Roll Combo B + B Caterpillar Roll Spyder Roll

I do not know how long I have missed out on this. Their portions are large and their combos of 2 whole rolls are great. They have a monthly special which was very flavorful. I think the spyder roll and the Chuck Norris were my favorite. I'll be sure to come back in. They also have an outdoor open bar if you're into that.

Nice sushi spot if you're in the area. The rolls and miso soup were tasty and they offer soy paper as an alternative if you prefer it. They have a cute outdoor patio and bar area. Our server was very nice and attentive. The only miss here was the garlic edamame... which for some reason had cinnamon on it? I'm all for being adventurous and unique but maybe noting such a strong and peculiar flavor on the menu would be a better choice. Other than that we had a great meal :)

New favorite sushi spot! Beautiful little outdoor sushi bar, delicious rolls, and very attentive staff. Delish, will be back ASAP

Not impressed. The best part about coming here was finding a parking spot right in front and visiting with my friend from out of town. Unfortunately everything else was a disappointment. We came here at 1215pm on a Thursday. The place was empty. We were sat fairly quickly however it took our server a good 10 minutes to greet us and get us a drink. Another 10 minutes to order and over 30 to deliver our two rolls! We finally asked him why another table who walked in after us were severed first (the only other table in the restaurant) and he said... oh, there was a big TO GO order that was ahead of you. ????? We both ordered the protein roll. My friend requested sauce on the side and he had to be reminded again since they were not brought with the rolls. I love me a good protein roll but I was very disappointed with it. It tasted more like a n imitation crab roll with whatever fish on top. I also had to ask for a refill. I would not recommend this place. The place also had a strange odor. Like wet dog. There was also what sounded like a pinball machine chime ringing con. I think it was their phone.

I went for lunch. They have a special and it's quite incredible. I got 2 rolls and it came with miso soup. Delicious! I got caterpillar roll and spicy tuna roll. Our waitress was great, didn't wait too long for our rolls. She checked on us when needed. Overall great. The place is clean, they have a nice outdoor patio with bar seating. I will come again.

Food for lunch was delightful. Service at the sushi bar was exceptional. The chef was professional, personal and thorough. Highly recommend this location. The seating is open and bar seats are the best! Highly recommend!!

Got off a work trip late and wanted to find something that was in the area of my hotel. It was easy to find right off the corner. Upon arriving not very many people but nice crowd. Menus were very sticky... please clean your menus. Good variety of rolls to choose from. I like how you can scan the menu and see actual pictures of what you want to order. It does take a while for you to get food but this my favorite can't The spider hand roll was pretty tasty. It had a a lot of avocado but still good. The house salad could've used more of the ginger dressing. That miso soup was the star of the show. So good and flavor. So hot and everything. I would come back just for this. The rolls were great. They had a good variety to choose from. No shade they were slow. We didn't a refill until we were about it to leave. But over good experience here I will back.

4 stars for value and taste of food! Great local spot in PL. They have a beautiful patio and outside bar, plus indoor tables for seating. Food specials everyday, including weekends!! What is not to love?! Sushi, specials, weekend?! Service was mediocre. But everything else makes up for it. Also!! There is a delicious ice cream place next door. Nice treat after sushi. Yummm.

Sushi Lounge fell a bit short for our group. Everything we ordered was just OK. Nothing really stood out and everything seemed to be swimming in sauce. (Including the sushi rolls...) The waitstaff was a bit on the aloof side and it took quite a while for our food to come to the table. It wasn't necessarily a bad experience, but I wouldn't hurry back anytime soon.

My cousin and I went here not long ago and I was shocked by how much I loved everything! My cousin is gluten free and they had so many amazing options which is rare at many Asian establishments! The crispy rice 10/10. Double crunch roll was delicious. Service was fast and definitely friendly. It appeared there were many regulars there! Would come back to this location for sure! Can't wait to try the one in Encinitas.

We must have gotten in at a great time Friday right at 5pm... the place was packed but there was one table available and we were the only ones in line but as soon as we sat down, the police got slammed back to back to back with to go orders, which made us excited as we waited for our food thinking this place must be great! AND IT WAS!! it lived up to the hype My husband got the lemon cilantro roll and the point Loma roll said both were amazing. I did the shrimp tempura roll classic California and an avocado roll. Both were amazing and my son did the kids chicken teriyaki meal, which was a great deal! Under nine bucks and it came with edamame and two pieces of gyoza. My husband also enjoyed a cold glass of Sapporo. If I could find an issue with one thing, it would maybe be their phone ringing nonstop with orders so it was loud in there but that's probably just because they are so great! They also have outdoor seating which we could probably try next time for a more quiet meal, but we will definitely be back if in the area again!

Both of us liked it alright. Not the best roll ever, but decent. The Bruce Lee roll was gross. Neither of us liked it. We ordered dessert. The tempura ice cream was like cold underbaked cake around a scoop of subpar vanilla ice cream. Not warm. Not crunchy. Not the tempura I'm used to. It was thick, squishy, dense and under cooked. We didn't eat it. The service was slow. Sloooooow. Consistently slow. The entire time. For ever single step of the way. Slow. Aggravatingly slow. Both my son and I left with stomach aches. We won't be coming back.

