So the banh mi had cha lua (Vietnamese ham), BBQ pork slices and pâté for meat. For vegetables it had pickled daikon radish, pickled carrots, fresh cucumbers, and fresh cilantro. Service was friendly. There's a takeout area that is separate from the dine in area, with some regular chairs, a bench and 2 big comfy chairs to sit in while you wait for your takeout. It was during the Covid-19 Pandemic and staff were wearing masks. Be aware that due to the Pandemic their hours are different than listed online. It was a Saturday and they didn't open until 12:30pm. My husband and I got there at 12pm and were told they didn't open for another 30 minutes. We had to take a stroll around Chinatown and came back. My brother brought the Party Tray C (which was 64 pieces for $63). The price was great and the platter was aesthetically pleasing, but the rice was really bland. It tasted like plain rice. It could have used some seasoning and rice vinegar. The maki were well rolled though, they did not fall apart like at some places. I don't eat pickled ginger or wasabi, so I can't personally comment on these, but my brother and sister-in-law were not a fan of these items from there. I was very happy though, that they accomodated the request for no sesame seeds. The Party Tray C had 16 nigiri, 24 maki and 24 sashimi. The sashimi slices were nice and thick. You get 4 pieces each of shrimp, crab stick, white tuna, salmon, snapper and surf clam. The maki were 6 pieces each of California, Dynamite, spicy salmon and cucumber. The nigiri were 2 pieces each of shrimp, crab stick, white tuna, red tuna, salmon, snapper, squid and mackerel. Good variety. There was a good amount of cheese and the homemade sauce was tasty. The crust was crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the side. The undercarriage was nicely browned. Staff were pleasant and friendly. The restaurant has seats to dine in. They also have Indian-fusion pizza, which I'll have to try in the future. I'm so happy to have a new non-chain pizza joint in the neighbourhood. They are where We Desi used to be (I learned that it's the same owners, just new business model). The best broasted chicken I've ever had was at La Hoyo in Halifax which is now closed :( I'm still looking for chicken like that... The fries here are much better than at Zaki's in my opinion. The fries at Laziz are hand cut and lightly seasoned. The coleslaw here is also amazing. It's the creamy type which I usually don't like but I liked Laziz's coleslaw. The dressing is slightly sweet and they use purple and green cabbage, so it looks really colourful. There's a nice crunch to the coleslaw too. The older man who works here is very nice, but the younger guy was really indifferent towards us. The place is clean enough, as are the washrooms. There's sufficient seating and lots of free parking. It's in the same strip mall as the Mark's, Sushi Kan, and Eclipse Asian Cuisine.
