It has been a while since we have dined here and was so happy we walked in today! We ordered the Bento lunch specials ($11.95!) and really enjoyed the chicken teriyaki and katsu. We also had tempura and sashimi and both were also fresh and delicious! Yum! The service was quick and attentive and we shall return soon!

Cherry Bomb! Soooo good!!

Excellent food and service! The cherry bomb was super good! I also had the sushi island roll. Both are great keto options. I will definitely be back.

Late post but I need to warn that we made a reservation through Yelp back on 3/6/26 for table of 4 at 6:15. When we arrived they had no record of the reservation. The place is small and all tables were taken. I showed them my confirmation text and they said we should've called. We were on a tight schedule to attend a show at Orinda Theater so had to find another place to eat. Funny how Yelp sent me a message today but good thing since it reminded me to post a warning. Neve got to try the food but giving 3 stars since unsure if it's the restaurant's or yelp's fault.

We were here for lunch on a Sunday and ordered from the Lunch Special menu. It's a small restaurant and we were the only ones dining in. However I noticed a steady pace of take out orders. We did not order any sushi. We ordered beef tip ($14.50) and the two item bento box (3 pieces of sashimi and teriyaki chicken.) for $10.50, It came with miso soup which was slightly too salty for our taste. These are great prices for lunch. My hubby said the 3 pieces of sashimi was very fresh and oh so good. The chicken teriyaki was good - not dry. It came with a decent serving of ginger which is one of my favorite side dishes. Service was good and since we were the only ones there we actually finished in less than an hour. This might be petty but I don't believe in tipping on the tax and I noticed that on the bill. Overall - food was good.

Solid local sushi spot. Didn't get the lunch special but couple of friends did which was very affordable and looked good. Unagi Don had the perfect proportion of rice to fish, good condiments to go with it. Service was fast. Restaurant was decorated nicely, on the smaller size but didn't effect waiting times when I went in for Lunch.

One of my rules is to never leave a review based only on DoorDash because it's rarely representative of a true experience and generally, the food isn't as good. However, I was craving sushi the other night and decided to try a new place and man! This place is amazing, and I can't wait to go in person to get a sense of the in restaurant experience. For now, the 5 is based on the great sushi! I ordered: Sushi puzzle - I wanted to not like this because it had little bits of green onion on top, which I didn't expect, but this was delicious and had a really nice kick! Spicy salmon roll - this is delicious! Super simple, but absolutely right. Lafayette handroll - again, delicious and fresh and a really good amount of fish! The frustrating thing is that all three were so good that I don't know what I'd order next time because I do like to try new things.

The food was great and the staff was friendly! The waitress is patient, welcoming and attentive. I ordered their sushi boat and some rolls for to go. The salmon sashimi was delicious and fresh. The nigiris all came with huge slices of fish. My favorite is lion king roll. And the raider roll is an also must try!

We stopped by on a Saturday evening, we sat by the bar, ordered a Bento box and two rolls, one was on the menu and the other one the chef (Alex) prepared for us after we told him what we liked, and we enjoyed that sushi the most, he said that it's a titanic with a little twist , the other sushi roll was great as well, everything was fresh, service was on point, they did everything on front of us, the sashimi was great too. The portions were generous , we couldn't even finish the bento between two, and took the chicken katsu to go. I'm surprised to see people think otherwise because we thought that this little "hole in the wall" was a hidden gem, if we are in the area again, we will definitely come back!

Stopped by this spot randomly. The place has a cozy vibe -- small, low-key, and relaxed. The waitress was friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Sapporo and some edamame to start, and I'm just chilling watching the game on TV while waiting for my Spider Roll. Good atmosphere if you're looking for something casual to unwind for a bit.

The food was very fresh and tasty, and the prices were fair for the quality. The waitress Winnie was so friendly, attentive, I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back again!

The only downside is it can be hard to share the little nibbles on the menu between 4 people unless you order more than 1. The appetizers are bigger portions are easier to share. Last night was just 2 of us in the dining room, which really heated up in the sunshine of early evening but then mellowed out. The menu had refreshing chartreuse cocktails to celebrate Chartreuse Day, which is apparently a thing (I'm into it). The scallop crudo was delicious but the halibut crudo with strawberry aguachile (!) was the standout. We did fried chicken with biscuits which were nuts, and I would buy jars of the anchovy chili crisp. The buckwheat donuts were a great way to finish the meal. Sweet and not heavy. It's a pricey night out but IMO well worth it.

