The service was fast plenty of seating during lunchtime and the pieces, although a little pricey were very generous. My favorite orders are the Cream o scallops, Salmon Nigiri, and Seared Salmon, HIGHLY RECOMMEND ORDERING THESE! My orders were made fresh by the sushi chef but you can always grab a plate off the belt. They gave really good portions of fish to rice ratio when I came in on a Thursday noon. I came in during Happy Hours, best value and highly affordable! $3.25 per order is hard to come by in this economy especially for the good quality they have. It's must go if you work from home to stop by during happy hours for this insane good deals! Staff were very attentive to me, always checking in on me and refilling my water. Heading back home from work, and....rrrrr...the tummy's rumblin' again. Time to grab a bite. I was in a sushi mood, and remembered there's a Sushi Chiyo just a mile off 26 down Cedar Hills, so a quick detour had me there at around 2:00 on a Friday afternoon. Never been to this location before; the place is pretty dead at that time, plenty of seating available. Bonus: it was happy hour (roughly 2-3:30pm) so all plates were at a discount. They mostly had rolls going by, and given I'm not much a fan of mayo, spicy mayo, or crunchy bits messing up my fish, I opted to order a couple Nigiri selections (salmon, mackerel). In a couple minutes the chef handed me my plates and...wow..that's some generously-sized nigiri! (See photo--it's almost as long as my hand). These were almost "two-biters" and that's just the way I like it. Rice was mildly seasoned and was cooked just fine. Fish tasted exactly how it was supposed to. I've hit a LOT of conveyor-belt sushi places. Most are unimpressive, with high prices and pinky-length sushi bites, leading to high piles of plates stacked just to fill the tummy and an empty wallet as your only consolation for visiting. Some have techno-gimmicks like touch-screen ordering and landfill-filling toy prizes for eating x number of plates. Others just have nothing at all to offer. Not here. I managed 4 generously-sized plates of Nigiri and one roll of some kind and headed out very nicely satisfied for $17 including tip which is just ridonculously low for the amount I ate. Smiled all the way home to Forest Grove. Definitely adding Sushi Chiyo into my rotation when I'm in the area; while this isn't sit-down omakase-quality sushi, it's way up there in the ranks as conveyor-sushi places go. read more

(Sorry if that tripped the algorithm and brought you here looking for a buffet, to be honest that's what I was doing) this sort of factors into the experience. I don't track sushi very often. My kid says he doesn't like it and financially, I am ok with that. So I don't really know what a good price is for it these days. It seemed reasonable. I thought I came at a high traffic hour but the selections were really sparse. I got my old steadies. The krab salad was a little dense. Still edible but not my favorite. I had ordered a few but the ones on the track were a little dry. The seaweed was really thin. Like definitely a lower quality. The rice had adequate seasoning but it was so heavy. Our sushi all tasted very good and fresh, for the most part (the first roll I grabbed was a little too warm for my liking, which threw me off a bit). Top notch sushi!! When it comes to raw fish, some of us are a little bit more skeptical. I am one of those. When you walk in the place is vibrant it screams Northwest and Portland. When you start looking at the sushi available, the fish is bright brilliant all the colors you want to see when it comes to fresh. Salmon is Pacific delicious, tuna bright, red, beautiful coloring. We have been in to Sushi Chiyo twice a long time back and it was ok, so when we ordered sushi late one night as a cheer up situation we figured it would be ok again. Other sushi places that were close were not open for delivery. And it was. Just ok. Not amazing. Calamari through Door Dash is probably never a good idea. It was kinda cool ie cold. And the pieces were not all totally coated in batter. I will eat squid but I do not wanna see it lol. j/k. We had a variety of nigiri, the sake was my very favorite. It was cold and fresh and the rice was good. The unagi nigiri seemed off like way too soaked in sauce. It had hard rice. The inari was wet and also had hard rice inside. I shouldn't get it anywhere but Uwajimaya anymore. Theirs is perfection. Some of the rolls were not what we ordered. My kid likes California roll but not with raw salmon on top, so it was totally not chosen that way, but that's what we got, and two of them! I ate that and it was good but kid was disappointed. I think when they are out of stuff they just throw in what they have and that does not always work well for picky palates like my kid's. California roll, cooked salmon yes. Fine. Raw salmon is a big nope. Kid did enjoy their Vegas roll and tamago. The sesame balls were rock hard and there was no saving them. Sad. Anyway. Cedar hills has a great collective of eateries but Sushi Chiyo does not make the list of go to spots. Don't go, Not even if you're starving. Cheap ingredients and sparsely available fish. The same three ingredients of fake crab, spicy mayo and tempura flakes with cucumber were remixed into a variety of repetitive flavors. No tuna no salmon or hamachi no unagi. Barely any avocado. Food costs are rising but this shouldn't be passed onto customers especially at a $3.99-$5+ cost per plate. The udon was an offense to any Japanese foodie. Over boiled noodles slopped into a bland dashi. I watched the kitchen chefs eating at the end of the bar as I was trying to stomach the udon. They enjoyed their home cooked food with corn on the cob because the food in house is just unappetizing. The calamari arrived over