I think this is my first yelp review ever, and it's because we love sushi Thai SO much. The location made me hesitate at first, but know that it's the best hole in the wall spot. We order Sushi Thai for takeout every Sunday because we love it so much. I always get the Pad Se Ew and mango sticky rice, and my partner always gets Pad Thai and spring rolls. The portions are pretty large (I always have leftovers) and it's a great price if you don't order from a delivery app. We hope Sushi Thai stays in business forever because I will be completely devastated if they ever close down - no other Thai spot in hermitage compares!! read more

This is the former location of Taki restaurant. The new owners closed the place for a few months and renovated it. They currently have beer available. Sushi Thai is Hermitage's hidden gem! Located in a strip mall, it's a small restaurant with probably 10 tables and a sushi bar. The restaurant serves a traditional Thai menu, but also has some dishes that are unique and eclectic. The sushi is just as good and fresh. So you can't go wrong whether you do Thai, Japanese or both! I see why this place has nothing but 5 star reviews! When you walk in, you notice right off the bat how clean the restaurant is. The menu is extensive, consisting of both sushi and Thai food, but we decided to go with just sushi tonight and it did not disappoint! The first roll, the Dragon Roll, initially made me uncertain due to it containing bbq eel, but let me tell you- it was GREAT! The next roll, the New Yorker Roll, was also delicious- a bit spicy with the spicy tuna on top, but very yummy! Finally, the Walk A Way roll was my favorite! It is fried, which I usually try to avoid, but of the 3 was the most savory. From the pictures of other customers, this appears to be the favorite among all! Portions were large. We are big eaters but didn't even finish all our food and left completely satisfied. The staff was very friendly and service was excellent. We will most definitely be returning. We've been coming to this spot since moving to the area six years ago. When the previous owners sold it, we waited anxiously while the renovations were underway, hoping it would remain a sushi and Asian cuisine restaurant. The wait was worth it, as the new owners have completely refreshed both the physical space, the atmosphere, and the menu - all for the better. They kept the beautiful wood walls, but completely cleaned and upgraded the entire dining room. It now has comfortable booths and good lighting. The staff are warm and welcoming - a big change from the last owners. And the food is delicious! When it was still under the previous ownership, the food was always hit or miss for me, but now as Sushi Thai everything we've tried has been fantastic. We went twice in one week after it reopened because my husband was craving the soy-wrapped spicy tuna roll. His other favorite at the moment is the New Yorker. My stepson loves the Tornado Roll. I have had the Pad Thai and Sweet and Sour, both with tofu and both delicious. The crab rangoon appetizer was amazing. It tasted like it was made fresh instead of fried from frozen. tl;dr - We are happy we got to keep our local sushi joint and that the new owners are taking it to the next level. Hidden gem in Hermitage. We love Sushi Thai! It's local and cozy. The staff knows us by name as they do most of their customers. We eat here almost every week and their fish is always fresh! We love their specialty roll options our favorites being: Kobe, Triple Crown, Mango Tango and Senator. The Miso soup isn't great, but the dumplings are perfect! This is our favorite sushi place in Nashville. Last night we also got their Pad Thai for the first time. My wife absolutely loved it. I thought it was very good. The portion was smaller than other Pad Thai that I've had. We usually have leftovers to take home. I like a little more flavor and spiciness to it, but it was still good. This time we got the Sunrise Roll as an appetizer with Spicy Mayo on the side since my wife doesn't like spicy. One of our favorites! (others are Dragon Roll, and Crunchy Shrimp Roll). The dining room is nice. It is small and can fill up fast. We got there early and got a table right away. Our server was Noonie (Americanized name is Kathy). She was and excellent server.