I usually don't like it at other places because it can be chewy or overcooked, but here it's so soft it practically melts in your mouth. Amazing texture and flavor! The mango roll with albacore and tuna purée was delicious, and the protein roll was beautifully presented, wrapped in cucumber and packed with different fish. Definitely one of my favorites! Yellowtail belly and otoro are always must orders for me. Some of the best quality fish I've had, and they never disappoint. You can gently press the fish against the roof of your mouth with your tongue and it just melts. SO good! The sweet shrimp is another must. They keep them live and prepare them to order, ours was so fresh it was still moving when it arrived! After you finish the sashimi, they take the head back and fry it for a delicious, crunchy treat. We arrived a few minutes before they opened at 5, and there was already a line. It's a small, intimate restaurant, and they don't take reservations, so arriving early is a good idea. Came here for their new AYCE option. Theres a standard $42 option but I opted for the premium $94…read moreoption which comes with 2 orders of toro sashimi and nigiri, uni as well as 1 order of negi toro as well as unlimited amounts of higher end fishes. You can also get rolls, bowls, ramen and small dishes but I skipped them all. The toro was fatty and tender, the uni was fresh and sweet. The premium came with yellowtail and salmon belly were very fatty and delicious. The gindara was nicely torched and also one of my favorites. Shima aji and hotate were also good. I did not care for the Kinmedai it's usually one of my favorites but this one wasn't as tender or fatty as I'm used to. With the AYCE you are allowed 5 items at a time per person for 90 minutes. Of course everyone in your party must order the same level AYCE and you'll be charged extra for any leftovers. The premium AYCE has some fish that are usually only found in higher end sushi bars or omakase menus like shima aji, kinmedai, gindara, and kurodai. Im not one to usually eat AYCE sushi because the quality is not that good, but this is easily the best quality AYCE. You can also order Ala cart if you're not that hungry but I suggest the premium AYCE option. Great value and quality. We got there early when it wasn't that crowded. As we left the place was full. Since you only have 90 minutes I think it's better to go earlier. Our server Hannah was very attentive and friendly. The place is quite large for a sushi bar. They are located in the same strip mall as sprouts and home goods so there's lots of parking.

I really have to appreciate how the owners listened to the reviews and made adjustments…read moreaccordingly. We only repeat at a few places that we as a family see value in and this place will be high on our list of rotational dining locations with foundational service like this. As one of the first I suppose to try the ayce after seeing ig ads, we set a date for a family lunch a couple days later. However after seeing 2 previous reviews we were hesitant but we still gave them a try despite them trying to iron out their rules to ayce ONLY because the owners willingness to adapt and adjust to customers concerns- this very much deserves our business and the reason why you should dine here too. It shows alot because if they care about their customers- it will show in the quality of the food and service. I understand that previously it was limited to 4 rounds at 5 pieces per person per round. For a party of 2, you would then only receive 20 pieces each or 40 pieces total of sushi/nigiri/sashimi etc. That would be awful for ayce sushi. You would be better off dining a la carte. They have since adjusted to make it unlimited rounds which is good value especially for the premium options. We have kids so the standard option suits us well and kids just enjoy soups and appetizers while we enjoy sushi. The premium would be reserved for a date night of just us parents. The quality of the food is phenomenal along with presentation. We did an omakase in Kearny mesa recently and I would say the premium option I saw from other tables is as close to the quality as omakase. Our standard option fish quality and cuts were exceptional. I initially had to compare them to other well known ayce sushi locations. First i thought Rb, but they are gone so next was Little Sakana who has reins on the ayce sushi market but serves warm and poor quality fish due to high volumes. We have tried others- isushi, conveyor belts, itachi- etc but quality is always lacking. After dining at Chef Jun- I would say they are carving their own category as a higher end ayce location. If you like omasake and ayce sushi- this is a marriage of the 2. Enough sushi when you feel like you need more from omakase... and high quality fish and presentation for ayce not found in other locations. Thank you- we will be back! I didnt even mention the cherry blossom decor which itself makes the location a great destination dining location for a date night.

Don't give me that look, just know over the hmmmm decades the quality has never been compromised. It's fresh, it's delicious, and you get a great view. I've gotten everything from the crab cakes, clam chowder, fish and chips, poor boy sandwich, to fried scallops, and even the smoked salmon. I'm telling you that smoke salmon is expensive but well worth it. I avoid the sushi since I get plenty of that back home but I do get the ceviche when available. It's a perfect compliment to tortilla or corn chips. Everything is delicious and you can tell the freshest. Plus if you want to cook fish at home they sell fresh caught seafood, seasonings, and sauces. Of you just come for the view, I don't blame you. The upper deck has a perfect view of the dock and the boats. Occasionally you'll see a seal just swimming along without a care in the world. Overall five stars.
