The chicken teriyaki is always good, very little fat, and always cooked perfectly. Sides are great too, like gyoza or fried sweet potatoes. Very fast and friendly staff. Probably the best teriyaki in UP. I would recommend. read more

This is a nice teriyaki place with a good selection of food options. We tried the chicken yakisoba and some chicken fried rice. The nice gentleman behind the counter answered all our questions about what we ordered and the proceeded to cook it for us. He even made me some soy/garlic sauce for rice when I asked for some sauce and brought teriyaki sauce too. It was very good. I'm returning to try some teriyaki necmxt time. The portions were large and, I have to say, even better when I had them for lunch two days later. I was impressed. read more

Ginza Teriyaki - chicken teriyaki with rice & salad. And miso soup. - Japanese Near Me - University Pl, Washington

My kids swear Ginza has the best teriyaki in town. The sauce is perfectly balanced--not too salty and not too sweet. The owners are always very friendly, and I've been coming here for teriyaki and chicken katsu for years. Ginza is truly a great local restaurant. read more

It pains me to write this review because they were my favorite teriyaki place back in the day. Things have changed. The restaurant is run down and falling apart, they don't even put soy sauce or teriyaki, or cutlery or napkins or anything on the tables like almost every other place does. Then the food itself - I got the combo teriyaki chicken and Mongolian Beef. The chicken and teriyaki sauce were pretty bland but passable. The beef however, was the worst version of Mongolian Beef I've ever had. Came in a thick gloopy but also flavorless sauce instead of the standard glazed and stir fried version. No crunchy noodles at the base either. It didn't even taste anything like a Mongolian beef sauce. I guess if you are in the area and there's no other place to eat, at least stick with the teriyaki, but avoid the Chinese dishes at all costs. read more

Great hidden spot, massive portions great company and great food! Was very friendly and even the customers inside raved about the fodd! They were not wrong! For sure coming back read more

Bad food, rude service. Lady was rude and acted like I was a scam while ordering on the phone. Food was very low quality and too large of a portion. Prices are high for low quality (Almost $90 for 4 teriyaki dinners) read more

We have been looking for a more authentic teriyaki place and this gem was tucked right where we'd never have seen them-but in plain sight. Friendly family service. Portions were generous-appreciated being asked if we wanted rice/salad-over of us doesn't eat many starches and hates throwing the food away. Can't wait to go back. read more

I have been going to Ginza for over a decade now, since my middle school days. I remember I would save up lunch money to go here with my friends all throughout middle school and high school. Even now, after college, still the best teriyaki place hands-down in Tacoma/University Place area. The teriyaki restaurant is family-owned. They're the sweetest owners ever. Given that, their service is amazing (especially dining in). The food portions were huge back in the day, and they're huge now! They haven't skimped out on their portions ever. Their food tastes delicious and fresh. It's my always go-to place. Their prices are affordable and definitely a bang for your buck with their portions. read more

Ginza Teriyaki - Chicken & Gyoza and chicken & beef - Japanese Near Me - University Pl, Washington

Another teriyaki hit! I've kind of have developed a fondness for teriyaki after moving to the Pacific Northwest. Lately since covid-19 has hit I've been going to very good teriyaki restaurants lately... all to go of course to go home and dine upon. For Ginza I got the usual chicken teriyaki and nothing else. Like most places (this is before Phase 2 was initiated) I could place an order but automatically it was for "to go". After placing my order the gentleman said that he'd come out to my car with my order once it was ready which was different but more comfortable since it was in my car where my food arrived. The chicken teriyaki was awesome. The meat was tender, flavorful and very enjoyable to have at home. Definitely a satisfying meal and worth returning back to! read more

Amazing Tampora and chicken fried rice! Take away is worth it. Friendly staff that is close to home.

Chicken Yakisoba was very authentic, went with 7/10 in the spice level and it was spicy but very flavorful!

The food was really good and the owner (Joann) was a pleasure. I highly recommend! The pricing was fair, when you taste the food you won't by worried how much you paid. Thank you Joann! read more

Best teriyaki in town and it has been consistently good for over 20 years. Old faithful is the chicken teriyaki but their beef is also excellent as is their tempura read more

I am splitting my Teriyaki time between here and Happy Hana and I'll tell you why, in no particular order. 1. The staff is gracious and kind. 2. The value is incredible for the money : portion ratio. 3. They are fast. 4. The food tastes great. 5. I have seen them continue to follow COVID safety protocols meticulously, making sure that we are safe. 6. Given the rise in anti-Asian sentiment, I think it is very important that we show our support to Asian-owned businesses. It's the right thing to do and it's the right time to do it. After a harrowing year+ of COVID dampening business revenues, our neighbors still have to deal with the fear of being targeted. The best way we can combat this is by supporting them with our voices, our votes, and our dollars. read more

