Overpriced sushi, please do not train your waiters to say "that's my favorite" after you everything you order.

Sushi Itto recently opened up in the West Star tower downtown and I was so excited to try it! We've seen the billboards and Instagram posts for months. Parking is easy! There is a parking deck attached to the tower. The restaurant itself is on the bottom floor. It was only opened a day or so when we went and everything looked great! It has a very modern and sleek look. We started dinner off with the gyoza, which had a great savory flavor and perfect texture. Not too chewy, not too tough. So good! I ordered a Maguritta roll, which had tuna, avocado, masago, tempura crab, and an absolutely delicious spicy sauce. I don't think I've ever finished dinner quicker. For dessert, we had tempura fried vanilla ice cream topped with berries and drizzled in chocolate. Everything was SO delicious! It's only been a couple days since we visited, but I can honestly say I can't wait to go back. I definitely recommend checking it out and bringing friends. read more

Booo. This place was not great. We entered without anyone at the front desk. To our surprise he was sharing chips with his girlfriend at the bar. That's how our lunch was in general - inattentive. We had a really nice dinner last night at Sushi Itto and we will definitely return. The food quality is fantastic and even though the quality of service is not at the level you would expect for these prices, it is already my favorite place to get Sushi in El Paso. First impression was not the best. The outdoor chairs are a little uncomfortable. The table was shaky and because they never picked up the Reserved sign or the two extra napkin and cutlery sets the small table was crowded and cluttered. We started with the Baby Squid and Yuzu Ebi starters. The baby squid was really fresh and had a nice sesame flavor. The Yuzu Ebi was just incredible and a stand-out with really high quality shrimp, a light tempura batter and a really nice Yuzu flavor. A must order. Next they brought out a salmon dish that we didn't order. We were told it was a mistake sent from the kitchen in error. But before we knew it wasn't my Sashimi, we each took a bite and it wasn't good. An overpowering sour cucumber flavor really ruined any taste of the fish. It had a very unpleasant aftertaste too. We each took two bites and didn't want any more. I was so glad when i found it wasn't something we ordered because we would have had to send it back. Next came out my wife's Sake Sanuki main course. Super fresh fish with a slightly spicy but pleasant sauce. My unagi rolls were tasty. The Tako and Hamachi Nigri were both expertly formed and some of the freshest most incredible fish i have had in a long time. The rice wasn't perfect. It wasn't seasoned traditionally with vinegar and salt and was very bland. The other standout and must order is the Sashmi. Thick cut Tuna (Magura) came out with a stunning presentation and super high quality. We finished with the Tempura Matcha Ice Cream which was really nice. Normally i would never comment about a restaurant's bathroom but the floor was dirty with a toilet paper holder and other garbage, the sink and mirror were dirty and the toilet seat was actually broken and did not lift or sit properly. Maybe overly picky but when you pay nearly $200 in El Paso with tax and tip I expect really good service and a high class environment and Sushi Itto missed the mark on both these things. The food quality is excellent and almost everything was prepared at a very high level. I still recommend Sushi Itto highly and once they work out some of their little issues this will likely be of the best restaurants in El Paso. read more

First time ever w/Yelp hoping this will assist the restaurant. Very accommodating staff, traveling alone where many waiters, asst. mgr, and the hostess asked me right away where I wanted to sit, etc. They situated me at the cocktail bar, which was so ok with me. I ordered (3) different sushi - (3) pieces only, not the standard (2) pieces/order. Surprisingly, the fish was fairly fresh, but the presentation was a surprise. The fish was plastered to the rice as if it was wrapped in plastic wrap, and tasted as was if it was made in the morning or day before. The rice was sucked of all it's moisture. It wasn't cheap either. I had been there months before for lunch and it was absolutely necessary to brag about it but this time, it was necessary to talk about the sushi. I joke but it's not far from what I experienced - do they allow knives at the sushi bar? You have potential but need to step it up a bit. El Paso/Juarez have sushi places because of the rise of maquiladoras (Japanese run) and so make your place a destination not a store front. I'll be back but good luck. read more

The ambience is fun, but also classy they sometimes have a dj. The food is fresh and delicious. They have drink specials on Thursday. They validate parking in the garage as well. The manager Christian always tries to make all the guests feel special. read more

