Always a great crew, moving product fast and keeping it fresh!
Josh S.

Good spot, one of the few still legit all you can eat menus. Consistent quality and they turn over product fast, so fish is always fresh. If you are coming at peak times, be prepared to wait and dress for the weather because that wait will probably be outside. There is a package store next door if you need a beverage.

1 x 2pc shrimp tempura, 4 x 2pc sweet potato tempura, seaweed salad

Went here with a buddy of mine who would drive here every now and then to enjoy a whole ton of sushi. Both of us chose the AYCE option. Each person gets a menu to fill out in the beginning, and when you've made good progress on your first round of food, the waiter comes by with your second paper. I loved the sweet potato tempura, but looking back, I should have only ordered 3 servings because god that was filling. I barely managed to finish everything that I ordered. The seaweed salad lived up to everyone's hype on here, so I'm glad I got to try it. As for the sushi, I liked the Samurai Roll, but thought the Dragon Roll was 85% cucumber and 15% eel inside--not as satisfying. The salmon and mackerel sashimi were decent though. And the tamagoyaki (egg) was a little too sweet for my liking... I should make it myself at home soon. Since we went on the weekend, each person had a base cost of $30, but I feel like what I ate was worth more than that. Big W. Come here if you want to eat a lot!

Gyoza and spring rolls

My cousin and I came to sushi house on a Friday afternoon during their all you can eat lunch special, which we were pleasantly about. It was a bit busy and a lot of the tables were occupied but we were promptly seated. We both ordered gyoza and vegetable spring rolls which were fried to perfection and crispy. For lunch, I ordered the samurai roll, a sweet potato roll and a peanut avocado roll. We love Sushi House for a tasty, low key meal. All drinks are served in styrofoam cups and we love the vibe. We will definitely be back!!

This spot is always busy! Because they have delicious food, fast service and a lot of bang for your buck if you haven't eaten all day and do their all you can eat menu. I've been there a few times now and can say that the tastiness of the food is consistent, always hot and doesn't take long to come out. I hope chefs know how amazing their food is. The only downside is that it's a smaller establishment so seats fill quick especially when families come. But service is fast so we waited maybe 5 mins and were seated! I highly recommend this great Sushi House.

Philadelphia roll. Tuna avocado roll

I decided to order take out for lunch since I was in the mood for sushi. They have great lunch deals. I called and my order was ready within 15 minutes so It was nice and quick since I had to get back to work. I wound up getting the Philadelphia roll and a tuna avocado roll which were delicious. For the lunch special it came with miso soup and a ginger salad(lettuce with the ginger dressing). I was very happy when I found out I could get brown rice been trying to be a little healthier. Ignoring the fact that I ordered one with cream cheese. But overall the food was good and fresh. I will definitely come back. There is a little bit of seating so It appears that most of their business is through take out.

The food here is amazing! However, the service is not so pleasant. This specific waiter never greets us and looks like she doesn't want to be there or talk to anyone. I hope they don't wonder why our tip is low. The tip you get is based off the customer service you provide.

I've frequently gone to the Sushi House in Rocky Hill when I previously lived on the east coast, and after just moving back to CT, I was fiending for sushi. I stumbled on this Sushi House location and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fish, the portions, and the service. I was certainly happy with everything we ordered here, and they do not skimp on the fish and don't go heavy on the rice (something I really dislike about a lot of places, but these guys make sure you're getting an excellent amount of fish). Service was quick, efficient, we were given new sheets as soon as we needed them, and the staff was very friendly. Needless to say, we will absolutely be going back!

Fried rice. Garden salad. Miso soup. Vegetable gyoza

One of my favorite spots to get sushi. Very small and intimate but it almost lets you know the food is about to be BOMB! I always recommend getting the all you can eat, they have lots of appetizer options that can really fill you up! You may wait awhile to be seated (another good indicator) but once seated, the service is fairly quick. They have the best fried rice, I can't leave without a batch. I 100% recommend the volcano roll, super crunchy, moscato, or spicy Kani roll off of the all you can eat menu. The sashimi is also very fresh & of great quality. And ofcourse the best perk of all, it's byob with a liquor store right next door

The food is amazing! The decor is gorgeous besides the cutlery... you'll see as you keep reading. Like 10/10, but the service and atmosphere is not friendly. The atmosphere is quiet, like we have to whisper cause it's so embarrassing to talk. The lady was staring at us as we ate making me feel like I couldn't eat. Since it was my first time coming, I asked my friend if I could try one of his shrimp tempuras, and the lady ran to my table saying we couldn't eat what someone else ordered from the all you can eat menu... I get that it's a steal, but if I wanna share, the waitress police is going to stop me lol. Also what in the WASTEEEE, is the plastic utensils and paper plates. Don't expect a fancy lunch or dinner, just expect good food. Don't have high expectations. They fight in the back too so don't get scared if you hear yelling in the kitchen.

This is one of my favorite places to come for All You Can Eat Sushi!! You honestly can't beat the price it's like 25$ a person and it's also BYOB.. I pretty much bring a bar in a bag with me and they give you cups with ice if you ask. So many good choices to pick from.. everything is so fresh .. they get their seafood deliveries every morning.. I pretty much love everything here .. except for the roll with banana on it.. it's kind of well weird lol.. but some ppl may like it.. the plaza it's in is a bit run down .. and the interior is pretty plain Jane .. but they spend their money on keeping the quality of food as fresh and delicious as can be... you definitely won't leave hungry here.