It always pains me to give a place less than 4 stars, but I gotta share one person's opinion…read more Ultimately, a wonderful space that is offering up fare that ultimately didn't impress me and was quite expensive in value. Off night? Not sure. I came when this spot first opened, and I had similar sentiments. My favorite part of the meal was the dessert. The donuts and the hazelnut ice cream with that delicious salty cookie were truly the highlights of the meal. Everything else average. Not bad per se, but just unforgettable and of course... prices were expensive for quantity. The $40 1/2 fried chicken was really well cooked. A crispy thick layer of southern style breading deep fried with juicy chicken. It came with a sauce and we chose a mushroom sauce that I didn't think worked at all with this chicken. We also ordered a $7 (around that) biscuit that was small and fine. The gnocchi was actually well portioned for the price, but ultimately flavorless. And the shrimp and chorizo pizza, which I was excited about, again, lacked any depth or flavor... we asked for something to spice it up and she brought over a $2 side of anchovy chili oil. The smoked fish dip was just a few spoonfulls, which was fine, as I didn't love. The $21 asaparagus salad was the most flavorful with a middle-eastern spiced hummus to throw some flavor on it, it was just a very small plate for the price tag. Overall, this is teetering on a 2 star, imho. The place is really well designed, the outdoor patio so quaint and service was nice. The cocktails were solid, while none screamed out to me so I kept it at 1. Overall, not my cup of chartreuse (a very common ingredient they use in cocktails and even coffee). The space is lovely, but for the price tag, the fare didn't live up to the value.

A search on this website resulted in Marica having it on their menu. He booked a 7:30 PM reservation for two. We arrived early. What started out as a not too pleasant experience for us was the attitude of the guy who greeted us when we entered the restaurant. Attitude bordered on rudeness (3 star). We somewhat tolerated it, not knowing what to expect next. The restaurant was filled with diners, and the only available seating was not far from the front door. Oh, the chill was in the air, and my not wearing a sweater and/or light jacket to stay warm had me shivering. I had to brave the element (LOL). Since there was no Chilean sea bass on their daily special menu, it took a little longer for my companion and I to peruse the menu, and decide what entrees we were willing to have. Usually I would order an Arnold Palmer as a beverage; however, this time I decided to be adventurous - reisling peach spritz please - to whet my appetite. My date had the Temescal pilsner. Eats: Grilled salmon arange ginger saffron blanc beurre, roasted potatoes and vegetables. Korean short ribs, honey garlic gochujang marinade, mashed potatoes and vegetables. Our meals were on point and bomb-diggity delicious. The arange ginger saffron was perfect with the carrot. It reminded me of glazed carrots. The green beans were fresh and not overcooked. Ooh, the Korean pork ribs were tender and that sauce was sweet and had a subtle kick of spiciness. (Definitely a perfect complement for the pork ribs.) I have to admit the chef knew how to burn. Food tasted so good that figuratively speaking y'all gotta slap the cook and his mama. Ambiance: Comfy and casual. Despite the dining area is small, still it is a great restaurant for dining on a Friday evening. From my perspective and vivid imagination with the indoor lighting, it exuded a romantic atmosphere. Only in my mind I can hear soft jazz in the background. What convinced me to give Marica a 5 star rating? It was none other than Enriqueta, our waitress. She was pleasant, attentive and so accommodating. The chef lost our order ticket; thus, the wait time for our meal took a bit longer than we anticipated. She came to the rescue and comped us with dessert - chocolate souffle with homemade vanilla ice cream. It certainly was a gesture of kindness to have my date and me smiling from ear to ear. Return visit? Yes, mos def...not the rapper for Chilean sea bass. Enriqueta said I can always call to find out what their daily special is.

As a Peruvian who cooks this food at home, I can say confidently: this restaurant doesn't deliver authentic Peruvian cuisine, and the prices don't justify the quality. We ordered the ceviche, which lacked the brightness and flavor it should have. The seco was worse...you can taste when someone hasn't actually made this dish before or even tried it themselves. The adobo tasted more like mole than traditional Peruvian seasoning. Across every dish, the flavors felt off, overseasoned or just plain confused, the sarsa de cebolla had cilantro! It's supposed to be mint! ‍. I've tried several Peruvian restaurants around the Bay, and this isn't competing. The reviews are mostly five stars, but I suspect that's from people 1000% unfamiliar with what real Peruvian food tastes like. If you've had it done right, you'll notice immediately here. The one bright spot: service was genuinely excellent. The staff was warm, attentive, and made the experience pleasant. That's the only reason this didn't feel like a complete waste. Save your money and your time.
