So good!!!! Wish I had picture before I attacked the plate. Next time...

Definitely under new ownership. Food looks whole lot more presentable than previous pictures and were very yummy. Seldom I eat teriyaki due to sensitivity to fishy chicken odor when ingredients are not fresh but had none of that here. I ordered chick and beef combo and everything was impressive. Meats were tender fresh and delicious. One regret is that I forgot to take a picture before I attack the plate. They presented me with improved menu. Owner admitted they had issues with sweet and sour chick before but finally figured it out. It was crunchy hot and fresh. Also, saw a sign "Sushi Coming Soon". Owner explained he has 30 plus years experience making sushi. Here is the picture of when I am done. I am definitely coming back

Under new management, and it shows - huge improvement! So excited to have this in the neighborhood.

food was amazing and so filling! my favorite was the egg (tamago) sushi, it had a perfect taste to it such as sweetness. i'm so happy they give us two pieces per order for such a cheap price. the service was good, the wait was not too bad but not long at all :) they had a variety of menu inside, seats weren't cramped and spacious but we decided to eat in the car. please keep supporting this place since their food is so underrated.

Outstanding food! The new owners of hot teriyaki have set a new standard. After 25+ years of crafting, arguably, the best sushi in Western Washington chef Choi started his own restaurant. Choi was the executive chef at Koto Japanese restaurant; this Lakewood establishment was known for winning "King 5 best of Washington" restaurant for years. Chef Choi is the master behind all those winning years. He now goes "all in " Starting his own restaurant, realizing a multi year dream. Unlike Bad dried out Teriyaki you've had another place is this Teriyaki is fresh and tasty. Master sushi, Chef Choi combines perfectly cooked rice with the nigiri sushi, and if you appreciate sushi fixed properly , the sashimi is to die for! You're going to love this place! The fish portions are thick, very fresh, and Troy hand picks all the fresh food daily. The journey to hot teriyaki is worth the drive from anywhere in western Washington.

Good food made to order. Simple teriyaki spot and it now my favorite in Tacoma. They made my short list fast.

The lady at the front counter has a the worst attitude. Very disrespectful. Their noodles look grey and the portions are small.

(Cost): $30 + tip (Location): It's located near a very busy intersection and right next to a gas station. This makes it sort of difficult to find parking, or even get in and out of the place. The location itself is midsize and they have a good amount of booths for you to sit in. (Service): Great, the employee who helped me get my pickup order was friendly and quick. (Food): Honeydew Bubble Tea Slush (4/5)-- the boba was too soft and flavorless, but the drink itself was pretty good. Side Fried Rice(3/5)-- this was a very filling portion of rice. I got a side order because I wanted something light, but I couldn't even finish it. It was good; the taste reminded me of the fried rice from Panda Express. Tasted even better the next morning. Side Mongolian Beef (4/5)-- came with onions and other vegetables cooked in. It wasn't crispy like I would normally expect, but that wasn't a bad thing. Side Miso Soup (2/5)-- not my favorite. It tasted a little oily or maybe watered down. The traditional miso that I've had in the past is heavier and more flavored, so if you're expecting that this might not be the one for you.
