    Combination platter to go

Good quality sushi with fresh indegridents. We've done pick up here a few times and the food is always on time for pick up. Staff is friendly. The price is fair for the quantity and the quality. I would go back again when I have a sushi craving.

My first time having sashimi and I really enjoyed it here! It was fresh and I even tried Uni for the first time.. although figured out I'm not a fan and it was expensive. Overall, not a bad restaurant.

We ordered take out yesterday and it just hit the spot.. lots of funky rolls for example the French kiss had apples in it which made it yummy and unique , there was snow something that had torched tuna on top, one had crispy sweet potatoes..it was on the expensive side of sushi but we really enjoyed the freshness and variety. Their pick up is very efficient and safe would definitely order again

All my peeps know I'm a sushi snob. Having lived in California, most every bit of sushi we get in Ottawa PALES in comparison in terms of freshness and quality to what you get on the coasts. It's not like we should be surprised by this...this is not a revelation. It's just a fact. And it's the reason I don't do sushi in Ottawa when i don't have to. Anyways... Sapporo is one of the few decent places to have sushi in Ottawa. The fish tastes fresh and it's sliced thick and with care. The lunch specials are priced reasonably and service is good. Will surely return.

I got takeout here for my husband and I. I was excited to try this place because of all the good reviews and because it's close to my house but in the end I think it's just ok and definitely not the best sushi I've ever had. Their lunch specials are very reasonably priced. The specials are 11am-3pm and range in price from $7.95 to $12.95. I got the Chicken Teriyaki Lunch Special ($7.95) and the California and Dynamite Rolls Lunch Special ($9.95). All specials come with miso soup, salad, and 2 fried dumplings. I came in at 12:15pm. There were 4 diners in the restaurant and 2 people waiting for takeout. I was told it would be 40 minutes for my takeout order (!) Good thing I live close by. I said ok, I'll be back in 40 minutes and went home and flaked around. But seriously, 40 minutes for lunchtime takeout seems a bit long to me. Anyway, I came back at 1pm and had to wait another 5 minutes or so. Not a huge deal, since I'd rather have fresh food than having had it sit in a takeout container for a long period of time. The hostess was super nice and offered me a glass of water while I waited. Now when I placed my order, I said no sesame seeds. When I got home I was very glad to see that the Maki rolls were made without sesame seeds (since this was my meal and I can't eat sesame seeds), but there were sesame seeds sprinkled on top of the Teriyaki Chicken and the rice that came with it. Not a big deal in this case since the Teriyaki meal was my husband's and he can eat sesame seeds, but technically the order was wrong. The rolls had good rice to other ingredients ratio. The California Rolls were ok, I felt they were pretty standard. I did not like the Dynamite Rolls. I felt the tempura shrimp was way too oily/greasy and the added mayo made the roll too fatty tasting. The dumplings were ok, but again I didn't feel like it was anything special. They were meaty on the inside and crispy on the outside. The soup was ok. It had cubes of soft tofu and pieces of wakame seaweed. It wasn't too salty. The salad was mostly iceberg lettuce with some slices of cucumber, and thin strings of carrots and beets. My husband said his teriyaki meal was ok. I do like that all takeout containers are compostable. The mains were in a divided paper box and not styrofoam. The soups and salads were also in paper containers. The restaurant did look cool inside. Overall food was ok, but I don't think it will be my go-to place for sushi around here. There is free parking in the back of the restaurant (entrance on Carling Ave slightly east of the restaurant). The parking lot to the west of the restaurant belongs to a different plaza.

The sushi and maki rolls were good. We went with the regular rather than their specialty rolls since thise are a bit on the pricy side. The food was good, not great, but I bump up the rating since staff was accommodating without a reservation and soup and salad were included as a complimentary bonus.

First off, this place has a lot to be desired for sense of urgency. My gosh they were soooooooooo slow. Quality was decent but portion size for the money also has much to be desired. Was it good? Yes Was it fresh? Yes But for the money there are several options in the area that not only give better portions but give much faster service. We ordered 7 rolls and salads along with tempura and chicken teriyaki. It took almost 2 hours to get the food. I asked twice for a second drink that never came. And they never asked once if everything was okay or if we needed anything. Is it good? Sure. Would I go back? Probably not. A for quality. D for service

I have very little words for this place but here goes. Convenient location, fast and super friendly service and the food.. Is literally my best sushi experience in Ottawa so far. The restaurant itself is fairly large, but with the wooden dividers it makes it very cosy and cute. Very clean as well. The back door entrance is also very convenient. Edit: I just want to mention the service was fast, both times I've been here but they were each at around 5:30 on weeknights.

Incredible service and food! My family came to eat here for a celebratory dinner. The food was great, portions were pretty generous and overall an amazing place to sit down and eat. Everyone is so nice and polite. They do their job very well. Would recommend for sure. The atmosphere is great and clean. For very generous portions, the prices were amazing. Great deal and next time I'm in Ottawa I'll stop by again.

