My favorite at all time is Super Prawn Roll. Pretty safe for pregnant women if you're craving for sushi but minimize exposed to raw foods. Service was good. This place is always crowded, so make sure join the waiting list on Yelp.
If you want a nice view, this is the place to go. You are right across the street from Alameda beach. But of course the price at the same time will be much more pricy. I no longer see Japanese chefs or waitresses. In my opinion, the quality and service have gone down. I was surprised to see the size of each pieces of the tuna sashimi were kind of like the size of a finger. That's like 1/3 the size of a piece of a normal size tuna sashimi. It is no longer the top pick for me as there are also many other Japanese restaurants in the Bay Area with high quality food and services.
I've had this spot bookmarked for years and finally got to try it for my daughters sweet 16 let's get into it . It's right by the alameda beach in a plaza so there's plenty of parking . When I walked in they have a kiosk to put yourself on the reserve list for seating . Lucky for us it wasn't crowded so we were seated immediately. Inside is big and roomy so you can definitely bring a large party here or just a date night . Our waiter was very nice plus all the staff were accommodating. I always get sashimi but I got to have my uni ( sea urchin ) craving knocked out ! They were plump and sweet but still had that fresh ocean taste omg ! Amazing . Salmon sashimi was nice thick cuts and melted like butter . For the roll the waiter recommended the island roll and it was pretty good ! I also got oysters ( kinda on the smaller side ) but still were fresh and the sauce they give to go with it was a nice touch . We also got the chicken teriyaki sushi combo which comes with Cali rolls and nigiri . The cuts on the nigiri were big as well ( but didn't taste as fresh as the salmon nigiri ) and they were gracious with the amount of tobiko they top the Rolls with . miso soup and salad was good . Overall I would definitely come back to try other rolls they have a lot of speciality rolls ! And if you like uni like me , definitely they got you covered !
Always a great experience at Sushi House! Got the sashimi platter (forgot which one it is but I believe it is $50). I saw someone else get it on yelp and the waitress let me know which one it is on the menu. Delicious! The lambada roll is my favorite! My only complaint tonight is the pieces were so thin! Usually they have THICK rolls! Maybe a new sushi chef? Wonderful calm dinner. Always coming back! Until next time!

Cute little spot right by the water, great for grabbing sushi after a walk along the bay. The service was pretty standard and friendly enough, but nothing super memorable. We had a late lunch so there was no wait. We ordered a bunch of rolls: Lion King Roll, Samurai Roll, Rainbow Roll, and Caterpillar Roll and the portions were huge. You'll definitely walk out with leftovers! Overall it was an okay sushi meal, not the most authentic sushi experience, but it's an option if you want a meal by the water with massive portions that will keep you full.
Biggest minus, not enough staff. We had to flag down to order, to add order, to ask for napkins etc. We didn't want to wait for table so we sat at the counter. Plenty of space. We ordered appetizers. I didn't do the ordering. The native person did. All the food came out delicious. I was most impressed with the spinach in sesame sauce. It was cooked spinach shaped into a flower, sprinkled with seaweed and surrounded by the drizzling of sesame sauce. The sauce wanted me to go home and make it myself. The "blossom" with beautiful presentation of fresh tuna and avocado shaped in a petal. The fried tofu. The sashimi salad. For 3 people, I was full. The sushi makers were all Latino men. They were awesome. This guy made a sushi boat. Everything was fresh. Yelpers can sign up remotely instead of coming to the restaurant. The sound level was good. Able to have conversation. The sunset in alameda is gorgeous. After dinner a walk before sunset. Perfect
Another great meal. Lots of bento boxes around but my go to is the rolls. Seated fast and quick service. Bright and lots of space, roomy table and booths.

