This is one of our favorite places. The recent interior upgrades just adds to the ambience. The service and food are always superb and the prices are very reasonable! I highly recommend it!!

Post spa and craving sushi we happened upon Jin Sushi. I sometimes struggle trying new sushi spots (so I'm not disappointed) but, wow am I excited I tried this place!! First of all Ashley, the host, greeted us warmly and patiently waited for us to look over the menu. We spent probably 15 minutes just staring at it because everything looked amazing. Then, once she was taking our order she enthusiastically told us about each roll and hyped up our orders. While we waited she asked if we wanted some miso soup, and brought us waters; it was incredibly welcoming and comforting. Finally, I got home and got to tuck in, the fish portions were perfect, the rice was tasty and the perfect texture, the flavors were a delight. It was all really fresh and so so good. I even had a couple leftovers and they were still good a day later!! We got takeout but the entire vibe of the restaurant is so cute, lots of options for food, great looking deals ($35 for two ramens AND California rolls & $5 apps!). I can't wait to go back for a date night.

Honestly the best sushi spot in Lakewood Tacoma and spanaway area don't go anywhere else but here fresh and a awesome vibes and service

Sunset Roll supposed to have tuna inside, it's there but super tiny.

Very kind employees. Clean environment. Took so long to get food even though the place was almost empty. A bit expensive especially when they skimp on the tuna (for real though I got a sunset roll and the tuna is so tiny I almost missed it. Look at my pic).. I'd come here again for sushi. We also tried the ramen. I didn't like it, better to go to zen or Kizuki for ramen.

Nigiri with special 3 kinds of toro

I went here with my husband and they had pretty solid nigiri. We ordered the toro/blue fin tuna special with 3 different kinds and the chef gave us extra pieces which was so nice! We also had salmon, yellow tail and unagi. It took a longer while to get our food but it was so good! It tasted really fresh and it wasn't a super busy day which was a plus. Planning to come here again!

Food is absolutely amazing Sushi was fresh and also delicious. Poke bowl was great. Service was great. Ambiance was very relaxing.

Nondescript storefront in a strip mall but the food is actually good! It was pretty slow when we went for dinner, so we were seated and attended to quickly. Sushi chef at the bar makes all the rolls to order. There are a bunch of seats at the bar to watch him work. Rolls are a good size and very tasty! Solid selection of rolls and appetizers. We got the salmon collar... so tender and melts in your mouth. I think our party of 2 could have been fine with 3 rolls instead of 4... we had leftovers to take home! Prices are average. They do have sake and beer here, including the beer tower!

Jin Special Roll. Radish and apple take the place of rice.

Back for lunch this week. Enjoyed the Miso w Langostines (honestly, the tiniest ever Cea dad tails I've EVER seen, but the bowl was surprisingly delicious and rich!!!) Sashimi salad was truly beautiful. Hotate sushi was singed with a torch and AMAZING. I was happy to see the chef very busy with call In orders and 6 tables full. He said this was unusual. Keep ordering and keep them Going! Great place!

First time dining here and I highly recommend it! We had three sushi rolls - One bake roll (I don't remember the name) but it was delicious, yellowtail roll and an albacore roll. The service was great! This will be our go to sushi restuarant from now on. Support our local businesses.

The wife and I went out today for lunch. We decided to stop by a new place and check it out. We were pleasantly surprised about the portion size and the price of this establishment. I would definitely recommend this place if you want some great sushi. To speak about the service might be a little tough since we were the only ones in there. So we were waited on and taken care of very well. The restaurant was very clean, from the table to the bathrooms. I have attached pictures of the place and the quality of the sushi. Hopefully this will entice you to check it out and give these business owners your business.

Spider roll. Baked saloon roll, and seaweed salad

Went here for dinner and ordered the baked salmon roll and spider roll. The baked salmon roll was pretty good but was falling apart alot. The spider roll was good. We also got the seaweed salad. The ambiance was nice. The inside was nice and open. We sat down in a booth. The service was nice and friendly.

Tiger roll, forever roll and spicy tuna tempura roll

This place is definitely a jem!! My wife and I came here for the second time and we just love the service, their hand crafted rolls. We ordered three different rolls and loved each one

Shares a parking lot in a little strip so it's easy to access. Beware they might have some odd hours since one time I came around 2-3 and it was still closed for lunch even though the hours didn't match the sign. Nothing extraordinary or bad to say on the food and service. Some of the tables are nicer seating than others in this restaurant. I think the prices are reasonable and the sushi was pretty good. They have a very large menu with great selections of food and sushi!

The pickled radish in the center was a nice touch.

