I went here with a friend per her Japanese friend's suggestion. It was delic! I felt the prices, fish, offerings were comparable to other quality sushi restaurants. We shared the edamame (free with checkin!) I got the sashimi deluxe which was a great price for good sized, 18 pieces of fish. Everything was good and fresh. My gf, who doesn't eat sushi much, got a couple rolls which were quite sizable and she enjoyed them. We shared red bean tempura ice cream. My gf's first time trying red bean. Oh YUM. My partner and I have driven by this place a few times and we kept saying we wanted to try it out, so when we found ourselves without dinner plans, we decided it was high time we tried this place out! The parking can be a bit challenging if there is a large crowd. Thankfully it was not a huge crowd. Sushi Basho shares the location with Toast, but they don't seem to have the same hours, so everyone wins. We got a lovely booth (lots of booth seating, which is a plus in my book as I like booths) and we were greeted quickly with menus and drinks. The food was delicious. There are so many rolls to choose from! We chose 5 rolls and some sashimi and nigiri, and by the time we were done with the food we were both very full. It's not the best sushi but it's also not the worst. I take my kids here a lot. The kids like the fish tanks. The drinks are pretty cheep and the service isn't terrible. It's not Sushi Den and the cuts aren't the best in town but it's pretty tasty most times. It's quick and affordable. read more

Had a good time at a happy hour a while back, but our recent experience was enough to never come back. We ordered a variety of nigiri, sashimi, and sushi for a table of 6. We watched everyone around us eat while we waited for a complete hour. When we decided to finally call it and go elsewhere, our waitress rushed to grab a sushi boat off the bar that had been sitting there stagnant the entire time. It was if they had been just placing the sushi scraps on our boat the entire time while they made smaller plates. We won't be coming back to this establishment. read more

I don't eat sushi often, but I've loved every piece I've ever tried, from the more adventurous sashimi (fresh raw fish) to you-can-never-go-wrong-with-rolls - enter cream cheese, rice and a salty seaweed wrap. My mom, my son and I wandered into Sushi Basho - near the Melting Pot on the outskirts of downtown Littleton. Its modest exterior opens into a classy interior, greeted by a vibrant aquarium and a masked, very friendly staff, the ceiling adorned with a rainbow of Japanese lantern-type lights and traditional Japanese decor on surfaces throughout. Though traditional elements dotted the space, the atmosphere felt futuristic and kind of other-worldly. And on to the food and drink! We went in for a late lunch/early dinner, so we missed any food-rush times; it was just us 3 in the dining room. The delicacies came out quick and were presented so beautifully. We started with the crispy spring rolls and gyoza (pan-fried dumplings). So much yum! The flavors and the textures complemented one another perfectly. As our main course, we opted to share a few different rolls to keep it simple the always-tasty California Roll, Philadelphia Roll, another roll, I forgot which...but my favorite, and I highly recommend is the Osaka Roll - centered with tempura shrimp, cucumber surrounded by seared white tuna and mayo - ooooh heaven in the mouth! While saki is often the beverage of choice, washing down the savory goodness with the Japanese soda's carbonated light sweetness is another tasty alternative - choose from melon, strawberry, orange or original - pop the little glass ball down and enjoy the real sugar, tangy, bubbly beverage. Our server was prompt, not invasive, upbeat, and kind - you could feel the smile hidden under his mask. I highly recommend this side-of-the-road, sushi stop for an entirely fantastic experience! Next time, I'll be more adventurous and step away from my go-to; and maybe take more photos - I have no doubt the experience will be the same. read more

This place is very outdated. If you don't care about the atmosphere, then you definitely won't mind. Restaurant was empty but service was still slow. Ordered the house special, fish was cooked perfectly. Sushi was just okay. Sushi rice ratio was off compared to other sushi places (too much rice, see pictures). When I took a bite, everything fell off. Good sushi, and its rice, would not be falling off into pieces. Therefore, I like it with no rice. Overall, food was good. Service was slow. read more

I was test drove in Broadway and hunger for sashimi at 2pm. I wasn't impressed with the environment when I walked in, some sort out dated. But they seem having regular and happy customers when I saw them. I ordered chirashi which was not traditional that I ever had. Rice could be warmer, but fish and wasabi is good. Then I ordered sweet shrimp sashimi. It was not so sweet and dressing on the fried head is not compatible with the head. I would not go back for sure. read more

