My family came here last week on a Wednesday. The selection of the buffet is outstanding. Hot and fresh and Delish! I was surprise when selecting from the buffet the food was kept at amazing temperatures. Upon, bringing my plate to the table it was still perfect temperature. I was very disappointed with this restaurant. We went for lunch shortly after it opened at 11 am. We were hoping the food would be fresh and hot. Unfortunately none of the food was hot. let me tell you ... we were SHOCKED at this place! chinese buffets are always a risk imo - they're either really good or realllly bad so we were skeptical but as soon as we were seated i already knew this place was going to be good. the food looked really good and there was a lot of variety. i really enjoyed trying all the different things - my favorites were the coconut shrimp and the general tsos chicken definitely. everything tasted fresh and was really enjoyable. my boyfriend tried the hibachi and he said that he would come back just for that! really great experience and great prices! might be our new quick lunch spot :) read more

Came back for lunch, seems they changed chef during this pandemic, food are more salty. There's no salmon in sushi bar, fried food in general just barely warm. Fried dumpling meat was too sweet, stir fried clam was overcooked. They still put large quantity of food out even there's not many tables... Typical Asian buffet. They have a ton of options, most of which don't taste great. They do have a nice selection of sushi rolls and the hibachi is good. Service is good . They do come and take your drink order and clear the plates while you are eating. read more

After the beach in Milford, we wanted to stop somewhere for dinner. We came across Osaka Hibachi Buffet. This is a mix, of Japanese, Thai and Chinese food, as well as pizza and other basic things. There is a pretty big selection of food here. They have freshly made sushi, chicken, salads, oysters, soups, desserts and more. These places can be dangerous on a few levels, it's a buffet, it's good to use your best judgment. The risk of getting food poisoning is higher then other places. My party and I were all fine. You can select what you like. Not everything is amazing and fresh. Some of the sushi was hard, other was fresh. Salads are fine. I prefer to stay away from the fried food. This isn't the type of place where I'd want to refill my plate again, and again. The dessert selection is very weak. They have a lot, but everything is dry. They had some type of mango dessert which I enjoyed. This is a fine place with a large variety to choose from. It was $15.99 per person. I'm not sure how often the menu rotates. You can also take your food to go but that's a separate price by weight. If you are in the area, and are tight on time, this might be the place to go, you can immediately fill your plate. This was my first time going to a buffet post-covid, and will likely not return to another buffet again. I came on a Saturday evening and it was pretty packed with folks at the buffet line without masks -- yikes. They offer a wide variety of options from hibachi, sushi, desserts, seafood, and much more. I was a bit skeptical about the quality of the seafood. It didn't look fresh and seemed to be sitting out for a while. While the service is very friendly and the prices are great (can't be $15 for all you can eat) the quality of food just wasn't it for me. Perhaps it was just a busy night in the kitchen, but I will probably not return anytime soon. read more

I came here with my children and we usually go to the hibachi in West haven, which is pretty good. We tried to try another hibachi as we went to the hibachi in West haven all the time, so I try to change it up. My kids and I went here but the food was off. The chicken wings smelled and the we're not done. Although the buffet experience was not the best, the hibachi cooking experience was delicious. Decent buffet place that has a different variety of selections you can choose from. From the classic Chinese buffet items to your sushi and hibachi station where you can choose your ingredients and they will cook it for you. The staff and waitress are attentive as once you are done with your plate, they will clean and remove it for you right away or in a very timely manner. I see them changing and refilling some food items usually so they are keeping that in check. Some food items aren't the best quality and tasty, however, you figure it out as you go on and see which items are better and go for that. Honestly can't expect much more from a buffet at this price point so I would say it's pretty good, especially considering what is in the area. read more

A decent buffet, a very wide selection of hot dishes. There are quite a few standard Sushi Offerings, but thhere is a nice hibachi station where you pick and choose your choices and it is cooked in front of you. Their steamed fish is phenomenal and goes fast (continuously replaced). read more

