Went here last night and ordered a small Caesar Salad and the lettuce was so full of rust I couldn't eat it. The pizza is always good even though ( I have said it a million times) the crust needs some salt or something. Now the bad. 1 waitress for all of the tables, took over an hour to get served lunch, not the waitresses fault as she was doing the best she could, ownership or management to blame for understaffed. We were incredibly disappointed tonight. Roma's (now "Roma West") was my favorite restaurant in Greeley. I was a student from '92-'94, and stayed in town until '99. We are visiting CO, staying in Denver, and researched the restaurant's open time on-line. Both the website and a Google search confirmed they were open until 9:00 pm. We drove from Denver, perusing the online menu options. Sadly, we were turned away at 8:15 pm, informed that the kitchen closed at 8:00 pm. I wanted to get t-shirts for my kids, tell them stories about my favorite spot... and now we won't return. Please encourage your staff to improve their customer service and update the website. I've told my sister that Roma's on 8th ave in Greeley was great. We chose Tueday afternoon to treat ourselves. The restaurant ambiance, employees and overall was an awesome choice. The only problem was the sauce for the pasta was really spicy hot. The waiter said red pepper flakes were added in and we weren't the first to complain. My suggestion is, make the sauce without the red pepper flakes (there's a shaker on the table with that) If someone wants it spicy they can add as much as they want to taste. When I called in my take-out order I told her I had a 40% off coupon. If Roma doesn't accept anything over 25% as of January 1, she could have said so. At the restaurant she took the coupon but didn't honor it. The bad news is I feel really ripped off. The good news is, as of May 7, I don't need to patronize Roma again. We LOVED when Pizza Roma was near our home in Thornton and ate there often. Likewise, we were bummed when it closed. We found out there is one in Greeley so called and did a to-go order. Let me tell you. We ordered 17 CAROLIS (calzones) and not only was the ordering super easy over the phone (took less than 5 minutes and the read back was perfect), our order was ready right on time, the hostess read it back to me again and counted them out in front of us. This is the second location of Roma, but the only one I have visited. From what I have heard, this is more family friendly and the campus location is more geared to younger party oriented crowd. It was extremely busy when we arrived and there was little to no waiting area. My butt was practically in someone's food at a table next to the entrance as we waited for a table. Crowds poured in with little to no direction as to the correct waiting process. Eventually, some college came around with a notepad and saw that we had been waiting a while and took our names. In all, we waited 40 minutes to be seated. This was not a good experience to start off. My girlfriend and I ordered two different 'caroli's which are essentially calzones. I am not sure why they dont just call them calzones. She ordered the 'white' and I ordered the BBQ chicken. The white was a little bland and could have used a protein like pepperoni or even chicken to give it some substance. The BBQ chicken did not have enough bbq sauce for my taste, but was overall good. We had a coupon so the value of the meal was good. Both of our entrees were half off (only 4.50-5 apiece), which meant we could afford to order a drink as well. We got a Bazooka Margarita which is basically a giant size version of the classic. It was very very good for the price (5 dollars). If I was going to eat here again, I would not sit down. It seems the takeout runs more efficiently and effectively. The food, however, was solid enough for me to give it another go. read more

Roma is pretty good. They have specials during the week that really increase the value. Personally, the pizza isn't my style but I could see some liking it. The spaghetti is decent, but nothing to write home about. The best items they offer are the Carolis. Some might know them as calzones. They have a variety of options and they are a good size. The best is the Mamma Mia. Come on 1/2 off day (Thursday) and it's $5. Overall, I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5 for value. read more

So this just happened.... I am fairly regular at Roma's west. 1-2 monthly. I usually order 2-3 pizzas and/or carolis to go. When I go there, I always have my 40% off coupon but tonight, I left it on the table before heading over to pick up my pizzas. Upon arrival, I immediately told the hostess that I had forgotten my coupon. Her initial response was "I'm sorry, I have to remove the discount from your order". Nothing to help me, nothing to make it a good service experience. She offered up the manager... I spoke with her manager and got the same, flat, "I can't do it" look and answer. Then she pointed out the sign on the door which stated what I already saw... it does state that printed coupons must be presented to receive the discount. So here's my issue and the reason why I'm writing a 1-star review today. The staff blamed the owners for their lack of action knowing this is a long standing issue. The manager claimed that the owners have been working on a way to track the discounts without the use of paper but have not figured out how to do it. Well, if a discount is issued on the tablet for 40% which is their coupon discount, why can't they use that data to track it. Why is it such a hardline to have the little printed paper? If having that piece of paper is more important than customer service, then maybe people need to know what to expect when they go to this location. The truth of the matter is, Roma's West has the best pizza in Greeley, but the customer service absolutely leaves much to be desired. I am so disappointed in this place. I love their food but their customer service has ruined this place for me. They have no understanding of how to treat their customers. Hour plus waits for large groups (8+) with one table designated for those groups. They don't pull other tables together. My suggestion would be to allow reservations for parties of 8 or more. And when you quote a 45 minute wait and you can finally seat the party after an hour fifteen, you comp the party in some way. And to Mr. Allison, bad reviews will tarnish the restaurant's reputation and your "mightier than thou" attitude will come back to bite you. read more
