From all the years I've been coming here, this location is always delicious, consistent and they always make my special orders perfectly. My favorites are the fresh roll (cucumber wrapped with krab salad and I order mine with salmon instead of the default tuna. The poke salmon is delicious with the turnip. I also love the scorpion roll with fried shrimp inside, krab salad, and avocado on top with sweet chili sauce and peanuts. The hot tea is still free and the servers are attentive and take special orders. The booths are for 4 people or more so I normally sit at the bar, which is an easy place to grab items off the rotating track. read more

I was feeling kinda hungry and i wanted to take a break from all of the $5-$7 fast food value meals. It was about 7:30 and I saw that they closed @ 9...that might have been a mistake, but I decided to go anyway. I got there about 10 before 8 and the place was pretty busy. There were only 2 open spots at the track seating so i took one. Long story short I had 2 plates and they were both underwhelming. They were both a step warmer than room temp and that made me think they had been going round and round a little too much. Sushi usually is on the chilled side unless it's fried or blowtorched lol. I ended up cutting my losses and coming back home to make one of my (nearly world famous) quesadillas. No frills sushi. It has a conveyor belt which makes it fun. Everyone gets to choose what they want to eat. Each plate is priced the same at Sushi Hana. They also have a lot of parking which is nice. With regards to the sushi, nothing too special. Everything is okay. I honestly prefer their rolls over their nigiri. I really enjoy nigiri but it depends on the place that makes it. Anyways, I mainly got their sushi rolls which were good. The sushi chefs would also ask if we wanted anything specially made for us. We ordered a spider roll and some others that they made to order. Imagine walking into a sushi restaurant and seeing a conveyor belt filled with items, but none of it is anything you would consider legitimate sushi, nor is it anything you would care to order. So you politely ask to order from the menu, only to discover that they are out of everything you ask for. The conveyor belt was chocked full of items today, but it was all the common boring stuff very few people are interested in. Service is efficient, and prices are very friendly. Great for a quick, tasty meal with friends. Service was on the slow side, as they were a bit understaffed. But overall the restaurant was pretty decent and clean. Better quality than I expected. Tip: If you want fresh or hot rolls, make sure to order directly with the server, so they can prepare the food for you. They come on the same plates as the sushi/rolls on the conveyor belt is. They also serve hot rolls on the conveyor belt too, but some of them, have been sitting there for hours and it wouldn't be as hot. read more

Food is okay, but it isn't bad. It certainly isn't clean inside with dust on just about EVERY surface. And they make seating just about the weirdest thing EVER. Do NOT order the "seaweed salad" because it's essentially a sushi roll with seaweed salad on top (1.5 tbsp maybe?) And wrapped in Nori on top of rice. No thank you. The service was TERRIBLE here. Yes I get it conveyor belt sushi. But y'all we tried VERY hard to order a can of coke and it was PAINFUL because of the language gap. Coke is Coke right? The woman who "waited" on us didn't seem to know much English and she spoke Spanish to us in her confusion. I don't mind English as a second language but how can you "serve" people when you don't understand? That was frustrating. Ambiance is zero. It's not nice, clean, open, nothing. They sometimes get my order wrong for takeout but the sushi's always great, they stuff these rolls really full and they have great deals. I've only gotten takeout so far but the restaurant seems nice and clean. Great staff too. I would definitely recommend getting takeout because they make the rolls fresh. read more