Wow this place is terrific! The Bento Box is a great value and you get a lot of food. Comes with soup and salad. I only got a picture of my soup and when my Bento Box arrived, I started scarfing it down immediately. A huge Yelp faux pax, I forgot to take a picture!! I ordered mine with Teriyaki Beef and California Roll. The California Roll was so fresh and delicious, I had no idea a Cali Roll could taste that good. It's usually such an underrated roll but this was a stand out. The Teriyaki Beef was a generous portion and very tender. This restaurant is so clean and spacious with lots of light from the wall to wall windows overlooking the water. Service was efficient with lots of different servers all helping out.
We come here at least once a month for the last 23 years until 2017. Since 2017,their dishes are very inconsistent. These days we just come every 2 months. On July 12th we all ordered 3 items Bento boxes, the Teriyaki grilled chicken and beef looked and tasted like boiled chicken and beef with teriyaki sauce. The salmon taste so plain. That was our worse experience at sushi house for the last 23 years.
It's been a while since I came back here, and it's still as packed as ever. Luckily we checked in on yelp ahead of time so waiting wasn't all that bad for us. Food still just as good as it was back when I last came here. Service this time around was slow, but that's cause they were short on servers. They tried their best to be attentive.
Everyone always wants to go here. We have been here a handful of times already. I for one wanted to eat else where but my friend and her family wanted to go here so my group of 4 would only stay if we could sit with my friends already big group. My friend didn't realize I texted her back that we would come so they didn't set the table to include use but there was a bit space for us to sit then later the table next to us opened so we were able to have more table room by then. They are very pricey to begin with and I know that with big groups they would add a so called service charge which is pretty much the tip to all customers point of view so don't expect more than that. Yet their bill still gives a suggestion for more tip. I did add a little more because they made it work for us to be with my friend's group but the suggestion for extra tip is definitely ridiculous to be honest. The service was ok, our server seems to have a lot of table inside and food was delivered later than expected. So again to service fee us makes it like it is just to expensive to eat out when the place is very simple. The area we sat was nice and private for us because we took up all the seats in the patio area but they moved the table setting away from the ocean view that ended up being open space. Their patio is indoors so it wasn't cold there. It seemed like guest wanted to sit inside even though there was an extra table available by us after we took the other big groups table. The bill looked crazy and I'm glad the server made a separate bill for my group. It's not like she didn't make much from us nor did she do so much. She did get everyone's order right. The timing was a bit much for some but I planned it to where we could share a bit with my girls. Food was delicious leftovers were ok Their restroom is located by the kitchen area so you might feel like your in the wrong place but it's there Parking is usually full but it's an outdoor mall area with tons of parking...walking a bit isn't bad. read more
Sooooooooooooo good!!!!!! Food is always on point. The only knock is drink refills may sometimes be delayed. Though it is always busy, staff does very well tending to customers while also turning tables efficiently. Restaurant is clean and has an open feeling. read more

The service was quite good, and the food was decent overall. However, if you're looking for a truly authentic Japanese dining experience, this may not be the place. I ordered a $30 bento dinner, which came with tempura, soup, salad, and rice, along with a choice of two main items. I chose tuna sashimi and yakiniku, and the portions were very generous. That said, the flavors didn't quite feel traditionally Japanese. The restaurant itself is fairly large, with plenty of seating and a pleasant atmosphere. We also ordered three different rolls, though I don't remember their names. The rolls were enjoyable and tasted good, but the overall flavor profile leaned more toward a Japanese-American fusion rather than classic Japanese cuisine. Overall, it's a comfortable place with good service and generous portions--nice for a casual meal, just not ideal if authenticity is what you're seeking. read more

I've been a loyal customer for over 10 years, so I was disappointed by my recent experience. On 6/22/2026, my bill was $55.38, and I left a $5 cash tip. However, when I checked my card transaction, I was charged $65.38 instead. I recommend that everyone take a photo of their receipt before leaving the restaurant and double-check the amount that posts to their account. I hope this was an honest mistake, but it's important to review your transactions carefully. read more

The waitress is extremely rude , last time i went here she was rude , aggressive , and looked irritated for no reason. went here again today and she was still irritated. i only came in this place to eat, not argue over if i was okay in the head or not, who would ask someone if they were okay in the head .. i even asked for the manager and he did nothing about the very, extremely rude waitress , and just asked if i wanted to dine in to eat or not . the service is very terrible , do not ever step foot in this place if you wanna get harassed or violated for no damn reason at all. i was minding my own business like a normal person waiting in line and the waitress let the customer behind me go first???? i was already first in line and she let the other customer go first?! read more
We were pleasantly surprised! I havent visited the Sushi house in over a decade, but I was in the area with some friends and they wanted sushi. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon around 4PM and it was quite empty so we were seated immediately. Parking was easy. When we sat down, they brought us our menus and tea, and they were prompt to ask us for our orders. The orders came really quick, and we ordered the lion king(which everyone knows it typically takes a while). What we ordered: Lion King(4/5): This was the first this we were served and it was hot and delicious. Thet did skimp out on the salmon a little, you can tell how thin the layer it, it's the thinnest salmon I've seen on a lion king roll. They do add a lot of rice so it's filling. $18 for this roll. Hella hot(3/5): Okay not as hot and flavorful as we thought it'd be. It was average. Also $18, we didn't think it was worth $18. Marine boy(4/5): Unique combination with the salmon skin and unagi with the raw fish. We did enjoy this one and I'd never had a roll like this before. Matcha cheesecake(5/5): Yum! Delicious, but small. I guess that's just the norm though. The tea was also really good. We spent some time enjoying the tea with our matcha cheesecake desert and they didn't rush us to leave which was nice. The place did start getting bush around 5PM. Between three of us, we spent around $75. The prices do seem steep when you see the price tag of $18/roll. However, the rolls are decently substantial and the 3 of us were full. read more

