    Sushi!

Ordered some sushi via delivery. I thought the fish all tasted pretty fresh and appreciated that they saved on packaging to get everything into one package. The flavors all seemed pretty good to me and were as advertised. If I had a thing I disliked, I felt the rice was just a little hard. I think they could have also easily cut the roll pieces in half to even out the rice-to-filling ratio. I was fairly satisfied and would try them again in the future.

Came for lunch last week at 1pm and the restaurant was very clean (restroom clean too), two entrances and seated. We had a gift certificate and the amount must be used in full during one visit. The menu can be written on it seems which is neat and the food came fast. We got some nigiri, assorted tempura entree, nabeyaki udon, and some orders to go. The nigiri was fresh and nice cuts (one order is 2pc), balance of rice to fish was good. Something I appreciated was that the soy sauce was capped to remain fresh and assume due to the pandemic. With the udon it was quite filling, udon was hot and had some veggies in it as well. Great for a cold day. The assorted tempura came out piled high, presented well and though the batter for the shrimp was a little thick, it was still filling as it came with rice and miso soup. The order to go also came out on time as we were checking out, wrapped well too. As we were dining, a lot of to go orders were picked up and there was a section in the middle for them. The process seemed well organized. A quaint spot in the middle of the busy downtown Beaverton that offers a fresh and filling meal.

Overall: Sushi is good, service can definitely be improved. Atmosphere: We came and ate inside. Looks like they don't have a lot of customer dining in because it was very informal. They had the to-go station right in the center of the restaurant. There was no music playing. It was even a little awkward. Food: The sushi was good. I recommend coming during happy hour that way you get them discounted. I like to think of Mio sushi as fast food sushi. Service: The lady who was the hostess and the server was very antsy. She was impatient, had to do things her way but would take forever to come check in on us. We would get up to ask something and she would rush over and tell us to sit down.

I ordered kalbi as one of the options for the bento box. Look at the order for kalbi. The meat was so burnt that I couldn't eat. Really disappointed.

sad looking philly and cali rolls.

Just got my delivery.....No avocado in the California roll and barely any cream cheese in the Philly roll, just the tiniest microscopic sliver that couldn't even be tasted. And small amounts of the other ingredients. Not very fresh. Rice was glue-y. Disappointed and obviously this business must be suffering because the quality has taken a steep nosedive. So sad. Hope things look up for them soon, but we won't be ordering again.

    Over cooked rice roll. Vomit.

Sushi rolls were overloaded with pasty, overcooked rice. They also weren't cut completely. I can honestly say I could've done better myself. Definitely not what I'd expect from this chain. I called to speak to a manager, but the manager wasn't available. Instead, I offered some honest, constructive criticism to the person answering the phone (1/17/21), who told me "somebody from a different location" was making the sushi that night, and nothing else. Save your money and go elsewhere. Restaurants still in business at this point should be bending over backwards to earn and retain business, not acting indifferently toward unsatisfied customers. Especially at these prices. Never again.

We've been doing Sushi in Portland for about 12 years and have yet to find a place we like better than Mio Sushi. We have never had a bad meal here. Their service is always good - if you go often enough they recognize you and remember what you like. Dinner for 5 at this location tonight. They have lots of ornate rolls, but honestly I like the simple dishes the best. We had a wonderful evening, arriving early enough to get a break on our Sapporo beer for happy hour. The garage doors were open to the outside on a beautiful day. Their prices are reasonable, and our sushi order was large enough to come out in separate platters, which is nice when you order the rolls that have tempura or other cooked/hot ingredients. I heartily recommend this place. Reading the other reviews it appears that many of the issues are with delivery orders, and you have to wonder how many of the problems originated with the delivery service.

