My first impression of the place was that it's really simple. There's not much décor or seating to look at. There are a couple of tables, but not enough for a big group. This place gives the feeling of a more to-go delivery type of place. Right behind the cashiers is their menu on the wall with at least 24 different specialty rolls. There was only one table there when I went, one cashier, one chef. My husband and I decided to take some sushi to go. We ordered 2 regular rolls and 4 specialty rolls. It came out to be around in the $40's. I have to say the prices are pretty cheap. $3.95 - $4.95 for regular rolls and $7.95 for the specialty rolls. They either come in anywhere from 6-8 pieces. They're not small, but then they're not big either. Rice to sushi ratio is ok. We ordered a spicy tuna roll and a Philadelphia roll. (these were avg as well) As far as specialty rolls we got the hot mama roll, princess roll, rainbow roll, and the dragon roll. FYI, they use all imitation crab meat. There wasn't much uniqueness about these rolls, but my husband and I did like the topping on the hot mama roll. Overall, it's a cheap place for average sushi rolls. They took at least 30 minutes to fulfill our order. I felt bad because there was a table of 4 waiting on theirs after us. But with only 2 people working, I guess you can't really rush it. Finally! I had my first visit to this newest Sushi Go restaurant in ALLEN on Stacy Rd. just west of Central (Hwy 75) and before Lake Forest. We were at the McKinney Sushi Go when we first learned about this newest location, a week before this location's official opening. A+ for cleanliness! The same menu for DELICIOUS sushi rolls (order from their Special menu while they are on special for $7.95). On this visit, I ordered two special rolls: an 'Angry Wife' & 'Rainbow' and then topped it off with their Bulgogi Bowl (new fusion bowl). Sushi Go was delicious! They're very friendly and fast. I ordered the Shrimp Lovers Roll, Volcano Roll (my fave!) and Hot Mama Roll (the fish on top was excellent). The value and taste are fantastic. My husband and I frequent Sushi-Go often, and we are never disappointed. Fairly priced sushi, both traditional and specialty rolls, and they are made to order. I suggest if you are in a hurry to call your order ahead, as it does take some time for them to make your order. It is well worth it though, because the sushi is delicious and made fresh! My favorite is the avocado roll, very simple, but delicious. The Alaskan roll is great if you like salmon, and is one of their specialties without cream cheese or mayonnaise, if you want to avoid dairy. It is really delicious. The crunch roll is also really delicious if you're looking for a more dressed up roll. My husband loves their sushi bowl, which is huge and very filling. It almost like a California roll and a Philadelphia roll mixed together in a bowl. The edamame is also a great choice for starters. The owners are very friendly and put a lot of care and effort into their sushi and into their customers. I highly recommend eating here. read more

This is our new go-to sushi place!! The sushi chef was so helpful and friendly helping me understand their menu and popular rolls. We ended up getting a sushi bowl, crunch roll, and red river roll. The sushi bowl was basically an ahi tower from other restaurants but in a bowl and SO good. The prices were really reasonable as well! An interesting thing they use is beet powder, making their rice pink, which added a touch of sweetness. Great food, fast and friendly service, and very reasonable prices! read more

My boyfriend and I usually go to Sushi Go in Plano, but we went to the one in Allen last night bc we were in the area. Everything was awesome as usual- great quality and great prices! The reason I'm writing this review is that the man who was making the sushi offered us free udon soup samples! It was the perfect thing to pair with sushi and so kind, and the samples were a good size, too! I definitely recommend Sushi Go. read more

I loved my experience here. Was in the area and was craving some rolls. Al their rolls are SO GOOD! You can really taste the love. Also, it's so different because their rice is made with some beetroot. I'm not used to pink rice, but always try everything twice, right? It honestly doesn't taste different at all, but it's that much more aesthetically pleasing. BUT, even though the rice doesn't taste any different from normal rice, the rolls were ON POINT. Usually when I go to sushi places I don't get the rolls, but because this place specializes in rolls, they are AMAZING. The rice bowls were good too. I had the daji bowl, and the sauce it comes with is to die for. The owners are awesome! Super friendly, and they'll always help you out if you're having a hard time choosing what to order. If you're ever craving some sushi for lunch or don't have time to cook dinner, call in an order and it'll be ready when it gets there! This place is awesome you should definitely go and check it out! You won't be disappointed and I guarantee the great service and tasty food will have you coming back for more. If I worked/lived in the area I would obviously be a regular. But for now, I'm okay with stopping by whenever I'm in the area. read more