Thoroughly disappointed by how long we had to wait for our food. I'm writing this as I wait so I'm sure feelings are a bit amplified but I think it's ridiculous to wait 1hr to get our sashimi-sushi platter. That was after waiting 15min just to get menus, and another 15 to get plates and cutlery. Our waitress offered no explanation until I sought her out multiple times. Taste of food was average from what I could tell. Karage was over battered. Udon and tempura were average. I can't comment on the actual sushi or rolls since we're still waiting... This was after pre ordering the family platter a day before. I don't think I can recommend this experience to anyone. UPDATE: After 1.5hr, we opted to get the platter to go. The family platter included California, dynamite, and spicy tuna. I added a spider roll thinking we wouldn't have enough food - regretted it after since it was overbattered, stiff in texture, and bizarrely included arugula inside. Spicy tuna roll was good, as well as salmon sashimi. The rest tasted no different than your typical ayce.

Sashimi appetiser - red tuna, albacore tuna, butterfish/escolar, and salmon.

I've had sushi plenty in Vancouver and Toronto, and this place was disappointing in comparison (even to Toronto sushi). I think AYCE sushi is more popular in Ottawa. This is one of the few places that do a la carte. I found the prices to be a bit expensive for what you get. 3 of us shared a sushi and sashimi party tray. It came to around $30 a person, and was quoted on the menu to be for about 3-4 people. I would say it's barely enough for 3 very small people, let alone 4. It did not come with miso soup or salad. The quality of the sushi was nothing to be amazed about. Although it was probably a bit better than AYCE, I think for the prices, I'd expect better quality sushi. If I had to, I'd choose AYCE sushi over this in Ottawa. Also, in terms of authenticity, I think this place is Chinese owned. It is a small establishment, so if you want to be sure you get a table, I'd recommend reservations. There is street parking available on Somerset. I likely won't be back, and will definitely try my hardest to persuade my friends to go elsewhere if they want to come back.

Their sushi is delicious, especially for takeout sushi. I decided to get a platter for dinner for my husband and I. I got their Maki Platter A, which is 36 pieces for $47.95. You get 8 pieces of California, 8 pieces of Spicy Salmon, 10 pieces of Dynamite and 10 pieces of Orange Dragon. UberEats was having a special where if you spend $40 or more you save $11. So I ordered through UberEats for pick up and saved $11 :) Note that with this deal you pay taxes on the regular price and then get $11 off the post-tax total. It took about 25 minutes and pick up was quick. Staff were nice. The rolls were delicious. I loved that the rolls were mostly filling with very little rice. I had requested no sesame seeds and that was no problem at all. The California rolls had cucumber and surimi crab and was topped with masago. The Spicy Salmon rolls had raw salmon mixed with spicy mayo and was topped with tempura bits. The Dynamite rolls had shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumbers, and surimi crab and was topped with masago. The Orange Dragon rolls were Dynamite rolls with the additional topping of sliced raw salmon and sliced avocado. While everything was tasty, I did feel that this platter could have used more variety. The Dynamite and Orange Dragon rolls were too similar. Nonetheless, my husband and I enjoyed the platter. I feel it's a good size for dinner for 2 people. Glad to have discovered this sushi takeout joint near my current work place. It's so convenient to pick up a platter for dinner. Street parking or paid parking in the various nearby lots only.

I had lunch at Yuzumi and it was delicious!…read more Yuzumi opened in August 2019 and took over the space that was The Bowl. It serves primarily poke/rice bowls, sandwiches, and sushi rolls. I had the Shrimp Po Boy Sandwich with a side salad ($13.95). I loved that the shrimp in the Po Boy was not breaded/deep fried, so it didn't taste greasy or oily at all. The amount of shrimp was good, as I had shrimp in each bite. The sauce had a slight spicy kick to it, and the cabbage slaw added a nice crunchy texture, and a bit of creaminess without being too rich. The bread was dense and it held the sandwich together well, the bread did not get soggy and the sandwich did not fall apart. I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich. The side salad was real mixed greens (hurray for no iceberg and no romaine!). It had shredded carrots, cucumbers and grape tomatoes. Vegetables were fresh, and the dressing arrived on the side as requested. The dressing was a sweet and sour vinaigrette, which I enjoyed, as it wasn't too oily. Service was friendly and the place was bright and clean. The layout is unchanged from when the space was The Bowl. It's a very casual eatery for a quick meal, by yourself or with coworkers or friends. Not exactly a romantic spot for a date, IMO. There's one gender-neutral washroom at the back of the restaurant. It was clean. A great place to grab lunch/early dinner (they close at 5pm) if you work at Tunney's Pasture, or live nearby. I'm looking forward to trying their other options! Street parking only.
