This recent trip to O-town we wanted some quick eats and this was our preferred option. This is the second time I've ordered from Ottawa sushi delivery. One thing I love about this place is that ordering online on their site is pretty damn easy. Second thing I love is that they have a huge selection. Third is if you are in the south end it is an easy pickup at their location. We went with the spicy combo + the crunchy combo and it was really really good. Like exceptionally good. The spicy rolls had some spicy mayo on the side that was zippy on the tongue. I loved it. Living in QC when you order a spicy it isn't spicy :( You do not need to worry about that here. The rolls were super fresh, texture of the salmon and tuna was amazing and the crunchy rolls were very tightly rolled to perfection. Everything was awesome thanks $32 taxes in for the platter. I had dinner here with my husband recently and overall we enjoyed it. The food itself warrants 3 stars in my opinion, but the ladies working there were so nice and accommodating, food presentation was great, and the place is cute, so that bumps it up to 4 stars overall. Do not be fooled by the restaurant's name, they are also a sit-down restaurant, not just a delivery and takeout place. When we walked in we were greeted right away and invited to sit anywhere we wanted. We were given menus and served hot tea as soon as we sat down. I got the Chicken Tempura Bento Box Combo B ($10.95) and my husband got the Tempura Rolls Combo ($15.95). It didn't say so on the menu, but both came with miso soup. The miso soup was nice and hot, and had tiny pieces of mushrooms and some wakame seaweed. It had a nice flavour and wasn't too salty. My Bento Box came with a chicken Katsu on a bed of rice, 2 dumplings, and it's supposed to come with seaweed salad and 4 pieces of Maki, but since I told our server that I can't eat sesame seeds, she said they would give me more Maki instead of the seaweed salad, since the salad is pre-mixed with sesame seeds. I ended up getting 6 Maki pieces. The chicken Katsu was hot and crispy, although a bit heavy on the breading and light on the meat. The rice was good, slightly sticky (in a good way). I got 3 California Maki and 3 spicy surimi crab Maki. The Maki were about the same quality as Maki at AYCE places, in my opinion. Definitely better than the prepackaged stuff at Loblaws, but not as good as at higher end sushi places, but for the prices here, the sushi was good. I would also say that the dumplings were also comparable to AYCE places in quality. My husband and I both thought that his combo consisted of Maki that contained tempura bits, we did not expect it to be Maki rolls covered in panko and then deep fried (!) Literally, the rolls were "tempura-ed" lol. I was not a huge fan of this (I guess I'm a purist at heart when it comes to Maki, haha), but my husband enjoyed his meal. The rolls were California, Salmon, and Spicy Surimi Crab. He got 16 pieces in total. I also requested water with my meal and the server offered to get me either water or iced green tea. I chose to stick with water, and she brought over a huge carafe of water that was in the fridge, so it was nice and cold :) Presentation was beautiful. Much nicer than I expected from a place that specializes in delivery and takeout. My Bento Box came in a gorgeous rectangular lacquer box and my husband's sushi came on a cool looking wooden stand. Service was friendly and courteous. The place has limited seats for eating in (seats 16), but there was only one other customer who ate there during the time that we were there. Everyone else was picking up orders they had placed. The restaurant is in a strip mall, so there's lots of free parking. I would come back if I was in the area and craving sushi. read more

Please note, they're VERY busy on the weekend, and it can take up to an hour for delivery. There's a reason for that. Ottawa Delivery Sushi offers amazing value and very flavourful sushi. The ordering process is quite simple... select your QTY and on checkout to enter ur form of payment... you can note "call to meet in lobby" The delivery is well packed and still hot. I have ordered tempura udon, salmon roll and unagi bento box. The tempura udon is packed noodles in 1... soup in another... tempura flakes and tempura; 1 shrimp and 4-5 veggie tempura... all delish! The unagi bento box comes with seaweed salad, 1 piece of California roll, 1 piece of spicy crab roll, 1 salmon sushi, 1 shrimp sushi and 2 gyoza Price is very fair and service is great. Decided to give this place a try based on the previous reviews here on Yelp. My boyfriend and I ordered online through the website for pick up. The website is easy to use and showed the menu clearly. The menu has good pictures of what you're ordering, prices, and descriptions of some of the rolls. Once you place your order for pick up the restaurant calls you to confirm and gives you an estimated pick up time. The woman I spoke to was very nice and told me my food would be ready in 30 minutes. When I arrived at