This is my first time visiting this location. I usually go to the location on McKinney Ranch Parkway. This location is great too! Keeping in mind that it's not a cloth napkin, full service, sushi restaurant... it's the best cheap sushi I've had. It's clean, fast, inexpensive, and the food is good. read more

Fantastic sushi on offer here at Sushi Go. We had a plate of 3 different types of sushi and they all were delicious. The unique thing about the sushi at this place is that the rice is colored red which comes from a beetroot extract. This gives the sushi a very unique look. Looks like it is family run with the mom, pop and daughter working at the place which is great. We enjoyed the service and look of the place and will go back if we are in the area for more Sushi Go. read more

S uch a great deal is hard to find! U fill up on loads of sushi for only 9.99?! S onethings gotta give or maybe it's a lie H owever a single bite told me all I need to know I found good sushi for a price that's low low G reat quality, at these prices is a novelty O h my god did you know they do delivery?! The selection is quite overwhelming with some unique choices, all of them tasty and fresh! I did not get any crappy rice action, it was all cooked perfectly and had the vinegar thing going on. They also sell Korean snack foods which is pretty damn cool, as it's like visiting one of the most fun sections in H Mart while you go for sushi! The staff was extremely accommodating I saw a couple with a child come in the child spilled his juice all over the flow while the parents were contemplating what to order, before the couple could say a single word one of the staff members rushed to clean it right up! They weren't even paying customers yet as they hadn't actually placed an order! The parents apologized profusely but the manager said "He's a child he's supposed to do that!" That's what I call service, and good attitude! Awesome place! read more

The crabby fries had some nasty smell, I couldn't eat them the smell was strong. The volcano roll tasted raw and it's suppose to be baked, the rice was falling off the roll. I did call and complain, the girl was very sweet and apologetic so giving them 3 star for it. read more

Huge portion sizes, made freshly before your eyes (so don't be in a hurry!), and very friendly family-run place! I got the Hot Mama and the Caterpillar rolls! Both delicious but the flavor of the Hot Mama was outstanding! The pink rice may throw some folks off but the concept of the beet juice benefits is novel. We really enjoyed their sushi when it at 11 and made a Togo order, got a avocado and crunch roll, the beetroot rice is very nice and not offered by other sushi places around. If Sushi Go is supposed to be a quick "on the go" type place, then they prob need to pick up the pace. We've ordered sushi from here twice now, and while the sushi is delicious (fresh and made-to-order) the wait time is just painfully (painfully) slow. read more

HOWEVER, that recently changed thanks to a new appointment we've recently had change our family schedule, where we end up nearby on certain days, and we've decided to make it a habit to come back by here since it used to be our literal favorite Hibachi spot. Turns out - it still is! It definitely still doesn't get nearly as much attention as it should, but as other Hibachi restaurants have started switching to cheaper menu options like the dreaded switch from the amazing MUSTARD dipping sauce I LOVE, to the horrible white goo that some goober called "Yum Yum" sauce (should be called "Yuck Yuck" in my opinion), Nosoo kept the mustard sauce! They also still have the delicious subtle ultra-thinly-sliced mushroom or "Suimono" soup and didn't switch to cheap overly salty tofu-riddled yellow broth like - again - most other competing local Hibachi restaurants seem to have done. In closing, I'm glad Nosoo is still there, still yummy, and still providing the best overall Hibachi menu out there all these years later. TL;DR - THEY STILL USE THE SUPERIOR MUSTARD DIPPING SAUCE AND NOT THE "YUM YUM" GARBAGE!

The hibachi is flavorful and cooked perfectly, and the sushi is always high quality, clean-tasting, and expertly crafted. You can tell they take pride in their ingredients and presentation. The staff is incredible. Super friendly, attentive, and genuinely accommodating. They go above and beyond to make sure guests are taken care of. If you show up with patience and basic decency during peak times, you'll be treated exceptionally well. As for the 1-star reviews posted over Valentine's Day weekend, those lack credibility. Anyone with common sense knows that Valentine's Day is one of the busiest weekends of the year for hibachi restaurants /anywhere/. Judging a restaurant solely on an extreme holiday rush ignores what they consistently deliver the rest of the year. If you want fresh sushi, great hibachi, and a welcoming atmosphere, this place absolutely delivers. Highly recommend through and through.

I believe Heian, at the time of this review, is still the only handroll bar in McKinney. So they have this advantage going for them.
