What if I told you one of the most affordable and quality sushi spots in Brooklyn was called Sushi Spot and it was inn the Hasidic Jewish neighborhood in Crown Heights? Hard to believe? A vegan first recommended this hidden gem because of its diverse assortment of plant based sushi options. I've had my fill and if you want more than the sweet potato rolls to fill your vegetarian sushi options, then this place is your bag. For those who like to splurge with tempura, and crunchy rolls, they have options like the "dragon rolls" which give that satisfying mix of textures and salty and sweet. Another unique thing about this place is they have many cooked and raw options. So if you or you're dining with someone who hasn't taken the complete sushi plunge, you have many cooked options. Lastly, the service, theres usualmy a laid back Aussie in there who just completes the experience with his cool "No worries mate" demeanor and warmth. They deliver locally and you can order online so they got the bases covered. Just remember if you're trying to eat on Friday night or Saturday afternoon they'll be closed for Shabbas. But do yourself a favor and try them out. They will hit your sushi spot! read more

Sushi Spot - They do party platters like this at a reasonable price too. - Sushi Bars Near Me - New York, New York

Ordered 2 or 3 times and the wait for a delivery or via Uber eats was excessive in all instance - you call them and they say " we got very backed up" Done and over onward to another choice read more

The sushi was amazing to eat and good people who is working there I give me five stars

I hated this place, very horrible raw food, the sushi there made me SICK, I've almost got poisoned by one of these employees there, the customer service is horrible, the ambiance is just a quiet place but nobody to interact just useless "workers" read more

I went to Sushi Spot today. And me and my Jewish friend were eating. And we weren't done. She was still drinking her drink. A man wanted to sit down. Sometimes people come and there aren't tables. And people have to wait for a table. But instead of the guy waiting. The non-Jewish worker comes to our table and tells us he has to sit with us. And I tell the non-Jewish guy we are not done. And we don't want anyone sitting with us. But he insists. Anyways so the Jewish guy forces his way over to sit down with us. It was a very crowded small area. And my friend feels totally uncomfortable moves her chair totally away from him moving it into the garbage can/ wall literally. But she is just trying to move away from this guy. And like a second later we just are like forget like let's just get up and leave. She throws away her drink. And then I tell the Jewish manager guy like so insensitive what went on here? Like you are a Jewish establishment you should do better and be more culturally sensitive. Then I thought I bring my Muslim daughter here who doesn't sit next to men at all like not even for a minute. What if it had been her in this circumstance? Not going back there. It's one thing to ask us can this person sit at our table. But if we say we don't feel comfortable you should respect that and not force us to sit next to someone we don't want to. read more

I have been ordering from them for over a year and i have never really had an issue other than when i would sometimes order cucumber rolls they would unravel before i could eat them. Well recently the last two times i have ordered they have been rude and sloppy. Today i ordered a salmon sushi besides the fact that it took 1hr and 45mins to come I noticed that each salmon was discolored. One even had blood on it! I'm beyond disturbed... won't order from them again. SB:This costs 19.95 (Photos attached) read more

We were exceptionally pleased with the catering order and delivery we had for 20 people. Everything was delivered on time and looked beautiful. Our guests were very happy with the selection we worked out with Dovid. He was wonderful to work with. Everyone had so much to eat, it was visually beautiful and the quality of fish both raw and cooked was great. Highly recommended read more

This has got to be my favorite sushi spot in the neighborhood. If you like sushi with a fusion twist, you must try this place, but, if you want authentic Japanese sushi, you May not enjoy this. Also, it's kosher so everything is usually cooked, so if you want raw sushi, you have to specify that you want raw when you put in your order. It's definitely my go to place. The place itself is quite small and gets pretty packed. I usually order and pick up or get it delivered. They have a good range of sushi's and I love the spicy mayo and eel sauce that comes with every order. The prices are quite reasonable as well and good quantity. read more

Delicious sushi, poor service, missing half my order, refused to rectify. I ordered through Uber eats, missing half my order. when I called to reorder the restaurant refused to take my order despite new payment in full directly. read more

Terrible sushi, totally worth the skip, they do not have shrimp or chicken, wanted a shrimp tempura, had to settle for the rosy roll which is a deep fried salmon roll with avacado and special sauce. The flavors did not blend well and I did not enjoy it. read more

Since I started eating kosher sushi, I have been plagued with mediocre, at best, sushi. I know that this is not the way that it should be, as sushi has very simple components.. This is the first kosher sushi spot that executes correctly. The rice has the right tart/sweet combination and does not overwhelm the fish. The sauces are just right. When dining with a friend, I recommend getting a lunch special and a big roll (that was a tip from the guy manning the counter and a nice money saver--he turned out to be right.) Great spot for kosher sushi. read more

Horrible customer service: I ordered from sushi spot before and didn't have a problem (5:30pm sunday). This time though was a different story. Called to place an order and told them my address and cross streets- don't deliver there They've delivered to me at my location before. (Chatter in the background) We probably had a car then- nope the delivery guy was on a moped I asked if they want me to call back in an hour when it's less busy that's not a problem for me. (More chatter) We can do a $60 minimum- quite ridiculous considering last time was a $15 minimum (Puts me on hold) OK we can do a $20 minimum- sorry not happening. How is 2:30 Thursday afternoon any different than 5:30 Sunday evening? Fickle management with no proper direction. Don't rely on them for food if you aren't in a 2 block radius. read more

