This was my second visit to Sushi One after moving nearby. The food is excellent, I found their sashimi portions very generous compared to other sushi restaurants I've visited in the NoCo area. If anything their rolls are a bit oversized-I myself find trying to eat roll slices in two or more bites a bit challenging. The service was decent; I would like to offer a few bits of constructive advice: My bottle of beer arrived without a glass. Had to ask for one. Offer customers a glass when the bottled beer is delivered. A visit to the table to check on customers is also an opportunity to take away empty bottles, straw wrappers, etc. More than two visits to the table in 10 minutes to ask how things are going can make some customers feel a little 'rushed'. You have a dessert menu. I was not asked whether I was interested in dessert, either there or to go. That was a missed opportunity. The tip jar for the sushi chefs could be placed in a more prominent area. They deserve to be tipped. I will be back, and hope to become a 'regular'. read more

My wife and I went to sushi one a couple weeks ago with her family, after just moving to northern Colorado let me just say the sushi was actually really great! The service was very quick and attentive although we were the first ones in the door too so it wasn't busy yet. I like the decorations and we sat inside however they do have a nice looking patio. We don't live in Greeley but about 40 minutes away in Firestone and will still be back to sushi one very soon. read more

What a pleasant surprise to find such a good sushi place in a small town like Greeley! We loved sitting under the cherry blossom tree! The entire place feels more like it had come from Los Angeles than Tokyo, from the servers to the menu (with fusioned offerings) but that's alright, they know how to make a good sauce, and that's all that matters! The Crab Blossom (Crabmeat, soft shell crab, green onion, lobster sauce, chili powder and masago wrapped in avocado - $11.99) is the bomb, flavor bomb (spicy), that is. And it's shaped like one too! The Holy Cow Roll (8pcs - In: Shrimp Tempura, Spicy Crabmeat, Chopped Soft Shell Crab and Cucumber / Out: Seared Beef, Spicy Crabmeat, Fried Onion, Chopped Soft Shell Crab and Spicy Ponzu Sauce - $16.99), also spicy, is holy cow good! Our server was very sweet. But uneducated in Gluten. When I sat down I explained to her that I was Gluten Intolerant, okay with cross contamination and that my husband did not have any allergies. I asked if there is anything else in the menu that would be acceptable except for the two section marked Gluten Free. She said no that, that was it. We decided to order edamame. She asked spicy or regular. Thinking she must know that the spicy are acceptable we said sure we'll try spicy. Order a roll off the section marked gluten free that said inside was spicy tuna with cucumber, outside gluten free ponzu and siracha. When the edamame arrived it didn't appear gluten free so I asked her are you sure this is Gluten Free, she left and came back and said no it is not. I'm sure she saw the disappointment on my face. She then later came back and said would you like some miso it is gluten free. I said if it indeed gluten free yes. When our roll arrived inside was tuna (not spicy tuna) and cucumber, outside was tuna with siracha on it. I asked for a side of spicy mayo and gluten free soy sauce. She came back and said our spicy may is not gluten free she said they mix in Soy Sauce. Very disappointed as the roll clearly stated under gluten free inside spicy tuna. Noticing there is not any gluten free ponzu sauce on the roll, I asked for a side of the Gluten Free ponzu sauce. She then brought it. aside from hot green tea that is all I ate. I was definitely glutened. Not 100% sure what but thinking it was the miso. Overall very disappointed. Wow.. Just wow. First off, I've never liked Sushi, so this was a major reach to try something new outside of my comfort zone. Let me say: I AM SO GLAD I DID. This literally changed my view on Sushi altogether. My fiance & I ordered the 3 roll lunch combo; which we chose the Tempura California roll, teriyaki chicken roll & tempura pumpkin roll. And the Sweet Side roll. All were absolutely mind blowing perfect. To elaborate on the sweet roll.... Let's start with the ingredients in it: asparagus, cucumber, salmon, & cream cheese wrapped in avocado, honey & cashew nuts!!! Yes, it's as amazing as it sounds. Its also GLUTEN FREE!!! 4 rolls between us & we wolfed them down. I still happily have that ginger sauce after-taste in my pallet. I haven't been this impressed with a new restaurant in a WHILE. We moved to Greeley a few years ago but hadn't tried Sushi One before. Back then I thought it was just sushi. Today I found the menu and there were plenty other things on the menu that we have been hungry for. I ordered the Bento box mid-day special. It was so good. The beef teriyaki was very good and not overly sweet. The salad was very crisp lettuce with a light dressing, also included were two broccoli tempura, two gyoza, four California rolls with ample ginger and wasabi and lastly a generous serving of rice. I took half with me for another whole meal. My husband had the chicken yaki soba. Very large servings with quality ingredients. Sorry we waited so long to try this great restaurant. I have came here for years and it's one of my favorite restaurants in Greeley. I always get the Bento box with Nigiri sushi as it gives you a bit of everything. the raw fish is always fresh and never tastes like it's old. Tempura and fried gyoza are always crispy and not soggy which I appreciate! Service is always top notch and sushi chefs are always kind and so hard working! I love that we get miso soups to start off with the meal as it's a great appetizer to the main course. I recommend to anyone who loves Japanese food. I know rolls can be a bit pricy but with with the bento box you get sushi, tempura, gyoza, rice, and an entrée of your choosing. read more

