Literally no English spoken by our server so I couldn't even get her to understand that I want cucumber in my avocado roll . Beef teriyaki tasted like mushroom soup , weird Unidentified green spots all over my shrimp tempura , miso soup was terrible . To use the bathroom you have to take a key with a map drawn on the keychain in broken English only around the building and through the square into an absolutely terrifying corridor (not labeled) with random doors "it literally felt like a horror movie" The only thing good was the little Japanese candy they gave us as we paid the bill . Their menu has lots of pictures of rolls which is helpful for deciding what to order!. Reasonably priced - hard to find salmon avo roll under $6 these days. Have a weekly special menu by the cashier but both items were already sold out at 5:45p on a Tues. Good ratio rice to filling. Rolls held together well. Everything looked wonderful but I was intrigued by their Teishoku sets, so I got the Teishoku ocean and salmon avo roll. The Teishoku ocean set came with: Carrot puree vinaigrette radish Cold tofu which was a bit sour Ponzu black sesame broccoli Truffle edamame - super yummy Diced carrots and cucumbers - I dipped these in the leftover broccoli sauce Rice- well seasoned and yummy Super filling The rice used for the salmon avo roll was seasoned with a brownish vinegar which gave it a more rustic look that I enjoyed. I'll definitely be back!

The niche of this place is they used different color of rice, it's slightly pink but tastes just as the normal sushi rice. Apparently it's mixed with different kind of vinegar when mixing the rice. The sashimis are super fresh, salmon toro and tuna toro are both delicious. The shrimp tempura was freshly cooked, very crunchy. Salmon Oshi was nicely seared on the top. If I have to pick, the salmon toro sashimi was my favorite. The service was standard and friendly. They informed us about the last calls, and wasn't rushing us out when it was time to close. The price is reasonable and affordable. Overall, I've had a great experience with this place. when I'm around this area, I will come back and visit again.

My meal was simple but still got to try new stuff that I hadn't tried before. I went Vegan for this meal. Ordered a Kanpyo roll, one piece of Avocado Nigiri, one piece of Asparagus Nigiri, and a miso soup. My friend ordered a Nigiri Sushi Lunch Box special. Kanpyo roll and Asparagus Nigiri were both new to me. Don't see either of them on restaurant menus much, if ever. I enjoyed them both and while I have always enjoyed the taste of tuna or salmon sushi (and all the other raw fishes that are served in Japanese restaurants), I really didn't miss the fish at all. Very much enjoyed my meal here, and so happy to see these Vegan options on the menu!

This place was a great surprise!!…read more Met up with someone locally and needed somewhere to eat. A quick search (on Yelp of course) brought us here. The inside is very small (only 3-4 tables) but very clean. Looks like they have one table outside if you're interested. The chef and host were super friendly. Food came out lightning quick and was very fresh. I had the spicy combo and it was the right mix of spice - not so spicy you face melts but just enough. Serving sizes are pretty generous and good value. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area. It's a bit to miss sushi joint.

It's in the residential area on Ewen where Queens hotel is. Free parking along the street. I have been here a few times. It's Korean Japanese food. Besides sushi, you can also get tteokbokki and Korean fried chicken. I also spied wonton soup on the menu, the only Chinese dish. I have tried the lunch bento which is pretty good. My favorite is the double spicy tuna roll. Their futomaki roll is more like the house roll at other sushi places. Lots of ingredients in it, including tuna and salmon. If you live in the QB area, this is the nearest place to get your Japanese food fix. Otherwise it's either driving into Richmond or crossing the bridge to New West downtown.

The space is small and airy, nicely decorated. The food comes really quick. Their menu has sushi, rice bowls and udons. It's a small menu but everything is good. I had the Salmon Zuke. Raw salmon, 6-7 pieces each one quite substantial, laid on top of rice dome, with egg yolk on top of volcano, and pickled onions. I LOVE the combo of egg yolk and pickled onions - I haven't had this before and the flavour really really works. It leaves a delightful aftertaste in my mouth too. It's not that much food but really really good. Also has a piece of deep fried seaweed or something which really complements the rice. My wife's truffle mushroom udon looks like a work of art. The garnish in the middle was pretty impressive and I tasted the sauce which was good. Also tried a little of the pork miso. Nice flavours and the crispy garnish really works. For a little hole in the wall place at bottom of train station this place's bowls and udons hit far above the price in quality. Very impressive place.

They're known as Sushi Hinode now…read more I've visited this place on two separate occasions in different years. Every time, it has made me (and my partner) sick. This visit, I just got three things: a spicy California roll, an avocado roll, and miso soup. The avocado in both rolls was not fresh, and neither were the wasabi and ginger. The miso soup was way saltier than needed. I would give them one star, but the tea was good, the servers were working hard, and the service was fast. Although that might not be a good thing for a sushi restaurant and all lol So I'm giving them two stars. (Sorry if that's harsh) ~ Tobias H.

We tried more of their cooked dishes and their special sushi didn't meet expectations. The salmon used in the sushi roll was off and I wished they created the roll with smoked salmon instead. Their unagi sauce didn't taste good and I likely would not recommend their sushi rolls with raw fish or sashimi for takeout. However, their hours of operation with no breaks and happy hour menu still make them a candidate for drinks and light bite. Perhaps stick to ordering items that they do well such as their deep fried poach egg dish.
