegetables but not the sauce on the chicken.

It is like 15 minutes drive away from the house but Im glad we came here for Friday dinner! Great customer service. Great sushi with a soo many varieties!! I was craving for port katsudon rice bowl but they dont have it so I decedided to get the chicken katsu..i like the sauce of the vegetables but not the sauce on the chicken... i thought i was going to get something in a bowl top with egg mixture soup on the top! So Maybe that was different!! :) The sushi and the udon tempura noodles ,on the other hand , were really good!

The Handroll Combo ($7.99): California,  Spicy California & Tuna. Includes salad & Miso.

What a pleasant, refined surprise here in Dexter with the addition of Sushi Time.  Well, frankly, any new restaurant in Dexter that is NOT another pizza joint is a move in the right direction. Thankfully,  Sushi Time succeeds and excels. Nice job on the lunch offerings.  The Handroll special was well presented, tasty and screamed freshness. All the lunch specials come with a small salad and bolwl of Miso.   Ginger dressing is spot on atop a nicely presented small bowl of fresh lettuce. Miso soup is delicious.  There is an emphasis in specialty rolls. Quite a few to pick from with about every combination available. My daughter loves the Bento Box lunch. Great presentation and yummy. Lacking are choices for Nigiri Sushi (clump of rice with a nice slice of fish atop). Perhaps those options will evolve as the restaurant establishes itself and builds a following.  That speaks to knowing the demand. I hope the menu grows some as I'm a ravenous fan of Ikura (salmon roe), Uni (sea urchin) and clam. Also absent are sake, beer or plum wine.  I'm a fan and looking forward to Sushi Time being a fixture here in Dexter.

Nice interior- spotless and well ordered.

We were seated right away. We ordered so much sushi, and everything came out quickly and tasted amazing. It was fresh and flavorful! My favorites of the ones we ordered were the crab rangoon roll and the crazy girl roll. But honestly the menu is sooo huge that you really can't go wrong. I'd love to come back and try more items!

Sushi Zen fits its name, relaxed environment while maintaining lovely decor. The service was fantastic. Our service Dov, was just the right level of friendly and engaging without ever being too much. He seemed to appear at exactly the right time. We order ginger salads, miso soup, and three rolls to split. The miso soup was a bit more flavorful than I've had at of restaurants, and we really liked it. The special California and the Alaska were the same as other good sushi places. My friend wanted to try the no name roll, which was baked, I didn't realize before ordering. I did not like it, but I am also not a fan of baked sushi, there was a sauce similar to a hot sauce on it I did not like. It was also too many flavors happening. The prices are the same as other similar quality sushi restaurants in the area. They do offer lunch specials, even on Sundays, that have a lunch price point .

After graduating my girlfriend [now wife] and I would make it a point to try and eat at Matsu-Chan when in the area, even after our first kiddo, and eventually our second. Last year before one of our trips to the area my wife let me know that they were under new management and when I looked at the new menu, I was saddened that all of my favorite items were no longer present, and it seemed that my beloved little slice of Japan was now "just" a ramen shop. While my wife loves and can handle ramen and the broth, I would typically get the different rice bowls, or other entrees because while I love me some good ramen it doesn't work out well for me with the hour or so trip to the area. We'd get some rolls, takoyaki, and other appetizers to share around the table before digging into our main entrees. With the increased prices, and fewer options, I will end up going to any of the multitude of places [Aji-ten is usually our #2] to get my kick. I'll miss the little shop and the times I've had, like perusing the manga while waiting for a table. I wish the old owners the best, and the new management as well, especially if it was a familial transfer, but Matsu-Chan is not for me anymore. My wife will eventually get up there and let me know how it is, but for now, I'm just happy that a little bento shop opened near my workplace run by two first gen transplants, so I can at least get my fix without the drive.

Others following us added their names to the waitlist. The restaurant is small with just a handful of tables. One chef, it appears, prepared all the meals. I barely glanced at the menu; I already knew I was having the ramen. The only question was which one. My friend selected the eel bowl while I had the miso pork soup. The latter was served with sliced pork, bamboo shoots, fish cake, and seaweed. The broth was full of flavor; I enjoyed every slurp. I appreciated that the meal was sizeable and inexpensive - I was able to stretch it to two meals. We did not linger given the number of people waiting.