I think I am going to have to be a regular at this place. So, I have had this craving for sushi all week. And, I just started working at a new facility, so I thought I'd check out Yelp for the closest sashimi. Sushi Basho was just up the street so I headed over. I'm so glad I did! I snagged a couple of lunches to go for a co-worker and myself. Feeling adventurous, I ordered the "sushi lunch" and the "sashimi lunch" which came with no detail/description on the menu. For $11 plus tip I got about an ounce each of salmon, yellowtail, tuna & crab sashimi as well as salad and soup. That is a pretty awesome deal and I am now fat and happy :) They also had a fantastic lunch deal for roll lovers. You pick 2 or 3 rolls from a list of 20 (the usual suspects with a few interesting ones like "East Maki") with soup & salad for $8 ($10 for 3 rolls). The restaurant itself is small. The tables are a bit close together, so I don't think I'll be taking a date here. But, there is a nice sushi bar for eating solo and watching the chefs do their magic. The restaurant was pretty empty when I dropped in just before noon, but if you ever have to wait for a table, there is a nice little sake bar to keep you occupied. Had the sashimi lunch special. The hot and sour soup was delicious. The sashimi was ok. Tuna was definitely sliced the wrong way and you had to chew threw the white parts. We came for dinner on a Saturday night using a $30 Colorado's Best Deals coupon. They were located on West Bowles Ave in Littleton near The Melting Pot. After reading the Yelp reviews, I made sure we came early. The small private parking lot was pretty empty when we went in, but totally full with cars waiting when we left. They need a website with a menu. They do have a Facebook page, but it's not very up to date. They have a nice color take out menu. The 4 rolls of sushi arrived on a large oval platter. Friend Roll ($11): 8 pieces of shrimp tempura inside covered with avocado, snow crab and eel sauce. It was very pretty. It looked like it was pressed in a mold to make it the square shape. Philadelphia Roll ($5): 5 pieces of just salmon and cream cheese. No sesame seeds or cucumber. Very plain, no crunch. I would not order this roll again. Salmon Skin Roll ($5): 5 large pieces of deep fried salmon skin, cucumber, scallion and tobiko with seaweed on the outside drizzled with eel sauce. Spider Roll ($11): 8 pieces of soft shell crab, crabmeat, cucumber and avocado topped with tobiko and house special sauce. I liked this roll. Hot tea ($2.50) was served in a ceramic cup and too hot to hold. We were served by about 4-5 different employees. Service was adequate and efficient. We probably won't be back since it is quite a drive for us and there are better places closer to us. read more

I've been meaning to give this place a try and took the opportunity to order lunch via GrubHub. I ordered New Style Yellowtail Sashimi, a Yazu Hama roll and a Kobe beef roll. Cost for the meal, delivery fee, and tip was about $50. Delivery was fast and the order was accurate. Hot foods were warm and the cold foods were cool. Flavors were delicious all around, especially the Yazu Hama roll (a spicy SW shrimp tempura number) which complemented the sashimi nicely. My one nit: in both the sashimi and Yazu roll, the fish was sliced about twice as thick as necessary. I prefer thinner, delicate slices where the fish almost melts into the mouth. Bottom line: I would return to Sushi Basho and recommend them to friends. read more