I've been going here for about 30 years ; this Saturday 2/4/23 was a bit busy but the worse service. The lady came out and complained that it was 7 if us that just walked in and why does everyone want something now.. I paid for dinner size and got my order it was lunch size... 1 scoop of rice when they always give 2... dinner size usually is large and this was less than a lunch portion. I'm incredibly Disappointed and wish I had of cancelled my order after she came from the kitchen to complain about us ordering food... this was the worse service ever and to hear them arguing was embarrassing and uncomfortable. Sadly I will never go back. I was referred to a teriyaki place that's 3 minutes away.. heard excellent food and service. read more

I was unable to purchase my food due to their finicky card machine, was directed to a closed bank nearby to withdraw cash and subsequently guilted with the owner stating "I'll just have to throw food away". It was 20 minutes of patronizing and passive aggressive treatment. An incredibly unpleasant customer experience. Turned off of the prospect of returning anytime soon. read more

Just ate at Ginza today and it is not what it used to be. Ordered a lunch special chicken teriyaki and sweet-and-sour chicken. Brought out on a ginormous plate with one scoop of rice and less than a half a cup of chicken teriyaki and sweet-and-sour chicken. It was not even enough to make one person full. this place is not what it used to be and on top of it, it cost us almost $20 for a drink and a lunch special would not recommend food was good tasting. read more

I called in and ordered chicken katsu. My food came out fast and hot. I even got an extra fortune cookie and side of katsu sauce for free! They took care of me especially when it was my first time eating read more

This review gets 2 stars because the people were so sweet. Unfortunately, the food not so much. We spend about $64 on 4 meals that none of us finished. Some only took 3 bites. Overall the food was bland, the rice mushy, the fried rice tasteless, the Mongolian beef was rubbery, and the teriyaki chicken had tendons which was just repulsive. None of the food even tasted Chinese - more like old brown gravy. This was takeout and we tried it because our usual place was closed. We definitely will not be going back. read more

Don't judge a book by its cover! The staff are friendly (and still wearing masks during Covid when several other rests have stopped). The food is delicious. My favorite is the General Tso's, which has a good texture.... not soggy like can sometimes happen when sauce is added. read more

This place never disappoints (except when they're outta fortune cookies but you can get those anywhere) the flavor, the portion size, the friendly staff, the speediness of the orders always on point. The price may seem a little high compared to some others but once you open your takeout box it's all worth it, food is enough for 2 meals or if you wanna try and conquer it all you may be in a food coma read more

Delicious, consistent, well prepared food. Have gone to Ginza for decades. Always a great meal. Very generous portions.

I asked 3x for extra yakisoba sauce on my vegetable yaki. He didn't put any extra. Noodles are overcooked and they put a ton of slimy bok choy in it. Barely any vegetables only a few carrots and broccoli but lots of slimey lettuce. Never coming back. read more

Great little place out near Tacoma CC. Great food and great service. I have had the Yellow Curry chicken, beef and chicken teriyaki, wonton soup, beef and broccoli and all were excellent. LUNCH Bento Box with chicken teriyaki, vegetable tempura (including 1 large shrimp). Not shown is gyoza and a small salad. This is a TON of food for under $15 and would easily feed two. I love, love, love this place. The owners are Korean and they love to chit chat while your order is being made. They are the sweetest couple, ever! I normally order the teriyaki chicken and rice with a side of the cream cheese ragoons. Yum! It never takes more than 10-15 minutes and if you happen to be in store while waiting, they have a small dining area. The TV is normally on either a sports channel or the news. Some of the reviews are spot on about the dishes not being cleared from the tables. But there are only 2 people working here and they are not only the owners but they are also responsible for doing everything else - placing order, cleaning tables, charging cards, cooking, washing dishes, etc. Give them some credit!! And definitely try their cream cheese ragoons. Lol. I'm in love with them - so simple and so delicious! read more

Ginza Teriyaki is hands down one of my favorite teriyaki places for the simple sake of their homemade teriyaki sauce.. The lady who's always here (I assume is an owner) told me a few years ago that the recipe takes eight hours to create. Eight hours of simmering, healthy goodness... I've only ever bought the chicken teriyaki with sauce on the side (SOS) or the chicken teriyaki bento box with SOS. The both portions are plenty for two hungry appetites or good to make two to three meals out of... talk about cheap!! All in all, you should check this place out if you haven't already and support the little Ma & Pops shops. Definitely a hole in the wall, but they pump out great food that's consistent. read more