the restaurant, my first impression was that it was relatively small but very welcoming and clean. The woman at the counter greeted me and told me my food was ready. It took exactly 30 minutes! Which was great. The other employees were very nice as well. We ended up ordering, spicy white tuna rolls, spicy salmon rolls, crispy chicken rolls, spicy crab rolls, red dragon rolls and gyoza. Everything tasted fresh and was prepared perfectly. There was a good rice to fish ratio (some places put way too much rice). The rice was prepared well and tasted good. The spicy salmon and spicy white tuna rolls were good. They provided a small container of the spicy sauce for the salmon and tuna rolls on the side. I am glad they did this! I have had other sushi take out before that puts the sauce on for you and I find it makes the rolls mushy by the time you eat them. So with the sauce on the side this does not happen. The crispy chicken rolls were great! I know these are not technically sushi, but I love them! The chicken was lightly battered and the rolls were packed perfectly. I added some spicy siracha mayo to these too. So yummy! The spicy crab rolls were really good! I added extra spicy sauce as well. The red dragon rolls are one of my favorites, they are a California roll topped with fresh salmon. These, just like the previous rolls, were rolled perfectly, did not fall apart, and tasted delicious. The salmon was fresh and tasted great with only a little bit of soya sauce. When we moved to Ottawa last year, we were pretty disappointed in Ottawa's sushi scene. We have been desperately trying to find good sushi in Ottawa for a few months. We figured out that some places make fair sushi rolls, but it was hard to find traditional nigiri-zushi that tastes decent and not overpriced in Ottawa. But now we are relieved to find that Ottawa has at least one decent sushi place. When you have a choice, usually it is your best bet to go to a Japanese-owned restaurant to have the best sushi. Koreans make the second-best sushi, and Chineses are the worst. (We are big lovers of Chinese food but must admit that they are not very good at dealing with raw fish; it is just not in their tradition.) As far as we know, the only Japanese-owned sushi restaurant in Ottawa is C'est Japon a Suisha which is an exception to this rule of thumb; the quality of their fish is inconsistent and they are severely overpriced. Despite its humble name, Ottawa Delivery Sushi is a much better deal than the more expensive options in Ottawa. The small and cute restaurant is run by a Korean family. Their fish is always fresh and they know how to cook rice, at least reasonably well(many of the sushi restaurants in North America don't). The portion is generous and the price is reasonable. We have always dined in; don't be deceived by its name, this place is experienced better when you dine in. The ambiance is cozy and warm. They care about the dinnerwares they use and the decoration of the restaurant; it is enjoyable to see the cute details of the decor while waiting for the food. They always give free tea. The owner and staffs are nice and friendly, sometimes chat with the customers. When we dined in last time, we were the only customers in the restaurant and they gave us free salad and sashimi. My only wish is they would have more varieties of the ingredients - they don't have sea urchin and sweet shrimp. But they do their best with what they have. read more

The tempura is miles better than any other I've had in my life. The dynamite roll is to die for. A small place with which I believe to be a family run restaurant. Always the same talented people I see working behind the counter. Free Stuff: You sit down and you get complimentary tea (hot or cold) and miso soup. They often give me free samples as I eat of a dessert sushi (so if you like that you can ask what it's called and order it next time). As always they give you ginger and wasabi like any sushi shop. Unable to find sushi within walking distance (despite living in Chinatown) and plagued with a sushi craving that just wouldn't die, I decided to give this place a try. The good: The sushi is really good! I can tell it's made to order because there was one roll that was half of one type of roll, and half the other type of roll. If that makes sense. The sushi is soft and melty and the rice is seasoned and warm but perfectly sticky. They even give you a little condiment cup of that spicy mayo (if you get the spicy roll combo, anyway) and that stuff is amazing. The price is very fair. I paid about $25 total for a 16-roll combo and two 4-roll choices. It was more than enough food for one person. The website is easy to use, lots of pictures and most items have a description, and the service is good and friendly. The bad: The sushi wasn't perfect. There were a couple of pieces of tuna that had really chewy gristly bits, and a couple pieces were just slightly fishy-smelling. The biggest con was how slow it was. It took an hour and ten minutes, for a 24-roll order at 8pm on a Wednesday. 70 minutes is ridiculous for food that doesn't even need to be cooked. Overall though, I definitely recommend this place if you want good sushi at a fair price delivered to your door. Just, you know, plan ahead, rather than wait until you're dying of sushi-starvation before ordering. read more

