I called my order over the phone as I was parking the car and was told it would take 15 minutes to make the oyster n chips. After I parked I went inside to pay. I dined in because there wasn't many people inside. As soon as I sat down the drink came and then 2 minutes later my food came. The oyster tastes delicious. It was perfectly breaded and cooked. I had ordered the hot and sour soup but it had the consistency of snot. I have had hot and sour soup from many places and none had a consistency like this one. That is not how the consistency of soup should be. The woman at the register seemed very sweet until I brought up this problem with her and asked for a refund to which she replied with, "There is nothing wrong with the soup." I was so hungry at the time I forgot to snap pictures of what I ordered. It smelt fantastic though, so I had to scarf it down. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki w/brown rice, and Veggie Yakisoba w/brown rice over the phone. Almost everything hit the spot, and the reason for 4 stars was the taste of the yakisoba was a little off, as if it had been sitting out for a while, and the noodles weren't the normal semi-firm texture. I would recommend giving UNI Teriyaki a try, for a quick bite to eat, affordable prices, wonderful staff and a great central location around the Spanaway/Parkland area. My co workers have been telling me about this place for awhile now. I finally decided to try and was disappointed. I ordered the chicken teriyaki for my husband and the Mongolian chicken for myself. I'd called in my order, they said it would be 15 mins. I get there and still had to wait 45 mins which I understand it gets busy. The chicken was overcooked and very tough. I went to uni teriyaki on Thursday June 15th 2023 to get food for my family. It was delicious, but that following night & morning I became very sick (throwing up and excessive #2) I am 100% positive that I got food poisoning from eating their food. For $8 you get 12 (yes 12) pieces of tempura vegetables (broccoli, mushroom, onion, carrot, and sweet potato), 2 scoops of rice (a lot), a side salad and egg drop soup. I love Uni! Amazing restaurant. With a super friendly staff. I'm pretty sure this is a family run restaurant, which I like a lot. If you go there enough they start to treat you like family and remember what you order. I come here so much because it's so nice and they are so friendly. The restaurant is always clean and ready for you to sit and eat. Sometimes I get take away if I'm in a hurry, but most of the time I will sit in and eat. I usually get teriyaki chicken! Sometimes if I'm feeling naughty I'll get the teriyaki chicken and gyoza. Don't tell my nutritionist. I'm suppose to be watching what I eat! It's just go good. Fairly cheap. And if you get a punch card you get your 11th meal free! If you're like me and eat here a lot, you will want the card. Just ask for it! Lots of places to sit. I will usually come with a friend or two, or if I have work to do I will do it there. You can get free wifi from Farrelli's next door. Since it is so close to PLU a lot of college students eat here. I've never been here before & took a shot in the dark based on Yelp reviews & photos. I reviewed their menu via photos. I choose a lunch special........called my order in....... walked in to pay...... my card was taken & swiped then I'm told a total price that was $3 more than the advertised online!!!!! While trying to stop to understand the price confusion, I'm handed my receipt & told IDK what your talking about and the woman points at their current menu which does reflect the price I was charged. I've been to Uni three times in the past two weeks, and each time I've ordered a different dish. So far I've tried the chicken breast teriyaki, mongolian beef, and spicy shrimp. and gyoza. All were very tasty and flavorful. I haven't experienced the small portions mentioned by other posters, but as those posts are from two years ago, perhaps this issue has been corrected. What I liked. I really appreciate that the meats used are very lean. Ive been to many teriyaki places that give you meats that are full of fat and gristle. Hate that. Not a fan. I generally will not re-visit an establishment that serves that type of food. Their teriyaki sauce has it's own flavor, which is pretty good. It doesn't taste like every other joint. The gyoza are really good. I they're fried, not steamed. It's a nice change as most places stem them. It's a light fry, meaning it's not greasy. Spicy shrimp at level 4 was nice and hot! SPICY! What I didn't like. The shrimp was tough and had a very strong, "fishy" odor to them that you could smell through the seasoning of the dish. I'm from Chalmette, LA, and if I know anything, I know about shrimp. This is a tel-tale sign of shrimp that's not fresh. I'm finding this to be a tough one in these types of places, as they're not hitting fish markets on a daily basis to get the freshest ingredients. I understand why they don't, as it's expensive, but in the end, the dish suffers because of it. I was aware of the chance of this when I ordered, so I wasn't too surprised when I got my order. That being said, it didn't ruin the dish, but it wasn't as good as it could have been if the shrimp had been fresh. Bottom line, if your business is doing even moderately well, never skimp on fresh seafood. The Mongolian beef was good. I liked it overall, but what disappointed me were the red chili peppers. They were near flavorless, and had the texture of very dry cardboard. Usually, eating one of these things will light your mouth up, but not these. Again, otherwise a good dish. Overall I will go back and try more dishes. The servers have been very nice and welcoming. Each time I've gone, there's always been people in the dining room, which is a sign of a good place to eat. read more

Being right next to Pacific Lutheran University, this is my favorite place to go in walking distance when I'm looking for something to-go with friends. I always get the same spicy chicken teriyaki, but the best part is they specialize my order when I want it spicier than they 1-5 limit. The company here is super sweet, although occasionally it is unwelcoming, I never stay here to sit in. I usually enjoy teriyaki on the go so that I can eat it at home. So when I can make it to my Korean BBQ. place I order the Marinated Beef Short ribs with Yakisoba side (2.99$ upgrade but worth it) and it is delicious! Great portion size and finger lickin good! I've also had the beef Teriyaki, the chicken Katsu and the chicken Teriyaki, also the Gyoza appetizers! The food is always hot fresh and delicious! Honestly I was just looking for a place to get my daughter chicken teriyaki and this was the closest. I walked in this place at 545 on a Tuesday evening and ordered 4 chicken teriyaki's to go. In about 20 min I had my order and was on my way out the door. My daughter let me know it was the best chicken teriyaki she's had yet. I was happy with their service and the quality of their food.
