I have been trying to talk my husband into going with me for two years. We finally had a weekday off and I talked him into going for Happy Hour with me. I did lots of research, went to the website, looked on Facebook and reviewed the Yelp reviews, pictures and menus. We walked i. The door only to see a sign that said no Happy Hour today. I am fine if you are short handed, I would have been ok with it had we known. You have social media pages, please use them to notify customers of changes. I can be very understanding that this is a holiday, or you are short handed. Just be honest and let people know on your social media pages. We went there on Sunday around 4pm and it wasn't crowded. The place is clean and the decor was inviting. We grabbed different dishes off the revolving sushi bar and most of the dishes seemed like they were made the day before and wasn't fresh. The rice for the sushi was hard and stale. The dim sum har go was horrible and we told the waiter and she subtracted it from our bill. I know we went during slow business hours but if they can't provide fresh sushi then I would tell them to make less dishes so it's fresher. Some of the sushi was in open air without a shield protector. I did order the tempura udon and that was delicious. Overall I probably would not come back due to the lack of quality of the food but the staff was friendly. We spent $60 for low quality sushi and a udon bowl, pricey. I think happy hour is the best deal for $2 a plate. read more

Conveyor belt sushi! I've seen pictures but never gotten to see one in person. We came in for lunch and were not disappointed. It was fun and delicious. So I decided to come here for happy hour... Expecting Maybe for there to be mostly the $2 plates of food... But much to my surprise, they had a huge variety of selections... The $4 plates $3 plates $2 plates... everything was available... all for $2/each...I love this place... This is my third time this week... Food is very great but one thing I highly disagree with is that during HH we are not allowed to order off of the tablet under the "on the belt" tab even though the same things are on the belt. Also, it would be nice to have a description placed before each roll to let us know what the roll consists of. read more

Ordered here tonight through doordash and it was a horrible experience that WASN'T DOORDASH'S FAULT FOR ONCE. I normally order from this restaurants location Downtown at I10 and Wirt and it is always fast and great. I've ordered pick up from here twice and had to wait extremely long to receive my order, so with a newborn at home I didn't want to wait up there for god know how long. Long story short waited over 2 hours and had 2 dashers release my order because they had waited too long. Staff your restaurant and get another sushi chef or 2. The guy you have can't keep up even on a slow night. Do your staff and your customers the service of a quality experience and work environment. BTW I HATE YELP, I've been a restaurant manager for almost 10 years, but tonight was just too bad not to post. Hope management here reads this and fixes staffing issues. read more

$10 for 2 small bun and fries??? I thought the portions would be larger... I have had 3 bun of this size for $6. The pork was also very chewy. We were in town and looking for something new so we decided to give it a try! I've never been to a revolving sushi bar before, but I absolutely love it! The plates are color coded according to price. There's a lot of variety and everything was tasty. We spent a little more than we normally would at a sit down sushi restaurant, but I feel we got our money's worth for the experience. I would definitely go back, the sushi we had was great! I usually judge sushi based on salmon and their salmon nigri was absolutely delicious. I took off a star because, though our server was great, overall service was not the best. Food from the kitchen took a while, and I wish they included a label of what food is on the conveyor belt. Also, even though the restaurant was busy and full, the diversity of food on the conveyor belt was low. You know when you have a craving for something and you go to a place that serves that type of food, and you eat and walk out dissatisfied and still hungry? This is that type of place. Walking out after spending $40 two separate times, should not leave me with that feeling. Also, the waitresses lack any type of social skills and service. You basically have to wave them down to come over and attend to you. Their little machine at each table never works, so you have to wave them down, if you want to order from their hot foods menu or pay. I gave this place a try 3 separate times. Once during happy hour sushi hour on a weekday. The $2 Sushi happy hour is only M-TH 2:30-5 p.m. in the Katy location. The happy hour sushi at $2 for all plates seemed fair and tasted close to what you would get at your local grocery store sushi stall. The sushi tasted better the first time I went during happy hour than the most recent visits. Maybe the fish was more fresh that time, who knows? I gave the place one try during lunch hour and one today, thinking they would have happy hour rolls, but I was told it's only M-TH. In summary, their sushi lacks freshness, menu originality and ANY discernible fish flavor or even flavor to their rice. The rolls lacked flavor no matter how much "dressing" they put on top of the roll. The regular business hour conveyor belt sushi menu was the same as the "$2 happy hour rolls," which to me doesn't seem worth it. The 4 small pieces you get is $5.50 a plate and quickly adds up as that is the majority of what they put out and look the most appetizing. But looks are deceiving when it comes to food! They don't seem to change their conveyor belt sushi menu as I've gone 3 times and they put out the same rolls. So, if you go there once, there's really no reason to go back again or at all IMO. There are 4 different prices per colored plate, yellow, pink, red, light blue and black, which starts from $2 for yellow and ends at $5.50 for black plates. The icing on the cake was the sad Kids menu, I ordered shrimp tempura and fries plate for $6. What I got was a bunch of generic frozen fries and two small sad looking fried shrimp. I felt like I paid $6 for fries. Save your money and pick up some sushi at HEB instead! At least you can taste the fish and rice in their rolls there! Or go to a reputable sushi spot. 5 stars because I previously had an experience at a different revolving sushi restaurant (NOT THIS ONE) that was absolutely disgusting. This place was the exact opposite of that previous experience. We went around 4pm on a Sunday. It wasn't too busy but picked up quite a bit as we were there. The first thing I noticed was how clean and modern everything looked. Our server was Amy and she was so attentive we really didn't have to ask for anything she was just magically there with everything we needed before we even thought of it. All the sushi on the belt looked very fresh, clean, well presented & Tasted amazing. I love places like these that give you the opportunity to try new sushi pieces without having to purchase a whole roll and that's exactly what we did. Found out I actually like octopus! Once more people filled the restaurant they put out more of a variety on the belt which is to be expected so the best time to go would be peak times. Regardless, if you don't see what you want in the belt you can order off the kiosk at the table as well as several other dishes not provided on the belt. Ordered the hibachi chicken Togo for the boo and the portion size was pretty big for the price and according to him was very good as well. Glad I decided to give the revolving sushi bar another chance with this place because they have restored my faith! I'll have to get a few pictures next time. We were so busy enjoying ourself we actually forgot to snap any. Anyways, all in all, money well spent. read more

If you want only rolls this place is fine for you, if you want sushi and sashimi I would choose another place. The happy hour prices are good and they give you a lot for your money. It was my kids birthday and he insisted on conveyor belt sushi - I was luke warm - I have been to mid town Kura twice and every time think I would rather have spent my money at kata Robata - but the kids like it - so for his bday - I wanted to try this new Sushi Sakura that I had been hearing great reviews on my local FB Houston Foodie page - I was so surprised - the quality was really good - I liked the fact that we could custom order any roll we wanted -if I thought something was on the belt a bit to long - I just ordered my own and out came it fresh right to my table but saying that I did notice the roll turn over was great - the selection was so much better than Kura - and the sushi was still cold and not sweaty. Okay, full disclosure not as great as Kata Robata made to order - but also a factions as expensive - for what we paid I thought the quality and the service was great. the interiors were incredible - great design and very clean. also we told them it was my son's bday and the comp'd us a slice of cheesecake - it was soooo tasty. not to sweet, slight cinnamon flavor in the crust - it was really really good. read more
