I've had Orchid Sushi on my list of places to try for a long time now. I finally managed to get some takeout from them. UberEats was having a special on some of their rolls and 20% off on some other rolls and I took advantage of this deal. I got the Spicy Shrimp Futomaki which was 5 pieces for $8.20, this was the 20% off price. I also got the California Futomaki which was 5 pieces for $9.95 but this was buy one get one free (BOGO) so I got 10 pieces for that price. Finally, I got the Cucumber Hosomaki which was $6.25 for 6 pieces and this was also BOGO. I ordered on the UberEats app and went to the store to pick it up. The food was ready in about 20 minutes. Service was quick and efficient. I requested no sesame seeds and my order came as requested. The rolls were tasty. It's not gourmet sushi, but better than the casual fast food sushi restaurants. The cucumber rolls had wasabi in them, so had a spicy kick. The spicy shrimp rolls weren't all that spicy, but were the most delicious of the three rolls. The shrimp were plump and had a great texture. I loved the tempura bits in it. It also had avocado, oshinko, and tobiko. There was spicy mayo in it, but it wasn't all that spicy. The California rolls were also quite good. They had artificial crab, mayo, avocado, cucumber, tamago, and masago. The artificial crab was shredded which I don't like as much as when they leave it whole, but I liked that it had tamago in it. The interior is small but there's indoor dining as well as outdoor dining on their small patio out front. Street parking only. (145)

It's my go to place when i'm craving for sushi. Yes there are times when it's busy and lose items off your menu. My best suggestion when ordering off the ipad is to ordered 4-5 items at a time. They did not sprinkle sesame seeds on, but the General Tao sauce that they drizzle on the chicken contains black sesame seeds. Fortunately, I just have an intolerance, so I scraped off the sauce and I was fine, but if I had a true immune response allergy, I may not have fared as well. The poke bowl had spring mix, pineapple, mango, red peppers, cucumbers, carrots, oshinko (marinated Japanese radish), avocado, nori, panko crumbs, rice, and katsu chicken. It also had spicy mayo dressing, and the sesame seeds-containing General Tao sauce drizzled on the chicken. All ingredients tasted and looked fresh. No wilted greens nor black avocado. I loved all the different textures and flavours in the bowl. The chicken and panko crumbs were crunchy, the avocado was soft and creamy. The pineapple was tart, the mango was sweet. The carrots were little spiral strings and the cucumbers were cut into squares (!) they were just the centres without the peel. Everything was delicious. We chose the second level Omakase experience, which gives you five courses. Totally worth it. My husband and I just talked about going back to try all the different levels of it because that was some of the best sushi and sashimi I have ever had. Down to the miso soup, everything was amazing. Brian was so warm, welcoming, and attentive all evening. For the tasting menu, maybe 4/5. We got the cheapest tasting menu and everything was very delicious. However, there was no variety. It was almost all salmon and tuna with different topping that repeated like truffle oil. While delicious, this is nothing like a true omakase that focuses on seasonal ingredients or sitting at a sushi bar. We had a great time and good service, but I think I prefer the à la carte!