It's okay. It will come off good if you never had sushi before. The service isn't bad. The place is small but the BYOB helps for the cons.

Great food! Owner is rude, doesn't respect personal space and will come to your car. Very disappointing and felt unsafe.

It's located in a plaza and it's a small, cozy spot; there were about 7 tables. I don't think they accept reservations. We went on Saturday for dinner, there were a group of about 15 to 20 and then my family. I was glad we were able to get a table for 4! The service was great! Food came out fast too. My kids had the chicken katsu with fries which they enjoyed. My husband had the sashimi platter and Philly roll, which he said was fresh and tasty. I ordered 3 sushi rolls: Dragon Roll- it had crispy tempura shrimp, avocado wrapped in sushi rice and nori seaweed; it was topped with eel sauce and sesame seeds. Shrimp Tempura Roll- which had Tempura Shrimp, Avocado, Cucumber, Tobiko, and Homemade Eel Sauce Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll- fresh minced tuna, seaweed, rice, and I believe popped rice to make it crunchy Honestly, all delicious. I couldn't find a negative. The sushi were fresh and innovative. The menu had so many delicious options that I wanted to try all of it in one sitting, if I was a rich sumo wrestler lol. Yes, it's worth the hype and I'll be back soon!

The husband-and-wife team runs a tight ship -- warm, professional, and clearly passionate about what they do. We're usually able to walk in and grab a seat right away, and we're almost always greeted with hot green tea -- a simple touch that sets the tone. The space is quiet and intimate, with an understated, austere décor and seating for about 20-22 guests, which adds to the charm. I've been ordering the Waikiki Rainbow Roll for years -- it never disappoints. The Dragon and Rainbow rolls are superb, and the Birthday Roll (a tuna and avocado roll topped with salmon) is excellent. The Naruto Maki -- crab meat, shrimp, tuna, salmon, and masago wrapped in lettuce -- is fresh, light, and packed with flavor. My son loves the Kimchi Mandu and the spicy ramen (be warned -- it's truly spicy and a very generous portion!). Even the miso soup stands out as especially flavorful. Much of the menu reflects what I love most about sushi: simplicity done exceptionally well. The nigiri and sashimi are clean, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. We'll continue returning several times a week for the outstanding service, professionalism, and the simple goodness of the food. A true local gem.

It was a humble reminder that you don't need to go to a culinary destination to find good food. Cheshire Connecticut may not be known for its food scene, however, I found Sakana was a genuine diamond in the rough. My expectations were admittedly low going in. My level of skepticism is always high when I see the "Asian Bistro" moniker, as it is frequently used for restaurants to try to appeal to the masses at the expense of quality by having a "jack-of-all-trades" menu that lacks the technical intricacies and mastery required for specific dishes. Additionally, these establishments tend to follow a "cookie-cutter" menu and offer the same boring dishes you can find at every other Asian Bistro. Even when initially walking towards the restaurant, I had my doubts. The exterior of Sakana honestly looked more like a clinic than a restaurant. Once I saw the menu however, my skepticism shifted towards optimism. For a local bistro, they feature a surprisingly extensive wine and cocktail menu, including premium sake options. I was particularly impressed to find toro on the menu; although it's undoubtedly becoming more of a trend in Connecticut, I was nevertheless happy to see it offered at Sakana as well. Overall I liked their sushi selections and everything I ordered was well-prepared and tasted fresh. We ordered a chicken and broccoli for our daughter and found the chicken tender and broccoli perfectly cooked. That may not sound impressive to those reading, but you'll be surprised how many restaurants fail to execute this baseline dish correctly. The service, although pleasant, was probably the only "weak link" of our experiences here. The quality of service was noticeably inconsistent between our two visits, and they would benefit vastly from having a more reliable and experienced front-of-house team to match the execution coming from the kitchen and sushi bar. Despite this minor gripe, Sakana was a standout. As long as I'm in the area, they will definitely be among the top of my list of places to eat!

So friendly. Is the food exceptional? To me no, but my parents enjoy it. Tonight we started with crab rangoons. Pretty good. Sauce on the side not very exciting. A chili sauce would be better. I got a sushi roll with White tuna inside and cooked shrimp on top and wasabi mayo. I forget the name of the roll but it was better than the two times I've ordered takeout. Miso soup was also good. Their soup bowls are in the shape of a heart which is super cute. Dad got some sort of a mixed protein dish with brown sauce (had shrimp, chicken and beef). Mom got the chicken and garlic sauce. They both got fried rice on the side. I tried it and it was very bland. Dad also got a salad with his meal and the ginger dressing was not very good. Red coloring to it. Usually ginger dressing is more on the orange side. Dad also got the Malaysian chicken coconut soup to start and it could use a bit more flavor. Was a bit watery. Mom loved her sweet and sour soup. Nice that this place is 5 minutes away. Cheshire needs more restaurants. Def not my fav restaurant in town though. Food to me is just ok.