Have had their delivery several times and the sushi here is consistently good and good quality. Dined in today for the first time, in addition to their good sushi I enjoyed the clean restaurant, random classical music playing and kikoman soy sauce (which I am surprised at how few restaurants use kikoman in Ottawa compared to Toronto). This isn't high end sushi and you aren't going to have high end variety or the option of omakase, but having tried a bunch of places around Ottawa this place is the best so far, again because of their consistency and for the good quality of sushi they do make. read more

Visiting from Yellowknife and had a craving for sushi and was too lazy to go out to eat. I ordered a sushi combo as well as some tempura and seaweed salad. Over the phone they were polite. The time to delivery was reasonable. The delivery man was very polite and professional. The food was great, especially the sushi, nothing was sub-par at all. The fish was all very fresh and the sushi well prepared. The rice was made we very well with the right texture and flavour. The tempura was not perfect but it is nearly impossible to get tempura fresh when getting takeout or delivery (take that as a tip in general when ordering tempura for takeout or delivery) it loses its crispness very quickly. Still though it was very good. The seaweed salad was excellent. I wish they provided a better description of their menu items though as I was not aware that my sushi combo already contained a serving of seaweed salad. It also came with miso soup. I'm not one to write negative reviews but for a restaurant that has "delivery" in its' name, they should really improve their delivery. Pros: great website and easy to navigate. Polite on the phone and polite/ apologetic driver. Cons: It took 2 hours from the time I ordered it until delivery!! I ordered delivery, funny enough, to save time having to drive over there and pick it up with two young children. I called twice to check up on the order and each time they said it would be there in 10 mins... I'd prefer them telling me it would take longer so I'd make other arrangements. By the time it arrived, the tempura veg were soggy but the sushi was decent. They need better delivery times/ add on a driver or be honest about wait times. The sushi prep here is always fast, fresh and delicious! I order from here all the time when I want sushi, bit don't want to leave my house. They are very good at accommodating allergies and substituting their platters. So, I ordered from here as I was CRAVING sushi but was way too busy with work to get out to a sit down restaurant (my personal favourite is TEN on bank for AYCE) and I was QUICKLY disappointed. I ordered all my usual favourite, salmon sashimi, Spicy crispy salmon maki and some shrimp tempura cause who doesnt love tempura! The website was fairly easy to use though it was lacking in some description and such...My delivery took over an hour after the call (I live 10 mins from the location...really?), and that was upsetting but I was around all day so I went through with it anyway and I desperately wish I hadn't. My order came to 50 some dollars which is steep for such sub-par sushi. When i opened the package they had given me a STRANGE number of sashimi pieces; I ordered 5(2pcs each) and was given 23pieces.....? at first I thought YAY bonus!! until I discovered THERE WERE BONES IN EVERY PIECE!!!!!!! If it takes over an hour to be delivered I figure you all must have had the time to remove the pin bones??? It was disgusting and everything had a very STRONG fishy aroma which is not something i've experienced in any sushi as I usually find it surprisingly mild in taste and smell. Also it came with seaweed salad which made me glad I didn't order any at a cost of 5$, if this is a complimentary addition that should be made known. The tempura was breaded oddly...more like a batter on a chicken nugget than a typical panko tempura batter which made it look like those breaded shrimp you can purchase frozen at the grocery store..questionable! The Roll was decent I will say, the spicy sauce was on the side so the crisp didn't get soggy which is very smart but had I known the sauce was on the side i would not have purchased an additional spicy mayo. I think they need to better organize their website so people know how the things they order will appear. Also perhaps adding sashimi platters that are not mixed (ie 10 pieces at a bulk purchase price) or platters you can customize would be beneficial. There is an existing sashimi platter that has an array of types which is great for some people but it also says subject to change...if I ordered it and was expecting something in particular and it arrived lacking things I would be VERY unhappy.