Overall: 4.5/5.0 ________________________________________…read more*Food: 1. Agedashi Tofu & Kirimochi - Light batter on tofu and kirimochi, but enough to soak up the tempura sauce. - Kirimochi and tofu were both soft and chewy with a crispy exterior. - 10/10 2. Lobster Kara Age - Just what you would expect from Kara Age, crispy and juicy. Not too oily, not too much batter. - Yuzu mayo covers the oiliness of the fried lobster. Citrus sauce is not overwhelming. - 10/10 3. Sushi & Sashimi Combo (Sushi) - Excellent quality sashimi grade fish. No fishy aftertaste, rice was not overly sweet or salty and not overcooked. Fish slice size was larger and thicker compared to other restaurants. - 10/10 4. Sushi & Sashimi Combo (Sashimi) - Excellent quality sashimi grade fish. Hamachi was extra fatty and had amazing texture. Akami was not fishy at all, texture was great. - White fish on the side with yuzu sauce was a little fishy. Could improve, but overall an amazing dish with thick cut sashimi. Definitely satisfied expectations. - 8.5/10 5. Otoro Tuna Sashimi - Market price; reasonable price for the thick cut and quality. - Melts in your mouth, no fishy aftertaste. - Ordered after checking the fish quality from the sushi & sashimi combo. I had high expectations and the expectations were met. Great slices of fish. 10/10 ________________________________________ *Service: - Reservation was 6:30pm, but due to traffic, I arrived 15 minutes late. I had called in beforehand, which they kindly let us in despite the delay. Once seated and ordered at 7:00pm, pre-dinner sides, miso soup, and water were provided. Appetizers came out 10 minutes later, sashimi and sushi came out 10 minutes after the appetizers. Despite full seating, food came out fast, and of course with excellent plating and quality. Servers came around frequently to check on any needs. Overall, friendly servers, food quality is great. ________________________________________ * Atmosphere: - Overall very much satisfied. For the price of the items, quality and quantity was assured and tasted great. Restaurant was clean and quiet despite the full seating. Again, friendly servers and excellent food quality as well as fast serving time. Portland never really had great sushi/sashimi, but I definitely recommend coming here at least once, as the items I have ordered tasted great. Many liquor choices(wine, beer, sake, cocktails, etc.) and good choice of desserts as well. Would recommend if you dislike fish due to its fishiness since the sashimi and sushi here have no unpleasant aftertaste.

I get that it's 2026 but over $30 for what I got was a little steep. The food is high quality. The rice is not too heavy and it's seasoned well. I saw a couple reviews about the rice falling apart and I can definitely see that. I got the Tokyo roll. All the Ingredients sounded good so I thought why not. The whole definitely ends up is than the sum of the parts. The bonito is a bit much and all I ended up tasting was bonito. The tempura roll was good. Quality shrimp. Just a little high a price for what I got. It's very possible I have been too loyal to my steadies which have a very good value. I could see myself coming back on someone else's dime or if I was feeling extra saucy.

I never thought I would get good ramen outside of Japan. Service is usual for a Japanese restaurant. It's just so polite and friendly. It's bigger than the small ramen places that you find in Japan and States. It's cosy though.

On a crowded day for lunch, we sat down to see how Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya fared on this legendary Japanese dish. Though tempted by several options on the menu, we could not resist the calling of the Garlic Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen, which seemed to be the house favorite. Service was prompt and efficient, and they dished up a pair of bowls for us in hardly any time at all. Our assessment? Noodles. I've had ramen all over the place, and Kizuki wins top marks for its overall texture and consistency. If there's a better noodle in the world, I have yet to find it. It's got that perfect chew. Broth. The garlic tonkotsu broth is a winner. Obviously, you need to like garlic if you're going to like this broth, but it's a feature of the broth, and I didn't find it overwhelming. I didn't leave a single drop of it when I was done, which is all you need to know. Goodies. Kizuki includes high-quality ingredients that included a full soft-boiled egg, onions, bamboo shoots, pork chashu, seaweed (nori), and sprouts. I've been to some ramen shops that may have had more, and certainly some who have had less, but this is probably the best quality/quantity blend I've experienced. I might recommend splurging for the extra pork-belly, for those who are protein inclined, but still, top grades for the goodies. Kizuki is an expanding chain, and if other branches have the same formula, then they've done a great job preserving quality with a winning formula. While I only had the one menu item, it feels like the core principles wouldn't change much, so I'm pretty confident in a five-star for this place. Service was just as good as the food, despite it being a packed house. Well done, Kizuki! Arigato gozaimasu! いただきます!