Variety of food, large parking lot and fast and attentive staff however the food was a bit subpar. The hibachi grill can get backed up because it's fairly popular. The noodles were hard from what I suspect as sitting out too long. The meats were overcooked by the chef and a bit overboard on the sauce. The crab meat from the buffet is mushy which shows it's been previously frozen. The sushi was ok, the sushi rolls were stale from being out too long as well. Again...I figured I gave this buffet time to get better. The last time I went here was in July...and it wasn't good. Well... something in my head said try them again this evening. I walked in around 5:30 and it seemed like they had a good crowd. The place overall seemed clean. I was sat quick and brought my drinks. I went and had wonton soup, several chicken wings and a spring roll. From what I could see the food quality looked better. There was nothing that was empty which was another good thing. I really wanted fried shrimp but I guess they omitted it from the buffet. Again the food quality looked better...what drops this places rating is cold food. How many times do I have to do a rating and say..."get real warming bulbs". Regular light bulbs do not keep the food hot...or even warm. That's why I'm only giving your restaurant 2 stars. I also told the manager when I was there in July I got sick. A good manager would have said "I'm sorry that happened you don't have to pay tonight"... didn't happen. All she said was like ohhhh hmmm. This is really it for this buffet. I am done. I gave them tips to fix the problem and nothing is done...so yeah...this is farewell. If you want cold food...have at it!!!! I forgot to mention the waitress bringing the drinks...SHE WAS GREAT!!!! She deserves a better restaurant to work in. read more

Website pictures don't match the in person experience. This place is run down , dingy , carpets are disgustingly filthy. The food was bland , boring and lack luster . Sushi was worse than grocery store 2 day old sushi . Don't go here unless you are on a budget and need to eat something. read more

Located in a shopping plaza with a lot of parking. The restaurant was clean and staff was very friendly. Good service: seated quickly, waters/drinks constantly being refilled, dirty plates taken quickly off the table. Huge food selection & very fresh on a Sunday afternoon. Vast selection to choose from Chinese, Japanese to american. Turnaround of dishes were good at dinnertime, but expect a crowd. Prices are a bit higher than the competition, but still a good deal. I think what makes this buffet a little different is the dessert bar. There were a variety of cakes when I went and they were surprising good. We went to this place when it was super busy (I don't know why) and the food was awful. The Japanese hibachi chicken was LOADED with gristle - SO disgusting and unappetizing when you have to spit out every bite you take!!! They don't have a lot of the "normal" stuff you see at Asian buffets - no sweet and sour chicken (although there was TONS of other fried stuff that looked just horrible), and no boneless spareribs, which are always really popular. Since we went for dinner, they had spareribs, but they were just HORRENDOUS!! They had a vinegar based BBQ sauce on them instead of an Asian sauce and they were just awful!!! The food - we got two hibachi meals with soup and salad. The steak was cooked very well, I asked for medium. The chicken was also cooked very well, very good and not dry. We also got a side of shrimp tempura and my girls gobbled those up... "shrimp chicken nuggets." All in all, very good and we will return for sure. Osaka Hibachi is hands-down the best Asian buffet in CT!! Osaka is my new buffet home! The assortment is broad and one of their tell-tale signs, their sushi, was fresh, well-stocked, and diverse. I visited this Sunday and the customer base was thriving, which is great for fresh food turn-over. They even have more assortment than the typical Asian buffet such as BBQ chicken, honey chicken, certain shrimp and other seafood items, etc. Their staff work hard! They constantly replenish food, clear tables, and check back frequently to refill drinks. They mean business and don't say much, but I appreciate the hard work and the quality service. The pandemic has taken a number of buffet casualties with it, whether buffets completely shutting their doors, service/quality drastically diminishing, or business models completely shifting to different angles like seafood only or something else. I used to frequent the Milford/Orange Hibachi, but they've been going through many ownership changes with quality standards lowering. I am very grateful to find a buffet that is even better than what I am typically used to in CT. Thank goodness for Osaka! read more

I was in the area a few days ago and decided we check this place out. We weren't disappointed at all very clean food temperatures were good and the selection for lunch was good.