The young girl working also gave me an orange slice which I think was just her being friendly. She and the older couple making the food were so friendly and kind. The place was super welcoming, and you can tell right away the fish is fresh. They started us off with miso soup and edamame on the house, which was such a nice touch. We ordered the Super Dragon Roll and the Spider Roll--both were great. We also tried the Super Crunch, which was just okay compared to the rainbow Roll. The real surprise though? The green mussels. Absolutely divine. To top it all off, they brought us peeled orange slices at the end, and it was the perfect, refreshing finish to the meal. Came in for a quick lunch, left very full and very happy. Will definitely be back if we are ever in Seattle again.

(FYI, for weekends and holidays, you'll be charged the dinner price all day). Since it was our first time, our server kindly explained how the ordering system works. You place your sushi orders through one phone with a limit of 15 items every 15 minutes. Drinks and refills are recommended to be ordered directly through your server so they don't take up item slots. Even if you order less than 15 items, you still wait the 15 minutes before placing another round. It sounds a little confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple! One of the cutest parts of the experience was having our food delivered by a little robot server with a cat face. Just make sure to grab the food from the section glowing blue so you don't accidentally take another table's order. Super fun and honestly memorable! By the time we were getting full, my family joked that the cat face looked menacing, because we were hoping no more food would be brought to our table lol. The orders don't all arrive at the same time and some can be delayed, so I'd suggest somewhat trying to keep track of your orders if you don't want to go overboard. The sashimi was delicious and the portions are HUGE, so definitely pace yourself because they do charge for leftovers. My son got a little too excited and overordered, so we ended up paying the leftover fee. However, I was genuinely impressed that Sumo Sushi actually allows you to take leftovers home, even with the fee included. I mean, you'll have to pay the fee either way, but I've never been to an AYCE sushi restaurant that allowed leftovers as takeout before. I really respect how serious they are about reducing food waste. They also have a small buffet section you can grab already prepared/cooked food from while waiting for your sushi orders. My absolute favorites were the miso soup, seafood boil(?), and the tempura fish that lives rent free in my head (I should have asked if I could order that fish for takeout!). They also had other hot foods, meats, and seafood options that were tasty. The dessert section was more basic (flan, jello, fortune cookies, etc.), so I skipped dessert this time (besides the fortune cookies hehe). The service, in general, was fantastic. While we were dining, a child nearby celebrated a birthday with their family and the staff went ALL OUT singing happy birthday with light-up decorations and so much energy. It was adorable and way more effort than most restaurants put in. My only small critique is that the "French Fries" listed on the menu are actually sweet potato fries. They tasted good, and I normally like sweet potatoes, but it definitely caught us off guard because it wasn't what we expected. When we left, the staff kindly said goodbye to us, including an older gentleman near the door who consistently seemed focused on customer service and even asked if we wanted condiments packed with our leftovers. We had such a lovely experience and I would consider Sumo Sushi as probably one of the better AYCE sushi spots in the area. We'll definitely be back!

Kids loved it of course. I appreciated the cook on my filet mignon and the chef obliged my request to skip adding the sauce on my salmon. My Mom had Mahi Mahi and I would order that next time. Each grill has 8 seats. Since we were a party of 5 and we came mid afternoon on a Saturday, we didn't have to share the space. My boyfriend and I was in the area so we decided to stop by and saw they even had lunch specials. We arrived and there were a few tables as well as a few customers waiting for a take out order. We waited to be seated and it didn't take long before our waitress led us to a table near the window. We were given three different menus composing of their regular menu, lunch menu and a fun guide to help sushi lovers/non-lovers to find a roll that best suits them. They offer quite a bit of variety for people who enjoy sushi, who prefer non-sushi items and even a fun non-alcoholic drinks menu for those who enjoy coffee, fruity drinks or sodas. The decor in here is very minimal and doesn't really fit the vibes that they seem to be going for, as they have beautiful piano music playing the background and it feels like they are trying to go for a more upscale experience from their presentation, food offerings and prices. They do also have infused orange water too, so I feel they should do more with their decor to truly elevate the experience here. Our waitress was very professional and efficient, she came to check on us when appropriate and served other tables with the same professionalism and smile. I got the Mermaid Princess which was beautifully and tastefully crafted! Themed drinks and food can be tricky if it's just randomly thrown together but you can tell there was a creative and thoughtful mind behind this creation. For food, I got their NY steak yakimono with my choice sides being the miso soup and white rice, while my boyfriend got the Double Bubble choosing the Philadelphia roll and shrimp tempura roll. We got an order of their shrimp tempura basket later too and it arrived pretty quickly. I asked for my NY steak to be cooked medium rare and they executed it perfectly as it was tender and juicy. The miso soup was good but disappointing as it was just the broth, no seaweed, tofu or green onions to make it more memorable. They do also give much more rice than necessary compared to the meat ratio. My boyfriend's rolls were hearty as other places have smaller rolls but the cuts of ingredients and amount of rice was definitely more generous than other sushi restaurants. The shrimp tempura's exterior was perfectly crunchy while the inside was soft and chewy. I definitely want to come back to try their other cocktails, food items and sushi rolls.
