Had to be in town for family obligations. After attending the Puyallup state fair the whole day, I was in the mood for some healthy sushi. Looked up on Yelp and came up with this amazing find. Located in a non descript older strip mall, it doesn't look like much from the outside. The inside is very cozy. Kodie was our server. She was amazing. Very cordial and friendly. We ordered the deluxe sashimi and the tempura meal. I included a photo of the sashimi meal. And yes it does taste as amazing as it looks. The fish was very fresh and the cuts were amazing. As for the tempura, it too was very good. If you've eaten tempura as often as I have, you can quickly tell the difference between low quality and high quality batter. Generous portion sizes too. I've been here a few times with my husband, daughter, cousin and other family members. The restaurant is located off 39th Avenue across from Chik-fil-A and behind Mukja Korean Barbecue restaurant. Parking is limited in the front section of the restaurant. More parking at the left side of the building. The employees are nice and welcoming. The interior is clean, not so bright, slightly dark interior and comfortable vibe. Stopped in for a quick takeout order. I was immediately greeted and felt very welcome. I was struck by how clean and organized everything is. I liked that I could see how fresh the fish is while walking past the sushi bar. I ordered 2 sushi rolls and they had it ready to go in 12 minutes! While waiting, I was offered water and hard candies. The people who served me were both very friendly and polite. My first ever sushi experience was a pretty good one. I can't speak to what it should be, but I liked it. I had the rainbow sushi dish and it was basically what I expected. Visited on 8/3, the waitress was super friendly and helpful (hence the +1 star) but that's where the good part ends... The sushi was not fresh... ordered the delux sushi combo, chirashi, Ika salad, Ikura handroll etc.... some are very very fishy and soggy. We sent the Ikura back and told them it tasted unfresh, but the restaurant didn't do anything or say anything about it. I think if your customer is letting you know that there is something wrong with the food, the least you can do is to see what you can do to make it right. read more

Wow, I love this place!! Why? Well, the staff is super friendly and personable, the sushi is top quality, and the prices are fair. It doesn't get any better than that! The Ari salad is unique and super tasty so I definitely recommend giving it a try. Also, you cannot go wrong with just about any roll on the menu. My favorite happened to be kiss me Mucho, the lava roll, the ninja roll, and the crunch shrimp roll. There's another one with jalapeños, sriracha, and yellowtail but I can't remember what it is. My wife swears by their vegetable tempura and their miso too. I should know we have only ever ordered to go, and we always call ahead and then pick up our selves. The other two were OK, hubby did like the Heaven one with its slight sweetness, didn't really see or taste the tuna. The Spider was disappointing, no crab or seafood to be found in the roll other than inedible hard fried tempura shell at the ends, odd. Our server was sweet & attentive for most part, just at the end I tried to get her attention for nearly 5 mins. but she was standing behind a tall case and couldn't see me. Just ok, nothing else to describe besides MEH. I Saw the stellar Yelp reviews and decided to take my family here for my husbands bday dinner. We ordered 2 of the kids bento boxes, a deluxe sushi plate, a rockstar roll and a spicy scallop roll. None of them were bad by any means, just nothing great or special enough to write home to mom about. The service was good which was the silver lining of it all. They didn't have Umi which was why I went there & it's on the menu, so disappointing. Also, the Saba fish was dry, along with the not so fresh Spider roll.
