This was my 2nd time here. We live over two hours away, so we are not in Salida often, but the last time we were there, we tried this place based on Yelp reviews. We stayed in town with friends this last weekend and we brought them to Sushi Thai on the first night. It could not have been any better. The shrimp pad Thai is absolutely freaking delicious. I also got three pieces of salmon sushi and added jalapeno and oh my dang, I did not expect it to be that delicious. I absolutely loved it. My wife also got the shrimp pad Thai, but our friends got pad se ew and Thai fried rice and they also loved it. The following night we went to Buena Vista for dinner and noticed there is also a Sushi Thai there as well. On our way home to Colorado Springs, we stopped for lunch in Woodland Park and freaking noticed there is also a Sushi Thai there as well! This makes me so happy. My granddaughter and I ate at Sushi Thai a few days ago. The restaurant is very cute, the service was really friendly and we loved the food! Nice little place with great choices of sushi, pho and curries. We had a nice selection of sushi rolls, good beer and ice cold water. Each sushi roll we had was almost to perfection and the spicy ones were just the correct amount of heat to them. This place was really busy and staff handled it pretty well. We were able to be seated outside on the sidewalk, a tad cramped but we made it work. Staff did an outstanding job of waiting on us! Totally recommend this location. read more

We were created nicely and promptly seated. Everyone was very polite. Drinks were kept filled and entrees and apps came out in the right order! All of our food, the Pad Thai with Chicken, Tuna Poke Bowl, and Red Curry (not pictured) was delicious. As a former Salida resident, I was thrilled to see some new additions to town. Finding food outside of pizza, burgers and Mexican in the heart of the Rockies can be quite the challenge. Sushi Thai is such a welcomed addition. The service was incredible... my water was never empty. Rare to have this kind of service post-Covid. Order the shrimp pad Thai and spice level 4 and it was very good. It's above average Thai. The heat of the 4 was mild at best if you're a heat seeker. I was surprised by the large portion of shrimp as well! It's a little pricey, but everything in Salida is pricey. But in my opinion, I find you can excellent value for the money. If I still lived here, Sushi Thai would definitely be in my bi-weekly rotation! Side note, the fried shrimp shumai is a great starter! read more

Wow, what a great surprise to find such a gem! We popped in for lunch on a Friday. They weren't busy and we were seated right away. Looking over the menu, everything sounded good so we went with a sushi roll and drunken noodles. It had been a while since we had a good meal of either. The sushi roll came first, wow! It was massive and so beautifully crafted 7/5! The drunken noodles arrived next, it was a big plate and packed full of flavor, perfectly spicey 6/5! Oh, and the crab rangoon was spot on 5/5! The portions were great but we went back to the menu to look at what we could order next time. I would get this weekly if they were closer to Denver... I guess I need to get to Salida more! I ate there yesterday. The duck was absolutely delicious and was comparable to the best Peking Duck I have eaten in Chinese restaurants. I used to eat duck in Czech restaurants and have missed it, so this was a real treat for me. The duck portion was very generous. I had it in the Pad See Yew (forgive my spelling) and the duck went well with the thick seasoned noodles. My wife thought her Tom Kha soup was the best she had. This is one of my favorite places in Salida. The menu is versatile and lets you mix and match between cuisines. The prices are very reasonable. And the food presentations are beautiful! I really hate to give this place a bad review, and it's not my normal practice to do so. But, the combination of food and service really didn't impress me. Maybe I'm expecting too much for a small town, so if you're not used to exceptionally good Thai food and sushi, this might be just right for you. I placed a to-go order on a Friday night and it was frustratingly hard to pay. The cash register was malfunctioning I guess, because it took swiping 2 different credit cards about 5 times each before it finally worked. The machine wouldn't accept tap, chip, or swipe, but after enough tries it finally worked. Unfortunately, they didn't give me all 3 items in my order, so once I got back to my hotel I found out I was missing the $18 sushi roll. I guess if you're in a small town and there are limited options, people will pay $18 for a roll that would cost something like $12 at the King Soopers in Denver. It just sucks that they didn't give it to me and I had to drive back to the restaurant. In the meantime, while they were hot, we tried a bit of the crab rangoon and pad thai: two items I bought specifically because other reviewers spoke highly of them. Crab rangoons were "meh" - sorry, the ones I get from the hole-in-the-wall chinese takeout place are better. The pad Thai was too spicy for the "medium" level I ordered and all around just average. All things considered, I recommend checking out one of the many other restaurants in Salida. If you're going to eat here, dine in. I think it would have been a more pleasant experience, even if the food was still just OK. read more

So I called in an order and when I went to pick it up the place was PACKED! The wait was an hour long! This was my first time coming here and I was very impressed by that. People were willing to wait and hour just to eat here! Well, when I got home one item was missing. It wasn't too much of a big deal, but that sucked! The food was good. The pad-see-ew was 7/10 it was a bit salty. The sushi rolls were about a 7/10. The sashimi was 9/10. The green curry was good. It is expensive though. read more

Wow. I have no words! This place gets busy QUICK, so go early if you can!! We got started with the Crab Rangoon and I swear it was probably the best Rangoon we have ever had.