Food (5/5): Really, what is not to love? You can sit down and get fresh, yummy sushi for less than $3 a plate! My favorites are seared salmon (2 pieces!), and the NY roll (cream cheese, krab, with salmon on top!). I also love the Rocky Roll and Scorpion roll. Service (4/5): Service is a bit of a hit or miss sometimes. Hot tea is free (and yummy), you now need to ask for wasabi and yum yum sauce if you want it. At the end, just ask for the check, which is them counting the number of empty plates on your table. Pay at the register on the way out. Atmosphere (4/5): Fast food, bar atmosphere. I have lived in the appartments next to here for almost 3 years, so this is the place I go for convenience. EVERY SINGLE TIME I come in the staff has been rude and condescending. Just tried to get food for my wife TOGO that just worked 12 hours and called at 7:50 ( todat is sunday, they don't close until 9). Someone answered, then hung up on me. I called SIX times before I walked over and got there at 8:20 only to be told that they know they close at 9 but they can't give me food. "Dont you close at 9?" "Yes" *talks shit about me to the line staff, not knowing i know what are they saying* "So why can't I order togo?" "We can't serve you" There were still a ton of people inside AND someone who had ordered Togo who was waiting for their food. It's really good as a rotation sushi restaurant. You usually get seated/eat promptly, which is nice if you are short of time. I like this location because the Washington square one always seems a bit overwhelming. This one, on the other had, is always manageable even with the lunch crowd. I usually order Seared salmon, creamy scallops as soon as I get seated. Then just grab whatever looked good on the belt. They do a really good job filling the belt with all kind of rolls/sushi and keeping them fresh. Which is a big plus. The freshness and abundance of the rolls/sushi is the reason I keep coming back. There's something about conveyor belt sushi that can't be replaced. We came here after restrictions lifted and sat at the bar. The experience of grabbing random plates from the belt was great. The spicy salmon handroll was pretty plump compared to other conveyor belt sushi's that skimp on the salmon. Do reviews written before the pandemic even mean anything anymore? LOL Here is an update... have gotten take out several times and eaten at the counter for lunch a few times. Continues, IMHO, to be a good value for the price. Is this the best sushi? NO. But you shouldn't expect that at a sushi go round place. I've tried several other belt places around town in the last year and Sushi Hana has been very consistent in being solid. Some items I quite like a lot, but most things are solid as opposed to great, and there is nothing wrong with that. My spouse likes rolls and tends to avoid sashimi - for someone like her this place is an extra great fit. If they are very busy DOUBLE CHECK your take out order to be sure it isn't missing anything. Have issue about 20% of the time. They are an easy place to get solid take out from for this type of food. Washington Square location matches it for that too. This place used to have good sushi and good service but all of that has changed. Each time we order over the phone, the food we receive is not correct. Items are missing or we don't get our soup or wasabi or soy sauce. The food quality has really gone down. we were there yesterday and there were clearly foods going around on the track that should have been pulled. I ordered soup and green tea from two people and neither person remembered to bring it to me. I realize that COVID impacted businesses but at this point, they're not doing anything well. The dine in experience is bad and my experience with take out is bad. They either need to stop dine in services or stop take out or hire more people. I will not be going back. My wife and I have been going to Sushi Hana for many years. This location is close to our house. We have also gone to the one in Tigard and Tualatin. Is this the best conveyor belt sushi in Beaverton, no. But, they do offer some of the unique rolls that I enjoy. Personally I am a fan of the dynamite roll. I am putting this up based on one bad experience from last night. I am giving it one start because of how badly things went last night. Last night we came in between 6:45-7:00 PM. We made contact with 1 of 2 wait staff who told us to take a spot at the bar at the end. They knew we were there. It was a busy dinner rush and only one person behind the register and one person taking orders, cleaning tables, etc. They were overwhelmed. However, we have seen this before where it was a limited staff on hand. While we were waiting for someone to come by to get our drink order, more patrons arrived in and were seated. They had their order taken. Meanwhile, I am trying to get a server's attention which they did not stop. They kept seating more people. I finally got one of the chef's attention to ask for hot tea for my wife and me. While I was doing this, I was grabbing one of two plates off the belt to start. A few minutes later, we only got 1 hot tea and it was just hot water. After waiting another 5 minutes, we gave up. We did not get a ticket or bill when we got up. We paid at the register and left. We walked over to Sea Sweets and got dinner over there instead. We won't be coming back here for a while. Lastly, we understand the service industry is struggling. I work in retail and can relate and understand when there are a lot of customers and are short-handed. But I feel they could have done better. Customer service was very strange. We felt uncomfortable and unwelcome which is a bummer because we had taken our kiddos out for a dinner date after seeing the sunset. We all agreed that it was a weird vibe and it was felt as soon as we walked in as a family, waited for seating (to which is an odd arrangement,) ordering because there wasn't much on the conveyer belt.... just an overall disappointing experience and we spent over a $100 there. Wednesday evening about an hour before close and bar seating in front (as soon as you walk in) was full and the booths are an open concept with seating that is one long cushion type. The conveyor belt also is quite large and a section closed off when we arrived. The items on the belt were left without the lid which wa surprising. Items ordered directly were fresh and came out fast. The rice however was thick and took over the fish, the fish wasn't too thin but not very thick. No ginger on the tables, need to ask for it Due to our timing, we ordered directly and though wanted to eat more left somewhat full. So, we have not been back here much since it became Sushi Hana.The grief over the departed Izakaya Kaiten was too overwhelming. Sniffle. We now have a couple other favorite sushi places that we frequent which are a bit closer to us. Sundays in Beaverton are not terribly sushi friendly, however, and after we tried two of our other favs (closed :(!!) we landed here this afternoon around 2:30. The place was about half full with three servers and two sushi chefs. We were motioned to barstool seats because the tables were full and there were two of us. Understandable but ugh. These are very uncomfortable tall wooden barstools with no footrail in front of them and no padding on the seat. If you're short and round like me, or just short like my kid this isn't super awesome. Our feet dangled which makes my back hurt. She was fine. Youth, you know. I think this uncomfortable seating is designed to move us in and out quickly?? But we spend less money by staying less time, too. Shrug. They do have a couple tables with squishy seating and there might still be short chairs on the far side, I couldn't tell. I'm remembering why we come here less often as I type this. It's usually busy and we never get good seats. We do like Sushi Hana for having a nice variety of fresh fruit, little milk probiotic drinks in tiny plastic bottles ( my daughter likes these) and really good, plentiful, vinagery sunomono. The salmon nigiri was pretty fresh not too thin and there were many plates of it on the belt. The sushi chefs are happy to make what you want fresh, too. We saw no inari for my teen but upon request it was quickly produced as was hot miso. She loves the little cream puffs and I like the sesame balls. We had 15 items total for $25. Pretty good. The rolls are just okay. I think our other sushi places, admittedly more expensive, have spoiled us. The rolls on the belt seemed pretty typical but looked fine. Servers are working and moving quickly and maybe a little hard to grab but not too hard. All in all it's solid sushi track. But the seating loses it a point. Ouch. read more