The food was okay at best. Make sure to ask your receipt and cross reference the menu. For some reason I was charged over $16 for a California and Philly roll and a canned drink. When I got back to my desk I noticed there was a 9.99 "Lunch Menu" for two rolls. Even if charged separately I don't understand how the California roll ($4.50) and Philly Roll ($4.99) and a small canned coke could amount to ~$16. Then again maybe that's what I get for trying something out my comfort zone. read more

Sushi Spot is hands-down one of the best sushi options in the neighborhood. The rolls have always tasted fresh, they have tasty combinations and good prices too. Simple rolls are around $4-$6 and their more complex rolls run from $8-11. Sushi Spot is a kosher-run restaurant, but lacking a Japanese chef in the kitchen doesn't seem to be hurting their product any, in fact they turn it into a strength with a slew of NYC/Jewish-centric named rolls (like the Alternate Side and Hava Nagila) and portions your Bubbe would approve of. The speciality rolls are all big, big, big, so keep in mind when ordering that you may be able to get just as full with a fewer number of rolls here than other places. The biggest challenge with Sushi Spot is their hours, they run on the Orthodox Jewish clock, so they're closed on Jewish holidays and you'll have to figure out when the Sabbath starts and ends if you're ordering on a Friday or Saturday. Well priced sushi. Fish can be hit or miss in terms of quality. Never had a bad experience but some days are better than others.

When this place first opened it was AWESOME! Not so much anymore... it's not very clean, or orderly. The men behind the counter are rude, the chefs are not clean and appear to have given up on appearance completely! Even the quality of the sushi has gone from GREAT to very average. I wouldn't say do not eat here, I will say weigh your options. read more

Please don't order from this place. It will legitimately take you TWO HOURS to receive your food. At this point it's been TWO HOURS AND COUNTING! I could've sat down somewhere had two drinks and have been done. read more

I LOVE Sushi, I am a Sushi Feen. Sushi Spot, is right in my neighborhood. The Sushi is prepared quickly and the sushi is tasty and prepared correctly. The location is kind of small but very clean and efficient. They make deliveries but I have not had the pleasure of ordering out from home. I have only taken to go or eaten in the restaurant. I highly recommend if you are craving Sushi and this is not too far from you or you are in the area. read more

My sister and I ordered the lunch special online and we got some pretty typical rolls like spicy tuna and tuna avocado roll. The reason I'm not giving 4 stars is because the online system is wonky and they never printed out my order until I called. That being said, they told me I would get my order in 15 min and they followed through even though the weather outside is horrible and it was peak lunch time. The rolls themselves are good, what you would expect from a typical sushi place. I will order again via the telephone and might try some other rolls. read more

I have never posted on before but felt I had to. I just ordered the crispy rice w/ spicy tuna appetizer, the OMG! roll, and yellowtail w/ jalapeno. The crispy rice and OMG roll looked like cat food. I had a few bites and had to throw the whole thing out. It was absolutely disgusting. The yellowtail w/ japaleno was alright but I ended up just eating the rice and pushed the yellowtail (which looked off) out the middle. I would never eat here again. read more

Wow! Just got sushi platter delivered in under 40 minutes.

Ok. First off.. I live 2 blocks away therefore I am free to satisfy my sushi craving whenever I please. Sushi spot has great quality "kosher" sushi and great employees. I've seen sushi for a bit cheaper but with this convenient location, I am fine to spend a little more cents. #spicyyellowtail read more

Sushi spot is HANDS DOWN the BEST SUSHI IN THE NEW YORK. I have ate sushi at so many sushi places and I only order from the Sushi Spot. PROS: 1) They are the only sushi spot that doesn't charge for brown rice 2) Their sushi is very fresh. We have been ordering from them since they opened (about 3 years) and not one time did we have an unfresh sushi. 3) If you look up their restaurant inspection details, they have never received more than about 4 points in violation. This comes to show that they really do care about their business. 4) They are always true to their word and warn you how long it will be for pick up/delivery instead of saying one thing and then it comes out the other. 5) Their lunch special is very affordable and they throw in a free drink. CONS: 1) I have had employees mix up my order with white rice instead of brown and I've had orders where the rice was coming apart very easy (it's suppose to stick) but It's not enough reason to not like them. 2) When they are really busy, they will try to rush you off the phone. But it is understandable though. I would really miss them if I moved far away and I would definitely come back to the area just to dine with them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !! read more

Great sushi at really great prices. The spicy tuna roll is my personal favorite. Service is quick and they never mess up the order.

Food is ok, but service is horrible. Placed an order over the phone, took 2.5hrs before the food arrived. Never ordering from them again.

Amazing kosher sushi!! Loved the sushi!! Chillin vibe chillin people love that place Definitely recommended!!

I love this sushi restaurant best sushi i ever had at a very convenient price. I did an online order. I ordered the rosey roll, shrimp tempura roll, and California roll. Even though the delivery took 30 minutes, it was worth the wait. Imagine a fried sushi roll! Now thats amazing ! Kudos to the rosey roll! read more

This sushi place is great. Delicious fresh Sushi, and fairly priced. They also have the quickest most-reliable delivery service of all tho kosher places in Crown Heights.
