We had a family birthday party today and I was nice. The staff was freindly, helpful, and the restaurant was pretty clean, too. The Family Yaght is an impressive display of a variety of food/sushi. Everyone was happy with the choice and enjoyed our time here. The only thing that was disturbing for me in my wheelchair was there is no ADA button to open the door & I was stuck in the bathroom for a few minutes. I asked the manager to mention that to the owner and she said she would. I haven't been to Trapper's for years and was happy we chose it for the party. We took our college kiddo here over spring break. Took awhile to get our order. They forgot my edamame I ordered. Sushi was alright nothing I would go back for. I also tried the teriyaki beef plate. The tempura was cold and the beef was cooked but cold as well. No real vibe. read more

This is my favorite Sushi/Sashimi place in the PNW. I am from Hawaii and was born in Japan so I have high standards! The fish is always fresh! Tonight I had the house sake, hot. Started with edamame. It used to be free, but now they charge. I had sashimi with tako poke (octopus) and ogo (seaweed salad) and the Mountain sushi. All were filling and delicious! Wait help at the bar was attentive. There are tv's that have all the current sporting events. The staff is more than willing to change the channel to your show of choice. If you want to eat a lot, sit at the bar. I know Trapper's Sushi typically didn't have good reputation when I lived in King County because let's be real: King County has way too many Asian restaurants in competition that can offer different happy hour prices. It isn't like Bonney Lake, where you can't get many Asian varieties. I once had dinner at Trapper's Sushi (forgot the location), but I thought the sushi was good. This time, I finally paid a visit to Trapper's Sushi in my local city after 4 years because my friend invited me to have lunch with him. We were seated immediately by the polite hostess, and a waitress came over to serve us with our drink and sushi rolls order right away. The restaurant's vibe is casual but also can play a great lunch or dinner date if you ever want to get sushi in a restaurant environment. As you can see from my photos, my friend & I ordered 4 rolls of sushi (I forgot their names because I never remember sushi's names!), but I distinctively remember the calamari order very well. Sushi rolls were great and fresh. But let's talk about the Calamari. I thought the squid was going to be tiny and broken into pieces and crumbs like I'd see in restaurants. Surprisingly, the calamari that I received on that day were meaty & huge. Actually, I had to be careful in limiting my appetizer intake, or I'd not be able to enjoy the sushi rolls! The food came as ordered, noticeably, the shrimp tempura and gyoza were done far before the rolls were done. My favorite part about this location is how it appears to be run solely by young adults that act as if they have all the time in the world, they are not stressing about a thing, which unfortunately for some, includes the expediting of to-go orders, moving from space to space and overall experience for the customer. Additionally, I noticed during my wait, this one box of food was given to a woman (to-go), she left, apparently opened to find it's not hers, returned to the restaurant and those working tonight simply took said container, switched out for another and put the other back on the counter for another order. I fear this shows a disregard for food handling that you might not expect to see for this establishment. Take it for what it is, give it a try, but the reviews speak for themselves. read more

I've always loved Trappers ever since my first time going to the Enumclaw location with friends. Sushi to me, is about unique and well paired ingredients, fresh/quality fish, and a diverse menu selection. Trappers has hit that mark every time for me. I've tried the AYCE but I much prefer the main menu and seasonal specials. Service at the Bonney lake location was great. We were seated quickly, treated with respect and kindness, enjoyed some laughs with our server, and had a great time. They have great happy hour but if you're not in the mood to deal with some other tables kids... I recommend sitting in the bar. read more

The food was still delicious. The server was awesome. The host was not great. There was 8 people waiting and there was a lot of open tables but there was a 10 minute wait. Why do they let little kids take up space at the sushi bar? There was 2 kids one was about 4 and the other about 8 and they were both eating from their parents plates. Unbelievable, Unorganized and Unnecessary is what described my experience last night for dinner. We requested a table for 4, +high chair. Simple right? No. Front Desk and Staff seemed to be more interested in chit chatting and standing around rather then attending to guests. There were literally 8 people in the entire restaurant dining at one point. Needless to say there were plenty of tables and chairs to seat us, yet they made us wait for almost a half hour? The only other party waiting was for about 8. Ok great. Were you allocating the entire restaurant for 8 people or what? Why are you making us wait so long when obviously there are open tables??? Our server and the food itself is what warranted 2 stars. Other than that, be prepared for terrible customer service, a lack of attention and common sense when it comes to seating guests. read more

When I got to the Resturant, my appetizers looked like they were already on the counter and I thought, no big deal, I'm sure the rest of the order will be ready soon...the rest of the order didn't come for another 20 minutes. My family and I were extremely hungry, so I decided to just take the food home. I should have said something while I was there. They gave me the coldest, soggiest gozya and calamari I've ever eaten. Be warned, if you order take out, either order only appetizers or only sushi rolls. They don't seem to know how to time their food. Came here while I was running errands on a Tuesday afternoon and it wasnt packed at all. There was barely anyone there. I did overhear a waitress state that on some weeks the Tuesdays tend to be packed around the afternoon and some weeks it isnt. I ordered the Thrill roll with miso soup as a starter. The miso here does not look like your regular miso soup. It literally looks like water mixed with miso packaged flavoring. The ingredients of tofu and green onion were included. However, the tofu pieces looked a little inconsistent as it had some holes and was not a solid cube piece of tofu. The Thrill roll was decent. The corkscrew shrimp tasted like honey, but no hint of sriracha sauce, so it wasnt so spicy. The shrimp wasnt crispy and was more chewy. They do ask if you would like ginger and wasabi added with your sushi or not. Overall, the meal was okay. Couldnt taste out much of the flavors stated in the roll. Reminded me too much of a California roll with honey-mayo and shrimp. I might come back if a sushi craving rises and im in the area running errands again. read more

This place used to be good and had a really good vibe to it. I don't know what's going on but it was terrible. The staff was friendly enough but the food and value for the money has gone way down. Sashimi plate was little more than 6 of the thinnest slices of so-so fish that I've ever seen. They made it pretty like a rose, but the fish was just about as thin as a rose petal too. Won't be back. There are better places in bonney lake now. Too bad it was a favorite. Have never seen it. So empty on a Friday evening before. read more

We stopped in on a Wednesday night for a bite to eat. Service was terrible. We waited for a table but were ignored, so we sat in the designated bar area where we were finally waited on. As we walked through the restaurant to the bar area tables were not bused and the floor was filthy (napkins and chopsticks all over the place).