First time here. Great spot downtown, beautiful views from inside. Would be a great date or special celebratory night spot. Had a delicious mango iced tea, I'm sure would have tasted excellent hot as well. Ordered miso soup as an appetizer, was happy to find mushrooms in the soup. Very delicious with deep flavors. Service was so so, waited for food to come for quite a bit with less than half capacity. Yellow tail was good, tuna was good. Know that they serve 1 piece of sushi for the price of 2. My roll was ok. Not the greatest for 21$ (jalapeño hamachi) again very small serving. My friends were also not so pleased. For the price, we expected better quality. The vibe was on point. Wonderful change for El Paso and then stays open late especially for the area! I have been looking all over for Ramen in El Paso, and while it's not tradition it definitely hits the spot! The steak and. The Shrimp are cooked perfectly. Also something that you hardly ever find in El Paso was a designation Mocktail section of their menu I always get the "Cha Cha Matcha" and I feel like an adult again (I'm on a medication that you can't drink alcohol with and I am getting tired of just ordering water or tea) I've always gotten great service here and it's a fun vibe. I will return. The service and ambiance are very good. The food is very tasty with clean presentation. The music has a techno beat and compliments the modern decor. I ate at the beginning of service period and I would not be surprised if the place gets a little noisy making conversation in a normal tone a little difficult. So we walked in the ambience was nice. They sat as relatively quickly and that was pleasant. We ordered sush, Goyza. The Goyza was quite tasty. We had also ordered hot green tea and they told us that their hot green tea machine was broken so then we ordered a cappuccino. The guy left, brought his manager back over and said their cappuccino machine was broken as well so we just ordered water, but this was after they offered mocktails for the kids. The children weren't the problem they had their drinks. We just didn't have ours. The sushi was quite tasty but the table had to be repaired as well with a number of napkins. I utilized the men's room, and while it was relatively clean, the faucet was very broken so overall, the food is good there but other aspects of the restaurant definitely need improvement for this to get a higher star rating. read more

I have mixed reviews about this place. First off, my Wagyu beef burger was amazing. The meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly. A lot of places rely on the bun and sauces to mask a bland burger, but not here! My husband ordered off the sushi side which is where things went downhill. He got one of the bowls which was pretty much all rice topped with a light layer of fish. He also got a rainbow roll that had a sad, paper thin layer of fish of which he sent back. They did make it right but this is a higher-end restaurant with not cheap prices. It was rather insulting and they should know better. I also wish the owner/manager was more environmentally conscious. Every drink came with a plastic straw in it, whether you wanted one or not. I thought we were moving beyond this issue. read more

Went for my moms birthday. We tried two appetizers. Gyozas and Temari. The gyozas were cold. Temari was also cold but they were good. Not the best I've had. We ordered two sushi rolls, Dragon roll was my favorite and my mom ordered fried rice and chicken teppayanki . I would say over all you pay for the experience. The food was 7/10 service 10/10. Disappointing to say the least: We were there with a party of 6 at the hibachi grill for a birthday dinner. Service was incredibly slow and took over 20 minutes to get drink service, including glasses of water and one bottle of prosecco. Additionally overall serrvice was incredibly slow through out the evening. Craft cocktails were $17 to $20 a piece and when the glasses of water did arrive, they were tap and room temperature. We had to ask for ice and to be refilled because the waitress took incredible long to check on our table. Considering that each dinner was $40 to $60 plus cocktails each person at the table had a bill between $140 to $160 for the night. Our reservation was at 7:30pm and dinner service didn't start until almost 9pm. Our table ordered scallops, shrimp, lobster, steak & salmon. All the sea food was over proccessed/cooked on the grill and tasted burnt. The chef did not have plates ready so all the veggies and rice also overstayed their welcome on the grill. Sadly, an underwhelming experience. I would not recommend the hibachi grill at Sushi Itto in El Paso. read more

We were sat very quickly upon arrival and the waitress was very attentive and got our drink and appetizer orders in right away. However, we had to wait over an hour for the hibachi chef to get to our table. He was very nice but took a VERY long time to make our food, and only made 3/4 people at the table their rice so we had to wait even longer for that. It took him an hour to cook our meal. We also did not love that every portion came out by itself (rice then meat then veggies). With how long it took him, by the time we got to the veggies no one wanted to eat anymore. Not to mention the fact that there's very little to no fish in each of these rolls , I don't mind paying high dollar but where is the fish . The restaurant is nice in the inside .