You know a sushi place sucks when you have to ask for soy sauce AFTER they bring the sushi or when you've ordered an appetizer within the first 4 minutes of being seated and 40 mins later you have to remind them you ordered it. Then they bring it, 10 mins later only to say, sorry, we had to cook the rice. Man, that was awful. There's a layer of scum on all the walls, especially the bathroom. Eww. The place is not clean. Finally, the sushi came 50 mins later. Btw- there were 5, 5 sushi chefs behind the counter, all working hard. The place was not that full - says to me they're a poorly run joint. What a mess. Nigiri is good quality w/ an even fish to rice ratio. Happy hour has them down to $1 a piece but only if you sit in. Hard to beat that! I recommend the Wasabi Roll(minus the asparagus) if you are looking for something cooked/fried. And the Chirashi Bowl, Happy Roll, and Rainbow Roll if you want a wider range of fish. There is outside patio, so you know you will be madly in love. The rolls look basic, but there's nothing basic of the taste. More than the look, the sushi is fresh out of kitchen and not bland. Not moldy and not lame. The Pink Lady Roll was very well put together and well made. The dynamite dish is hard to impress me with, but I knew Sushi Basho could do it. Spicy, flavorful, and overall very orange like the way I like it. Very tangy! The Yellowtail is by far the most important part because they succeed in perfecting the shape, form and texture of the meal. It is nothing more than delectable art. Thank goodness for that. Loved this place. Interior is nice but nothing special just your standard strip mall kind of place. Staff is friendly and professional - party of 11 so a bit more chaotic than a usual table but they handled very well. Everything we ordered was just great, no room for complaint there. Wait time for the massive amount of sushi and sashimi we ordered was 15-20 minutes, those chefs were flying and delivered perfectly - no sloppy/ugly rolls or fish, everything looked perfect and tasted as good as they looked. The bill for all 11 of us including drinks and a ton of food was surprising in a very good way. Most of us came from 30 minutes away for a special occasion but I will say that if I lived nearby this restaurant would be a go to place for me and my crew. read more

This was not the best experience I've had in a sushi store. The store took some time to get the food ready because it's been half an hour and we've only gotten one thing when we ordered a lot. And I find that kind of weird because we were literally the only two people that was in the restaurant. We also found a plate that was still very dirty as it can be seen by bare eyes. And I think they used aged rice in their sushi because I can taste it. They were also missing stuff on their menu and I think they should just tell you a head of time if they were missing it. Because we waited for 45 minutes and then they tell us it's sold out. I'm starting to question what they have been doing for the past 45 minutes because how do you not realize that when there are only two customer in their restaurant? We were so excited about the fried squid because it looked really good on the menu but turns out that they didn't even have it. I wasn't too satisfied with this experience but overall I would recommend it if you are having a shorter budget for your meal. The rolls are always made with love and attention to detail. The King Roll and Queen Roll are two of our favorites. I must admit, this place surprised me! I keep doing this thing lately: driving around in my car totally starving, and pulling over at the first restaurant that looks interesting. I know there's that cool Yelp app and all, but sometimes I like just random stops in the offchance I find a little hidden gem. Right? (This usually works 2/3 of the time, btw.) Anyhoo, I stopped in at Sushi Basho with my crazy.sexy.cool dinner date this week, and ended up being pretty darn happy. First off, they were trying a new kind of sake - coconut lemongrass - and were giving free samples. That's always good in my book! It was especially strong and flavorful. They also serve the kind of seaweed salad I love - the little bright green stringy bits with a sweet, hot oil and sesame seeds - and the portion was sized just right. The sushi itself was small portions, but fresh. And I had one of the tastiest rolls that I can remember in a long time: spicy tuna topped with cliantro and roe. But I guess you really have to like cilantro to dig this roll. Staff was uberfriendly, but I thought it was pretty funny that one of the sushi chefs said he doesn't eat the sushi there. We met friend here sat night at 5pm for dinner. The wife of our friends doesn't do sushi, so she got the teriyaki chicken with the veggies. We started with miso soup and edamame. The hubby of the couple and myself and my hubby went to town ordering sushi! Our favorites included US Dream roll- tuna inside, tempura fried, Yummy Roll - seared tuna on the top, tempura tuna inside, Basho Roll - spicy tuna inside and on top. The fish was very fresh, the rice on the sushi was nice and small so it made it easier to eat more! The egg (tamago) was great and the inari was tasty. The wait staff was extremely attentive, my water was always full, and the food arrived very quickly! Sushi Basho is tucked away into a little corner, a corner that you could easily pass by. Don't! This is hands down the best sushi place I have been to in Colorado (and we seem to have some damn good ones here). It isn't the most romantic place in town but it is clean and inviting. The staff has always been friendly and they have a unique, changing menu of specialty rolls. The US Dream Roll is fantastic. Portions are generous and the price is on par with just about anywhere else you can go. I've never had a piece of fish that I felt wasn't fresh or up to my standards.
