We always love to try things that are unique. We found this sushi place that your food for the most part is sent out on a conveyor belt. You do have the option of ordering, regular or special roles that they will bring to the table separately, however , most things come around on the conveyor belt covered in a cloche. It was later in the evening, so we had most of the restaurant to ourselves. So for us, we ended up having to ask them to make up certain things like you read seaweed salad to put on a conveyor belt for us. We totally understood this because being that it was late and there weren't very many customers. We understand that they wouldn't want to over prep food that may not be used and go to waste. Thankfully, they were extremely pleasant about creating anything that we asked for it is generally sent out on the belt. It's always fun to try something new and even better when the food is good.

This was my first time at SO. The place is quaint and welcoming. The staff were nice and accommodating. The food was fresh and tasty overall. Our table didn't accidentally receive a delivered food order that was intended for another table and we still were charged for it... I wasn't impressed by that. Parking is available on the street and there's no lot. I like that pricing is transparent and mostly easy to decipher based on the plate color. The fish tank is a nice perk and the rotating belt of sushi was constant entertainment! It was fairly easy to grab what was available on the belt or order off the menu... definitely check it out if you need sushi in NE!

It's great for quick dinner, the price is very reasonable, but not great quality. Service was quick and great as well. Sashimi was not great, sushi rolls were very average. Miso soup was very salty. Jean salad was good. Mo hi desert was average as well.

The menu was pretty good, and the conveyer belt selections met most of my hankerings for some sushi in Portland after not having been here for almost a year and a half. Salmon slices were superbly generous on the rice and salmon nigiri pieces on the conveyer belt. I enjoyed a cup of miso soup as well between the selections off the conveyer belt and the pieces I ordered off the menu. I checked out and paid very quickly, but the wait was over ten minutes for a dining party of just myself. Looking forward to coming back here again. The color coding of the plates' pricing was really clear and visible with the prices and plate colors displayed on the wall.

Quick place to grab some sushi and other dishes. The host is friendly and will sit you down quick. You can choose items from the conveyor belt or order some special items. I ordered the chicken hibachi and my friends picked some items out from the belt.

Not bad for lunchtime sushi conveyer belt place. 4 tiers of pricing (by color of plate), $2.55 - $4.95. Solid for quick and easy. Crisp Sapporo beer makes a nice complement! We had seaweed salad, Inaru, octopus, unagi, fried shrimp.

Gave this sushi track place a try before a hockey game as i knew it would be quick and our son requested sushi. Happily, it was as good as the other reviews state, and we enjoyed our dinner and were pleased to add another track sushi place to our roster. Happy hour is the way to go if you have a big appetite or hungry teen. Plates were $2.20 which is a nice savings off the $3.50 black plates, which had the best rolls. We thought the salmon was fresh and tasty. Rolls were good-sized and the chefs kept the track full. They'll make you anything you don't see on the track; I had them make me a tuna poke plate and it was great! Street parking or there's a pay lot next door. We'll be back! Great to have another pre-game option not too far from Moda.

    Waiting patiently for a roll

The sushi is exceptional across the board, but I came here specifically for their Hwe Dup Bop, and wow--it did not disappoint. The dish is incredibly refreshing, packed with fresh sashimi and crisp veggies, perfectly nutty from the sesame oil, and balanced with that addictive sweet-spicy kick from the chojang sauce. Hands down one of the best Hwe Dup Bop I've ever had. Think bibimbap but a sushi version. I haven't seen any other restaurant in the Portland metro area serving this dish anymore. Truly a hidden gem. The result meant that each roll or piece of nigiri basically crumbled from the moment you handled it. I had hoped I caught them on a bad day, but looking at a few reviews, the lack of rice quality seems to be a recurrent problem. The fish itself was fine, which helped make up for the rice a tiny bit, but from an overall package, it felt like it was only a few steps ahead of grocery store sushi, which is a shame because it costs $20+ a roll. Unfortunately, won't be coming back.

Until. Fat Kitty Ramen revived the best ramen menu I've had in the world and brought back the Vegetable Curry Ramen I knew and loved! I am so happy they decided to stick a well-known menu because it was such a hit, they just had some behind-the-curtain issues. I will say that the ramen didn't have as much flavor as I remember it having, but I'm sure it's hard for them to do an exact match. I'm sure they can tweak it over time. It's also a bit nicer because it's not as spicy and my fiance that hates spice can now enjoy it. This was my first time trying the tots and how fun! I got the fish flakes on the side because I wasn't sure how well they would work, but I ended up dipping into them and really enjoyed it. I don't know if I could've handled the fill bowl on top but it was a fun twist to tater tots. We got there as soon as they opened and people started trickling in, it was a nice low-lit ambience and an open-kitchen concept. Now I look forward to visiting Portland just to have Fat Kitty again.
