Came here with some friends after a couple of us had discovered we had never been here and were curious about Mexican sushi. It's a small restaurant - no reservations - and most people we observed grab carryout or to-go rather than dine in. The parking lot is even smaller - with a couple spots taken up by a taqueria stand at the entrance. The staff were super kind - not overwhelmed by our group and rolled out the rolls as they were done. The main server/host gave her recommendations when we were ordering. The TLDR - lots of fresh, fried, typical and/or Sonoran-inspired rolls. We ordered 9 rolls for the 7 of us, and it definitely was the right amount of food ordered - no crumbs left behind. The consensus winner was the Dinamite Roll, with the Percheron being a close second. Getting a smorgasbord of rolls is *the* way to go, that way everyone gets to try a little of everything. My husband and I found out about this place on social media. We don't live in Phoenix so we were excited to finally try it! We actually wanted to go to the sports bar location; we didn't realize it was only one location that served alcohol. That was obviously our fault so it was no big deal, we still enjoyed our food and drinks. The sushiles was really delicious, and we both were excited to try the rolls as we've never had sushi with any other meat than fish. We both enjoyed our rolls, it was definitely different than what we are used to but they were okay! We agreed that warm sushi rolls were not really our thing but we'd still like to come back to try more! The service was great, we came pretty early so we were the only customers. What did I bite into??? There was a piece of plastic in the carrot salad! I am in Phoenix for two days, and a friend recommends this Mexican Sushi spot. I decide to get the Vaquero Roll and Hot Cheeto Roll. They're OK. Not real sushi rolls but I should have gotten a real one to compare. I decide to focus on the very good crab salad and the carrot salad. Lo and behold there is a PIECE OF PLASTIC in the salad. So disappointed it took what apetite I had away. To be honest, as my first time trying this I was hoping it'd be good for the price. I got this and the orange chicken over white rice. This had no flavor to it and it wasn't even that good. The other one orange chicken had to much peppers and onion and wasn't even crispy as i thought it would. I also tried the hot Cheetos rolls and it tasted the same as the other rolls. I came here for a late lunch, around 3pm/4pm. I was the only person dining in, but people were coming in-and-out to pick up orders. They were very busy when it came to pick-up orders. The phone rang a lot too. So, I could tell this was a popular place. I've never been to a sushi place like this before. It was definitely on the non-traditional side. But, that's what made it interesting and fun! What really got me was that they had rolls with chicken and beef in it! That was unheard of to me. I always thought sushi was strictly fish/seafood. I had no idea! But, you learn something new everyday! I didn't want to go too out of my comfort zone when ordering a roll. As, a chicken or beef roll just didn't seem too appealing to me... But, I did want to order something different; something that I've never had before! So, I decided to order the Flamed Salmon roll. This roll was filled with cucumber, avocado, cream cheese, and crab mix. And, the outside had thin slices of salmon with a spicy touch. For the most part, I enjoyed the roll. But, it was something about the rice that I didn't like... Idk if it was overcooked, undercooked, or what. But, the rice was definitely throwing me off. This is a one of a kind establishment. Sushi meets Mexican style. I felt like it was important to include a screenshot of the menu because a lot of rolls come with cream cheese. I am not a big fan of cream cheese on my sushi but it acceptable for some rolls. I ate there and they did give bottles of their spicy mayo, eel sauce and other sauces which is a big plus in my book. The Vegas Roll was delicious. It was made to perfection and met all the criteria for a standard Vegas roll. It was my favorite far and away. The Salmoncito and Pochan Roll were average at best. There was far more rice in the roll than there should be. It was nicely prepared with lots of sauce and topped with salmon. However, both were loaded with cream cheese. I was not a fan of these rolls. The Perecheron Roll was their best selling roll. I had to order it because it just sounded very unique. It was made with Carne, Chicken, Bacon, and melted cheese on top that is deep fried. While it wasn't my favorite I recommend ordering it when you're there because it is their staple. I will not be going back here but it is a fine establishment. The service is quick, the prices are great for what you get. read more

The only thing on the menu that seemed super appealing to me was the Dinamita Roll, since I am a fan of shrimp tempura topped with a savory sauce. It did not disappoint! Food is great but the quality and presentation is not consistent, they always prep you the rolls however they want and the servers aren't always the nicest. The cooks are always smiling. Interesting twist on Japanese/American sushi. Good variety offering all types of meats and vegetarian options. Large proportions and can be easily shared with others. Our rolls can "dry" but three types of sauces came in bottles which made it awesome to customize and get out of the traditional box of what you are used to. Soda came in cans and staff was friendly, if you have that "friend" who hates sushi don't worry you can leave them in the parking lot with the outdoor hot dog vendor, lol. Our top choices are the Cielo, Mar y Tierra roll (chicken, steak, shrimp, avocado, cream cheese) & Ceviche roll (shrimp, cucumber, avocado). The ceviche was very smooth and the hot sauce gave it a great spicy kick! The cielo, mar y Tierra was fried just right and a great combo of ingredients. The other two rolls were ordered were baked in tin foil (new concept for me!), Potan's Roll (crab mix, salmon, shrimp, cream cheese) & Percheron Roll (meat, chicken, bacon, avocado). Both were tasty as well but the flavor wasn't as great. Definitely a heavier roll... too much food for 2 people! Overpriced and underwhelming. The ambiance is terrible. No music, no TVs, no decor. Just some tables and the sound of the ac. The sushi was alright for Mexican sushi. Not worth it. The sushiles as an appetizer were ok. The worst part of the meal was the yakimeshi which is like fried rice. The chicken was SO dry and the shrimp too. Over all underwhelming wouldn't recommend. I would love to give this little place a 5 as the service is great, very friendly, clean and I would say they serve the best fried rice in town. When it comes to sushi though, it is just not my type. The food is great the presentation and itaste is just amazing. Too bad the place itself is not very good I think they can do a little bit better when he comes to the place, when you walk in the place is a little dark, they don't have any music, the TV is off, tables and chairs doesn't look very nice. They have a good quality sushi and people should know about it. I just hope they create a more warming and welcoming environment where everyone that goes to eat there. We were on the phone for like 40 minutes trying to speak with someone because they could not understand us on a simple request. Then we asked to speak to the manager and he was a straight out bitch, and hung up on us. This place has no sense of customer service. I will never eat here no matter how good the food is...
