We came into Crested Butte for the night because they were expecting 7-11 inches of fresh powder. We've been going from state to state and mountain to mountain powder searching. I started searching for a place to eat up here and everything had 2 stars and all the reviews were negative about the food and everything else. Stumbled upon this place online and it had 5 stars and great reviews. I was a little skeptical because no restaurant ever has 5 stars. Gave it a shot and couldn't have been more happy. I sat at the bar and the staff was very friendly and easygoing. I had the Wings and the Fried chicken. Once I got the fried chicken I kind of thought to myself I'm an idiot because I got wings for an app and now more chicken lol. Both were amazing and the gravy on the fried chicken was out of this world. I got the pot roast to go for a friend of mine who was in the hotel because he wasn't feeling to well. He said it was out of this world. Mind you we've been going from hotel to hotel on this powder search. All in all this place was amazing. Thank you. read more

Gone are the ski days of eating a sandwich from my pocket. Ski areas have really changed. My new favorite spot is The Divvy. The sandwiches are so tasty, fresh ingredients and awesome buns. Having had the sandwiches a couple times, I decided to try the salad version of the sandwiches. The Bok Bok salad was so good!! Service was excellent, they really care, and the atmosphere is nice. Look forward to trying their dinners, heard great reviews. Highly recommend, in the Mountain Square across from the ticket center We love the lunch menu, but last night we tried the dinner menu, it was so good. The menu has an Asian fusion twist. We shared a starter of charred peppers in a delicious salsa of herbs, peanuts, so good. We chose the duck confit, and oyster mushrooms. The dishes come with Chinese steamed buns, lettuce to make wraps and all the condiments, pickled veggies, kimchi, and sauces. This menu is so innovative and different, can't wait to try some of the other combos. We had a nice Oregon Pinot Noir, but next time will try one of their craft cocktails. We visited here for their Christmas Eve meal and it was a great experience! Every course was delicious. The deviled eggs starters were great, then an excellent salad, then fried chicken with mashed potatoes, collared greens, caviar, then desert was pecan pie with bourbon ice cream. It was fabulous! Their food is all from local farms. The service was excellent. Everyone involved seemed genuinely concerned about providing a great meal and dining experience. Thank you for a wonderful evening! They don't have beer on tab, so we each had a glass of wine. The beef was very good, though $48 for 7 oz, cubed in a platter, is overpriced. The $16 fried chicken was full of skins and odd shape parts, only one piece was cubed, and very salty. The platter (meant to serve 2 people) was not big, but with 2 entries - beef and chicken, salted beets, kimchi, finely sliced hot chili (Mexican style), salted cucumber thin slices, and 4 little bread buns, and, 3 sauce cups- way too much of flavors! small quantity yet very very salty plate. The Korean spicy is different than Mexican spicy and so far no one is trying to mix the 2 flavor classes blending together.....very creative approach yet again, has too much salt. I wonder would this platter satisfies 2 skiers in winter. because we sat at the bar, I was able to see the entire kitchen - freezers, chiefs stove, cutting boards, storage stack full of pots and restaurant supplies, and the chef's knife bars....all in my sight LOL! A small place yet a lot of staff. They did take off the fried chicken from the bill after hearing my opinions. And we walked around for 10 minutes then into the Avalanche, each had a Draft Stela and shared a 10-piece chicken wings not buttered, happy end. As locals, we always kind of passed by Divvy for the last year & a half since they opened. Just kind of remembered django's there & it affected my judgement about trying it... ANYWAYS, the girlfriend had us try it this winter and am pretty pissed I never gave it a shot. The happy hour has a $3 house beer and a bunch of other solid craft selections in bottles/cans. Food is absolutely solid! No joke, great sandwiches & salads. People running it are attentive and great. No complaints whatsoever. They are still growing into the space & making it their own, but they have the wall projector running ski/extreme movies non-stop, which is a welcome change from sportscenter. While skiing in Crested Butte, we discovered The Divvy. It bills itself as a soup and salad place, but I believe its more. They have wine, craft beer and an amazing cheese board. This is a hidden gem away from the usual skiing staples of chicken wings and pizza. I'm glad we stopped in here and wish that it hadnt been towards the end of our trip. This was the only restaurant open past 9pm on a Friday nite so we decided to take our chances. What a surprise! the appetizers we ordered we wonderful! We came back the next night for a full dinner and we were not disappointed. The cocktails were perfect, and the "sandwich" entree was wonderful! Calling this food "sandwiches" does NOT do it justice. I was in Asia for two years and learned to steer away from bao buns (they were never properly cooked and always soggy). The buns at Divvy are perfect!
