Fried tofu appetizer (Tofu Siam, according to the menu I think?)
Rachael H.

Was so happy to see another Sushi Thai location after a couple of excellent meals at the Salida location. Service was good, generous portions of food (fried tofu and chicken pad Thai), and lots of flavor. The pad Thai noodles were cooked expertly, included the freshest chicken I think I've ever tasted on a Thai dish, and it was saucy! My disappointment was in the notable differences in how this location prepares the same exact meal I love so much from the Salida location, just 30 min down the road. I'd probably make the trek to Salida next time, but am glad they're doing well enough to pop up in new places around the area.

You really need to pay attention to order and what patrons are asking. Wife and I got our food 15 minutes apart. Seriously?

Winner winner wonderful dinner! Actually, we were here for lunch, but the lunch menu is the same…read moreas the dinner menu. We were warmly cordially greeted as soon as we entered the door. The ambience is very nice. It is open and bright and clean and Asian. They also had a case of desserts (like tiramisu) and ice cream. I've been going to Fairplay for years. I never stopped here because I didn't know what it would be like. Well let me tell you, the service could not have been better. Welcoming, efficient, readily able to make requested adjustments to dishes. There are many items on the menu to choose from. We had tofu and vegetables sesame chicken. Both were just so amazingly delicious. I actually find myself thinking of finding an excuse to go back to FairPlay so I can get such wonderful food again because in my area it's hard to find such good Asian food. I cannot recommend this place enough. It checked all of the boxes and then some. The only downside is there are no lunch specials but I felt like the food was worth every penny we paid.

No soft ice cream I felt like things were going to go downhill from there but, fortunately it didn't. Truth be told, we've been coming here since Covid so it's ok just a lot of negativity up front. Simple menu and decent service punctuate the odd cross section of ice cream, hard only and Asian fusion food. We were hungry campers so we took it all in stride...plenty of seating and quick service. We had the edamame, the crab Rangoon which is minus crab but seems to have Rangoon sauce and the fried gyoza which were yummy. There were five of us and their one cook churned it out in rapid fire order. It was very distracting and why I can't give 5 stars. Service was great - our server was attentive and all employees shared in clearing plates which I always like to see. Nothing really stood out to me as far as decor goes - if there was anything cool it was overshadowed by the tvs. For drinks, my husband had an old fashioned which was good but not out of the park. I had their mocktail of the moment which was a yuzu Moscow mule. It was delicious and I'd highly recommend. On the food front, Hideout did a grand job. We started with their special loaded kimchi waffle fries. Epic! I love kimchi and everything about this dish was perfect. For entrees, my husband had their Thai Me Up Burger with shoestring fries and was very pleased with it. Cooked as requested and fun flavors. I had their Fried Chicken Sandwich with kimchi pasta salad and while I only ate half due to being filled from waffle fries, it was very tasty. On the whole, I enjoyed the food and drink at The Hideout, but not sure I would return for the atmosphere or recommend for large groups who want to hang out sans distractions. Zero Proof Review: I'm on a quest to check out all the zero proof, mocktail and n/a beverages that Denver and beyond has to offer. The Hideout did not have a very robust selection so I would love to see them expand that, but their seasonal mocktail was one of the best I've had, so kudos for creativity and craft!

Utterly superb. Truly - and not without significant competition - the best restaurant in Aspen…read more Every dish, without exception, is extraordinary. I went last year (its first year open) and thought it was amazing...but sometimes returning to a restaurant you remember to be good proves disappointing. Upon returning this year - our most anticipated reservation of our annual trip to Aspen - I was completely blown away. The most difficult part about eating at Wayan is choosing among myriad items that all look amazing. We got the following... - the hamachi crudo appetizer...I was a little reluctant to order it because it seemed like the most conventional dish on the menu. So glad our waiter raved about it because it was somehow both delightfully refreshing yet deeply complex in flavor - the spring rolls - the mushrooms inside were a brilliant touch and the sauce...I literally finished it with a spoon - chicken satay - okay another seemingly conventional dish yet somehow more succulent than any chicken I've had with sauce that I also used a spoon to eat the last drop of - short rib fried rice - as good as it sounds. Unctuous yet not greasy. Perfectly plump yet not too rich. Exactly what you hope to get when ordering it - cauliflower - somehow even grilled cauliflower was elevated both texturally and gustatorily (confession - the word gustatory escaped me so when looking it up I discovered a perfect word to describe pretty much the entire meal - Organoleptical means means flavor + aroma + mouthfeel) - corn fritter - the menu needs to be updated to add a warning label for this dish. DO NOT EAT STANDING UP...your knees will buckle, you will swoon. The oozing crispness...the sauce that is somehow both complex in flavor yet doesn't mask the natural deliciousness of the corn itself...I will be dreaming about that first bite - sides of brussel sprouts and mushrooms (brought to us by mistake but once I tasted I refused to send them back...apologies to whatever table had to wait extra for their mushrooms) were both delectable and highly complementary to the rest of the meal - banana sundae dessert - really fun way to cap the meal. Sneakily good...most of the dishes above punch you in the face with deliciousness...the sundae starts nice but gets better with each bite Part of me wants to cancel the rest of our reservations and just return here. Can't wait to come back...either next year or quite possibly tomorrow.

Very vibe-y with a loud DJ…read more Aspen has many restaurants sprinkled around with delicious hits. As a newer restaurant to the city, the first of its kind to serve Indonesian cuisine, I was disappointed that the flavors were muted compared to the vibrant atmosphere. I wish they had more vegetable offerings as there was only brussel sprouts or a salad that barely had lettuce. The pandan custard had way too much passion fruit puree - it was very tart and overpowered the pandan flavor. Pricing is on par for family-style portions. There were long waits between the small plates, large plates, and desserts. The best dish was the cheese chocolate plate which was a surprising delight.

Filet mignon pho- the broth was hearty with good flavor. This was a great choice after hitting the slopes. I do have to say the meat could have been more tender. However, overall, it was a good bowl of pho. The portion for regular size was fairly large. Two people could have potentially shared. The server was really attentive and I would come back if we are back in town.
