California Roll and Chicago Roll

It's hard to believe that an obviously old Wendy's can offer up great sushi in the middle of farming country, but they do. My brothers and I ate here based on a recommendation from our cousin and we enjoyed it very much. All of the food that we had was very good, and the family/staff that runs it was very friendly and attentive.

Yes, it is in an old fast food restaurant - but the food is fantastic. Should have taken more pictures but it was SO GOOD. Couldn't stop eating. Will come back - and bring my friends and family.

Bento box. Chicken teriyaki shrimp tempura roll fried rice $9.99

Sushi Bar doesn't look like much on the outside, since it is an old Wendy's. But once you sit down and order the food is out of this world. And the lunch specials were a great deal. We were on our way to Clifty Falls for the day and was checking Yelp for a place with good reviews and lots of stars. So glad we stopped in. My husband ordered the 2 rolls special that came with soup or salad. He picked the spicy crab and a California roll and salad. I ordered the bento box with chicken teriyaki, fried rice and a shrimp tempura roll. It also came with miso soup and a salad. The only thing I didn't like was all of the onions under my chicken breast. I am not an onion eater. So I could have done without them. But everything else was great. And the food was beautiful! Since you eat with your eyes first, just look at the pictures. You will be hungry for sushi. If we are back in Madison Indiana we will go back. Great food nice staff and reasonably priced. Works for us!

I don't have a single complaint on this place! I love my sushi and theirs hits the spot!

This place looks like a hole in the wall and was a converted Wendy's. What it lacks on the outside it makes up in its sushi. We tried several of the sushi selections and it is about as good as what you can get in Indianapolis and had a lot of good flavors. They had a very large selection to choose from. We also enjoyed a plum wine and mochi with our diner which were also very good. If you are in the area visiting Madison or Clifty Falls.

Super fresh and yummy sushi and really affordable! We got a couple specialty rolls, the three roll combo and the sushi sashimi platter.

Samurai Sushi and Hibachi - Hot night roll

Samurai Sushi and Hibachi

I come here just for the sushi! I truly could not write enough about how delicious the sushi here…read moreis. I've been going to Samurai for date nights and friend dinners for years and every roll is huge and fresh, and I always have great service. Good sushi is hard to find in land locked Kentucky! Samurai must have great sources for their fish because the freshness is very apparent, every time I go. Favorite rolls: Mark's Roll, Happy Sunday, Texas Roll, Barbie's Favorite, Sakura Roll, and Midnight Roll but truthfully, you cannot go wrong. We heard the story of our favorite roll! The Mark's roll was named after a very kind soul that was a friend of the restaurant that sadly passed away. He loved spicy food and was the light of the room, so the fried jalalpeno and flaming plate make the perfect homage to him. The love and care Samurai has for their customers and the community is unmatched! Come cute with 15 people, or in your pajamas with your bestie. The atmosphere is very welcoming; casual but romantic still. Either way come ready to EAT!

I won't be back--and I wouldn't recommend it…read more I ordered their best available Cabernet . The first glass was good, I understand this is not a wine bar so no complaints. The second was completely off--overripe, heavy blackberry notes, clearly oxidized and not the same quality wine. This is what happens when a bottle has been open too long. When I pointed it out, instead of addressing it professionally, the server repeatedly insisted it was from the same bottle and argued with me. That's not just poor service--that's dismissive and borderline insulting. I wasn't trying to get out of paying. I explicitly said I would pay for the glass and not drink it--which I did. I left the full glass on the table. At that point, the appropriate response would have been to move on. Instead, the argument continued. For context, I spent 22 years in the wine and spirits industry. I know the difference--but frankly, anyone could have smelled and tasted how off that wine was. I still paid and tipped 20%, but the issue isn't the charge--it's the way this was handled. Arguing with a customer instead of listening is unacceptable. Do better.