All 4 of us got bentos and they did not disappoint!! Nice miso soup, fresh salad, but Esp the huge amount of veg shrimp tempura!! We took home leftovers enough for another dinner!! read more
Came on a Wednesday afternoon around 3pm near the end of lunch hour. The place was clean & empty, we were quickly seated. I ordered the Chucky Roll, Lion King Roll, and Scallops roll. The Chucky roll was good, I didn't care for the texture of the scallops roll much. My favorite was the Lion King rolls. Overall I would recommend this sushi place, can't wait to come back and try more items! read more
Sushi House is still one of the best Japanese restaurants in the Bay Area. The staff are all very kind and service is efficient. Even with a full house, they always remember what I ask for. The portion sizes are huge. I can never finish my entree. I feel like each entree can serve two people. The restaurant sits near the water so it's beautiful, especially in the day time. Been coming here for more than 15 years so will definitely be back ! read more

Sushi House is one of my go to spots, especially since it's close to Alameda beach. It's honestly a nice place to hang out with friends or family after being by the water. The sushi is always fresh and really good, and they have a lot of options to choose from. They also have a good variety of drinks. It does get pretty busy, especially on weekends, but they have a waitlist iPad (Yelp) right when you walk in and a small waiting area in front, so it's pretty organized. If you're doing takeout, you can just call ahead for pickup which is super convenient. The restroom is clean and well maintained too :) They do close for a bit during the day and then reopen, so just keep that in mind. Overall, really solid spot. Growing up in the bay, I've been to sushi house soooo many times. Sushi House is my mom's favorite place to get sushi. My family comes here for celebrations or to get to-go! Parking is usually easy since there is a parking lot. It could be busy during the peak hours. For this review, I ordered to go. You can order on their website or order by the phone. When using the website on my phone, there was a glitch. So I called. I placed my order with no issues through the phone and paid when I went to pick it up. Sushi was delicious as always and everything was made fresh. I do believe the portion is bigger for Bento box when you get it to-go. But remember, the price is $30 for the bento box combination. I love their lion king! It is $18 for 6 pieces. Overall, I love sushi house! I'm not qualified to tell you if it's the best in the bay or not though... i havent been to too many sushi spots yet! read more

One thing about sushi house is their rolls are always huge and it's fulfilling. The prices have gone up over the year but it's still a good value for the portion. I love the fact you can use Yelp to put yourself on the waitlist. The service this time was much better but it could be a slower night. Super scenic restaurant! I enjoyed coming here for a little sushi date. Panoramic views of the South Shore waters from the large windows. I got the Sake Salad, which came with iceburg lettuce, ikura, olive oil dressing, sprouts, and ODDLY parmesan cheese... The salmon was really fatty and high quality surprisingly. Cut into poke-like cubes, it was pretty tasty! I think I was really cut off guard by the addition of parmesan, but it grew on me after a while. What a silly combination in my salad... read more

