Really don't care much about the rotating conveyor for their sushi. What matters most to me is the quality of the sushi and the flavor and freshness. They dab their rolls with too much mayonnaise or sriracha and also pack the rolls with cream cheese which really dilutes and defeats of having sushi. Why do I keep ordering from this place? I've been a loyal customer since they opened, even during the "covid" pandemic. However, the quality of their food has declined over the past year, and they've started charging extra for every little packet of sauce when you order takeout. I like that most rolls are 4-piece; and virtually all nigiri is 2-piece. As such, it is easy to try a selection of things. If you get something you don't like - not a big deal - because plates are small. I introduced my kids to sushi this way. Another advantage is that you don't need to decide up front how much you want to eat. You just stop when you're full. The rolls have always been great here, but yesterday I had several new ones that I've never seen before. The Fire Eye Super White was my favorite of the night, with Caribbean Shrimp second. The Fire Station Roll is a steal at $4 for 6 pieces. And the Spicy Scallop Nigiri had a really nice texture. Had the Oreo Dream Bar for dessert, but overpriced at $5 and should be 1 for $3 or 2 for $5. Service was also great... the host sat us immediately, our server was quick with taking our drink orders and keeping them full, and when we put in some custom orders, they came out super fast. All this and a full 10 years later and this place is still a great place to chill and try some new sushi. Loved that they have the Cooking channel on as ambiance. As a former employee, I can confidently say the sushi is not fresh whatsoever. This is kind of like a fast food sushi place. Or a sushi buffet is kind of a better comparison. Except the buffet comes to you. And it isn't one price for all the food you can eat, you have to add up the costs of what you are eating. The colored plates make it fairly easy to do though. I'm no sushi expert but the quality doesn't seem that far off from your standard sushi place. I suppose it is not quite as good, but the difference is negligible to me personally. And the cost of you dinner should be a little lower. You are paying for smaller portions where you can control how much you are getting and paying pretty specifically. There should be almost no waste unless you just don't like something. And you don't have to order a great big roll for $15 because you want to try it; you can just get 2 or 4 pieces of it for 2.50, 3.50, etc, topping out at 6:50. Kids who will eat sushi will like the conveyor belt and they have some cool Japanese sodas and other stuff to appeal to kids too. And they will make fresh whatever you want for the same price. Its not a high class expensive sushi restaurant but you can feed a family of 3 for around $30 which is great. I guess my only complaint would be there seemed to be some flies buzzing around when we were trying to eat. Not alot but a few. Thought the sushi was great. The biggest issue was the ebb and flow of availability on the conveyor. When we sat down, there were tons of great options. About 20 minutes in, the conveyor was basically nothing but edamame and red bean paste items. We ended up just ordering more items off the menu because of the scarcity of options, which was fine, but kinda reduced the attractiveness of going to a rotating conveyor sushi restaurant. By the time we were ready to leave, a few new items did start to show up, though many of them were gimmicky items like a chicken and BBQ sauce roll that didn't really fit the mold of choices you expect to see as a sushi option. Brought to attention of server and told menu is old. Suggested they should mention it to customer instead of just up charging on final bill. Said it was a scummy practice. She walked away and adjusted my bill (only reason not a 1 star review).