fried to the point the squid was burnt and stringy. The sushi rolls on the belt had no variety. Fake crab inside or pressed on top over the roll that was it. It's not even mixed with kewpie like sushi land used to do. So sad the execution and quality are offensive to any sushi chef. Less than 5 plates between two people and the bill soared to nearly $40. They've been in business for 7 years. I can't imagine who's been eating here and actually calling it good. The workers are from China (their ethnicity isn't the reason the food sucks). It's the management fault for their food cost cutting and poor training. Smashed rolls and dry rice lacking any flavor or resemblance to actual sushi. I'm a budget cooked sushi guy. House and California rolls are my thing. This place has a lot more options than Sushi Zen, which is my typical place. But it's more expensive. Great place for casual sushi. I love coming here because the portions are worth your dollar. One of my favorite servers is a lady who usually giggles after she talks, she's always so sweet & kind. Service is very fast as well. You can either grab from the belt or order off the menu. There usually isnt a wait time if you walk in. YUM! Wow, I am really, really surprised at how GREAT this sushi was given its conveyor belt and reviews on Yelp aren't as great. I took a chance because the DoorDash reviews were really good. SO glad I did! I'm kind of a snob with sushi - I notice little details and especially with fish, if it isn't the freshest stuff you can always tell. This sushi was FRESH and well made. My ONLY small complaint is the rice was a little bit more crumbly than preferred, and the edamame was a little wilted and not as tough as I'd like but these were very small things. We ordered sashimi, tuna, California rolls, seared ahi tuna with cucumber salad, and several other rolls. They were all totally delicious, the sashimi and salmon texture and taste was incredibly good. My husband and I were very pleased! After my daughter completed 3 events, over 3 and 1/2 hours, she needed some replenishment. Sure she had snacks, but that kept her at a baseline. She was hungry for real food. I had attempted to take her to Sushi Chiyo after one of her art classes, but she refused to believe the location on Sandy Blvd was the same restaurant. Luckily I discovered the location on Cedar Hills Blvd. She had been here before but it was my first time. The first thing I noticed was the modern look of the restaurant. It wasn't super fancy, but it looked much cleaner than Sushi Mioga. Secondly I noticed that the prices seemed to be a little less as well. Between us we got 7 plates and it worked out to about $17.50. In usually just get water when I eat sushi, but after I inspected the menu a little closer, I observed that fountain drinks have free refills. This was another plus. My husband and I usually love this place and we come here all the time during the day but one day we wanted sushi really late and we got here around 9:15pm. We did understand that they closed at 10 but the moment we walked in it seemed as if they were closed already and we felt very unwelcomed. We had even ordered udon for our kids but weren't served it. They didn't say anything about not making it but we sat there for about 20 minutes and it still didn't come out so we eventually just called it a loss. Before we even finished our food they had already given us our check. Came on a Friday at 1:30pm for their happy hour. Restaurant was only around 20% occupied. Staff was pretty attentive and asked me a couple of times what I wanted to order, and I ordered 7 items (listed below in random order): - Chiyo roll: tasted pretty good, shrimp a little stale - Yoko roll (not pictured): also pretty good - Poke tuna: not bad, lightly seasoned, tuna was decently fresh, no off tastes - Eel (unagi): not bad, pretty standard - Seared salmon: good char flavor, my favorite, I ordered 2 of these - Yellowtail: really stringy and sinewy and very hard to chew, you can tell from the photo that it looks very off, would not recommend One thing to note is that the rice here is a little on the hard side, and it looked like medium grain rice more common in China, not the short grain rice used for sushi. Most of the fish was decent quality - with the notable exception of the yellow tail, which is too bad, because yellowtail is my favorite. I generally stick to cooked/semi-cooked fish at conveyor belt sushi places anyway because I don't trust the fish, but this place seemed decent and I might try more raw fish next time. For happy hour of $3 each, I had 7 plates of sushi for $21 (before tip) and I was stuffed. Pretty good price/quantity ratio in these days of price inflation, especially for a sushi restaurant. I don't recommend ordering at this location. We placed an order for takeout/pickup through Sushi Chiyo's website, which is done through a website named "Mealkeyway." We were quoted a 25-minute pickup time from time of order. We arrived at the estimated time and were told that the service was experiencing delays (on what I assumed to be a relatively off-time, Tuesday at 5:40 PM). There were many customers who were similarly waiting for their pickup orders. Unfortunately, the conveyor belt was also empty due to this backup, which I imagine would be disappointing for anyone dining at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. After waiting for an additional 30 minutes after the quoted ETA, we were told that the order would be another 15 minutes. Because we had a puppy at home, we requested a refund, but were told we had to do it online. After calling Mealkeyway customer service, we were told that Sushi Chiyo had to provide the refund. Unfortunately, it seems that we'll need to pursue a chargeback through our credit card company instead. read more