Sushi house has always been a staple for me, and I didn't let my previously iffy experience discourage me. So glad I didn't. Service was much better, servers were always checking in. The island roll was huge, I love a good lemon roll. The asparagus beef was the surprise for me! I don't even like asparagus, yet the beef, teriyaki sauce, and asparagus was a great combo. read more
The service is fantastic and the food on par with larger portions compared other places and this is on all servings etc. but the quality, cleanliness and sanitary practice has to change. They seated me at the sushi bar and this was an eye opener for me after years of going here. Lets get started. Here is what never see seated in the dining area. I was disappointed on their food prep area and serving dishes and especially the Japanese wooden sashimi / sushi boards stacked at the sushi bar. Those have a lifespan and that has to change before we return. The wood is very old and we have been going here for many many years seeing the same ones and thankfully we have not gotten sick yet. The sushi bar area where I was seated shows all the unhealthy visual signs and how they make the food made my realize I need to reach out and say something. Well, they need to address cleanliness Go have a look and you will understand my survey. Please make the inspection and address the kitchen and prep areas and do not ignore the obvious. We will return when this is addressed. Will update the review for sure. read more
It's meh. It's a good spot for your quick casual sushi spot, but not for high quality sashimi. It does the job for your sushi cravings but that's about it! Service was great, fast, friendly. Tons of seating indoors. The restaurant itself felt a little grimey. Floors were sticky and the table feels grimey as well. We ordered the alameda sushi boat and it was meh. Some of the sashimi was not the most fresh. I believe the hamachi may have been frozen, thawed, then frozen again bc it was mushy. The tuna and salmon were fine. The uni was NOT great. Very no bueno. I didn't expect too much, though. We also ordered some rolls which were all pretty decent. Those hit the spot. I'd only probably come again if I didn't know where else to go. read more

Glad to be back as our experience this time was great. I always love how they have plenty of sitting areas for customers waiting. We had put ourselves on their Yelp waiting list before arrival. Service now felt better than in the past overall which was a plus. We used to come quite a bit but then stopped as we felt quality of their food declined. However, it's been a long time since we've come back and food was delicious! We ordered several different types of sushi, a bento box, and a hamachi kama, absolutely delicious! There are both indoor and outdoor seating and the overall ambiance is nice and comfortable. read more

Dine in- Wednesday march 11 at 7pm (A weekday, not busy, normal) walk in no wait for table on the weekday. Hurts my Heart to give such a low review, because this was our go to sushi spot in the Bay Area for many years. All the years it's been 5 stars forshure, not anymore. Lately Service has been Under performing, the Lady waiters are almost rude, not friendly or welcoming at all. We are afraid to ask for something because they look angry or frustrated, at one point we asked for utensil and she forgot, we had to ask again. They also don't check on us at all. Tables don't look clean, they look sticky blurry, like they just do a quick wipe. The food is Always delicious and amazing, good size good portions. The Seafood udon soup is a 5 star soup, but for a the sushi..... It's been very sloppy lately. Doesn't look appetizing from the arrival. It looks falling apart, We have noticed this is frequent that the sushi rolls are Lazy sloppy work. We slowly stopped comming here from 4 times per month to 1-2 times a month. I would give 3 stars for the delicious food, but customer service doesn't help, and the rolls are sloppy, it wouldn't be honest. I do recommend coming here if you love sushi so much and don't mind sloppy rolls, but you know what to expect. lol We have been going to Angry fish sushi, their sushi is still 5 stars and more clean rolls. read more

We used to come here quite a bit through out the last 20 some years and the lines used to be so long. This time there was no wait on a weekend lunch time, which made us a little weary but hey how can you go wrong after years of good food. The waiter who served on us was totally nice that wasn't the problem. We got a cherry blossom roll and a vegetable udon plus some other stuff. When we got the cherry blossom roll we were like hummm I don't remember the roll looking so sloppy and sad. See picture. We ate one piece and the fish was not fresh like it used to be. It had a weird milky flavor. Then when we got the veggie udon, there was no Japanese sansai veggies but your common broccoli etc, which is fine but I have had enough frozen veggies to tell that these are definitely not fresh veggies. So sad to see such a wonderful place go down after this many years. Oh yea the woman who brought our food had an attitude to the point my child said "boy she sounded rude". Sad we won't be going back to this place again. I am a glass half full kinda person so all I can say is that at least we didn't get sick. read more

Decent sushi spot in Alameda, good location and okay pricing. The rolls are pretty good if you're into this type of sushi restaurants, and frankly they do have a few interesting, more elevated options on the menu that aren't too shabby either. For example, I very much enjoyed the uni we ordered last time and would be down to get some ankimo next time as well. I would be happy to return for dinner in the near future. read more

Yes they are open typically till 9. We go there 2-3 times a week. If you can get through they will take a phone order but depending on the time and day your call may not get picked up. Late afternoon/evening is the busiest. They are open everyday.

Yes, totally do. Plus its by the water so its not usually very hot anyways.
Is this place all you can eat?
No it's not. AYCE sushi places are like D quality sushi lol.