We ordered the bento boxes, seaweed salad, tempura, and the eel roll. The seafood is high quality and tastes like it was caught the same day. The restaurant is small, but don't let that fool you because it is top notch. The restaurant was very clean and I love that there is indoor and outdoor seating. Not very many sushi options in greeley, but I have visited sushi one a few times. Sadly today the service was so subpar it ended in me getting no food and spending my entire lunch hour waiting. I was sat immediately upon entering the restaurant and even ordered within 5 mins of getting sat so it appeared I would have plenty of time to eat. The restaurant was not overly busy, sadly I wasn't checked on after placing my initial order until about 45 mins had past and I had to get the waitress' attention to see what was going on after about 5 mins more she returned to inform me the ticket never went through and the sushi chef said it would be another 20 mins. The biggest issues I had was, the fact the restaurant was not busy they had 3 chefs, at the sushi bar, 2-3 servers on staff, I mean if my server would've followed up even once throughout that time she could've seen my ticket hadn't gone through but of course she waited until I had and issue and had to ask. Lastly as the sushi chef if the order was lost or never entered then it would seem like common sense to try to put a rush on it to get it done not tell me to wait another 20mins. At that point I told the waitress to just cancel the order. I'm not sure who dropped the ball it was very disappointing especially since I just had to go back to work even more hungry and my time wasted. Came to Sushi One in search of some decent sushi in the Greeley area. I decided to get the sushi to-go because I wanted to eat at home. I saw this place in my search results but didn't see many reviews. I came here on a Friday evening and saw that it was very busy. I heard a customer ask why they aren't answering their phones and heard that the restaurant is not answering because they are too busy. I told the staff that they should answer the phones to inform guests that they are not taking orders or reservations, but let people know what time they are open to and answer questions about the food. Then, another customer comes in and asks why they aren't answering the phone. Saw that they have a gluten-free menu and gluten free soy sauce, which definitely is great to see in modern sushi restaurants. I ordered the salmon-avocado roll, the spicy yellowtail roll, and the spicy tuna roll. (See my attached pictures) There was a decent amount of seats in the inside, and some seats outside too. I got home and tried the sushi and liked it, because it tasted good, but was a little disappointed with the quality, which I will explain why below. They rolled the wasabi and the ginger together in a piece of Saran-wrap. The prices were priced well. They would hurt their business if they decided to raise the prices any more. I liked this place, and suggest you come by, although the quality was slightly below average, I believe that this place has great potential. Here are my critiques: Answer your phones. You are losing out on business by not answering your phones. If you don't want to take orders, at least have someone answering the phone to invite customers to come down. Communication with your customers is key. Use fresh fish if possible, not frozen. Do not put grinded mushed meat in your sushi. It becomes very sloppy when your tuna is like a glob. Bigger blocks of meat is better. Do not slice your sushi too thin, it makes the sushi flimsy and annoying for customers to grab. Work in the style and presentation on the plates. People like to see, and remember, when their dishes look good. Do not roll your wasabi and ginger together for to-go plates. Put them in separate snap-containers. It looks better. Make sure to expand your gluten-free menu. Add a few more sushi rolls, lower priced, to your gluten-free menu. Good job for having gluten free option. People these days need more restaurants that offer good gluten free options. Keep your prices low as possible, and offer good deals. Doing this will keep customers running to you. If you take most of these suggestions into consideration, and make the changes, I bet you'll notice even more business at your sushi restaurant. See my attached pictures read more
